- We went to Greenville, North Carolina to honor the greatest competition BMX rider of all time, The legendary, Dave Mirra. They had a memorial event at the local skatepark in which they unveiled a statue in his honor and it was a beautiful event. Matty Cranmer was feeling the positive energy and did an amazing trick for the crowd and also for Dave Mirra!
Watch "Protown" • Mirra/Nyquist/Harringt...

I got goose bumps watching this. Dave Mirra will never be forgotten! Thank You Scotty Cranmer for posting this.
RIP Dave Mirra, childhood hero! I have similar mental health issues and it’s not easy. Hang in there folks, stay strong for those who couldn’t 💪🏼 love you all, thank you for honoring Mirra, Cranmer brothers. ❤️
stay strong my friend, never forget that you are loved and matter in this world!
Prayers for ya buddy. Your not alone. Imo best way to combat depression is going for a long walk and getting plenty of sunshine. Works well for me
High honor it was to share the day with everyone & bump into yall! Now realize i was filming straight across from you the whole time so def check out my coverage, thankful i filmed everything Matty pulled off! Dave truly meant the world to our (at the time, small) town & he absolutely left a unfillable void, so it felt surreal to see the turn out as a lifelong greenville native. Cheers!!
RIP to the Miracle man an iconic legend gone too soon and one of my favorite BMX idols growing up!😢❤️🤘
As a nearly 40 year old semi bmx'er convert to mt. biker, Dave was the G.O.A.T. in my younger days. Mirra forever
Thank you scotty for sharing this as well, for those who couldnt make it like me, (I live in France) but got inspired by Dave my whole childhood. I had the privilege to shake his hand in montpellier Fise probably around 2009. It's still very hard to believe he is gone and we miss him. Rest in peace Legend!
It always breaks my heart when I think of Dave. I grew up watching him ride, playing his games, and playing with his finger bike skatepark along with the figures of him and nyquist that go on the finger bikes. That was the best generation of BMX hands down.
The days of Dave Mirra, Jay Miron, and Dennis McCoy were awesome watching during my child hood. So many good memories watching.
The reason i got into BMX, RIP Big man.
I had Leigh’s signature Eastern BMX in 2004, the Ace of Spades. Beautiful bike, chrome back rim.
He is hysterical. If any of you can watch early Props Road Fools, he is absolutely hilarious.
Got to meet Lee at the '98 x-games in San Diego. A very cool dude. Awesome in RF3 (especially as bow legged captain idiot 😂). Props profile was good too, introduced me to bouncing souls
Ramsdell is literally one of my childhood heros
❤️👍🇬🇧
Dave mirra is a serious legend!!! Rip and all respects. Definitely someone who motivated and changed the world of BMX a lot!
Scotty thanks for this one. Dave was the reason many of us got into BMX at all. And then the video games got hundreds of thousands more. R.I.P. ONE OF THE ALL TIME GOATS
My heart still goes out to his family, and friends. Monumental loss to bmx.😢
Mirra, Nyquist, and Scotty at 10:22! RIP Mirra, I grew up watching you in the 90s and early 2000's. You, Nyquist, the Condor, and Tony Hawk introduced me to action sports. Scotty got me back into BMX and I bought my first BMX bike in 20 years from SC Bicycles! Check on your mates
that's awesome! I really need a new bmx bike if I want to ride again, and I will be ordering from SC Bikes when I decide to get a custom build, knowing it will be flawless with BK assembling it👌👌
Props Best Of 2000 opening minute has beautiful montage of Mirra soaring with a great song. He does a 1.5 bar and sticks it on vert. I have goosebumps thinking about it.
Scotty, you are maybe even better than Dave was. I truly believe that. You had stuff he didn’t. Although the generation was slightly different
I have the soundtrack of Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX for the PS1 engraved in my f'ing BRAIN.
I got goose bumps and the water works were held back. This man is where my real BMX journey started. Practicing the trick on the game and then going out to try in real life. A true legend ❤
What a great video to watching while I have my morning coffee on thr day I get my first new BMX since I was a kid! 47 years old and riding since March, Scotty and the guys are so inspiring. My body is beat up, but my mental health has never been better.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart Scotty. Genuinely love you.
Exactly the same for me. Buying my own new bike this week after jumping aboard my son’s bike and realising how much fun this was. I’m 51, bodies broken but the mental health benefits are already worth it. Matty and Scotty, your videos are so much fun and inspiration. Thank you for reminding us old guys how to have fun again.
@@Paul-f9v That's do awesome man. Enjoy the new bike. I'm literally about to head to the ship right now to pick mine up! 🤙🏼
I remember watching Mirra from the start of X games. What a legend!!! The goat!!
I got to meet Dave Mirra when I was 15. He was on the Tony Hawk tour and they stopped by and did a show at the skate park called “ Hang loose “ in Cornelius, NC. He was such a cool dude and I got take a picture with him. I am now 39 years old and still have that picture. Dave was such a humble guy, MIRRA FOREVER!!
RIP MIRACLE MAN. This looks like such an amazing event and thank you so much for sharing with us!
Thank you for this! Mirra was a hero of mine. I’ll never forget my first Bmx vhs, Haro “Fantasy” I probably watched that 100 times! I also remember watching live a 16 year old Cranmer vs Mirra and Nyquist in the X Games. Mirra will never be forgotten, and we appreciate you Scotty!
in my hometown, have a helmet from the guy, Much Love from the ville
That statue honoring him is so incredibly cool!
That was so cool!! Thanks for making that trip. Nice to see all those people come out and show their support!!
Hit that like button. Love ya dave!!
Oh man,Leigh is such a underrated legend. Such a character.
Very moving. Lee is a fav rider of mine especially in the Dave Mirra BMX vid game. I could feel the heaviness in Tim when he spoke about Dave. One of a kind. Missed greatly. Thank you for posting cuz I’d never be able to view these wonderful events otherwise. Matt’s flakier flip twist just solidifies him as a serious top notch BMXer. Love it!
Never gone, Never forgotten, Always with us 😇🤙🏼😎
Thanks for sharing this scotty! We really grew up during the best era of bmx
RIP Miracle Boy
such a good day! thank you for sharing it with us! Dave would be stoked!
Dave Mirra was my biggest inspiration in the late 90s early 2000s. I miss him so much I watch miracle boy and Nyquist regularly. Those were the days if it wasn’t for Dave and Ryan BMX wouldn’t be what it is today. Thank you for this video. Super nostalgic also Scotty and Matt, you guys are awesome as well. Thank you for your videos. They’re always a nice treat at the end of my day. Keep doing what you’re doing. I appreciate it so much.
Stoked to see you both out there! What a great event
I will always remember Dave, I watched him land the first double back flip in competition from 15 ft away on my 17th birthday at x games San Francisco. Wish he was still around.
Thanks for sharing bro! It was a lot of fun! Mirra and Miron were my favorite riders and most influential. I still have my Haro S351 in the grey/blue and raw. Glad to see so many people come out. Miss ya Dave!

Those days before the internet and when there wasn't any videos online, you didn't know what new tricks people had learned since the last contest. Mirra, Hoffman, McCoy, Volker, Miron, Nolli, ect... would throw down and you always saw these guys do something you'd never seen.
Well time to paint the pedals gold again :D
I'm not a BMX rider but I had Dave mirra bmx 2 on GameCube, when I was a kid. That game made me go outside and jump ramps and try tricks.
Dave’s a legend one of my idols
That a sweet tribute man I use to love the his game on PS
What a man!
RIP Mirra.. I grew up watching him.
This video went by too fast! I wanted more.. Loved watching Mirra ride. RIP

RIP Mister Mirra.
I vividly remember, watching Dave doing the double backflip over the box jump at X games.
Matty😮🤯
Okay, place your bets. How long before Matty builds that weird hing bike?? 😏
Great tribute to Dave. So much history. Matty once again pulling off an insane trick. So much stuff in one video. Great listening to Leigh talking about the history of that era whilst fixing a wheel for Matty, so much nostalgia and great video footage of the time.
RIP
Amazing

0:41 WOW guys! Mural looks real nice. That sort of thing is frequently botched. You did a real nice job on this one. Looks great. I like the bike chain. Cant help but wonder if some street dawg is going to flair that.

Rip the GOAT Dave. not too long after Scotty you had your accident, bmx definitely was impacted huge in that span of a year or 2

❤😢😮😮😊😅 you guys are too young. You might not know Dave Vanderspek he was awesome dude that stopped people when they were driving their car for him to do BMX bike tricks in front of them all right take care, brother a nice lovely video.
How are you rolling back without the pedals wanting to go round?!...I swear mine always had to back pedal as a kid when going backwards...🤷
Matty is wounded he didn't come up with that contraption well i say contraption but it's a sick contraption ✌peace
Puppy arms better come thru
That spine is so scary to ride
Buy that bike for the challenges like you use to do with the random weird bikes miss that
So what is matty calling his fakie flail anyways?
Is that Lee that got his finger mangled in Tobias wike sprocket on road fools
People feel the same about you Scotty as they do Mirra. After your accident, BMX lost another great way too soon.
Eu achava que o Nyquist era um grande amigo do Dave. 🤔
Why that statue is 2d.......😢
I tend to think Scott Cranmer in his peak was a better rider than Dave Mirra.
_/TOKIO
Get on a fucking bike!!!!
11:37 WHY THEY NOT STANDING UP THEY CANNOT UNDERSTAND ENGLISH?
WEAK !!!!
I love the idea behind this and celebrating Dave but I'm disappointed that they chose a suicide no hander as the trick for the statue. Out of all the tricks that they could have chose they chose a suicide. The disrespect is real. Mike should have either turned it down or tried for a diff trick. I really dont know how to feel about this.... i'm saddened by the ignorance.
Couldn't get a human to narrate the video?
