23:08 Maimónides, also known as Rambam, was not a Moor but a Jew, one of the most important Kabbalists in history. In the photograph you can see a menorah.
Correction: The Guernica painting in the UN is a copy, and is a tapestry. The real one It's been in Spain since 1981and in the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid since 1992
This is the only time I’ll be able to say this: I’ve been to this country! I went with a group from my church, we were helping out a different church in Spain which was located in a little town called Alcora. Awesome, beautiful place with beautiful people (and great food). We did a lot of tourist stuff while there too, we visited a nearby castle which I didn’t appreciate nearly enough and we also drove down to walk along the Mediterranean Sea. There’s way more too but I’d be here all day typing if I said them all. My only real regret is sleeping on the train ride from Madrid to Alcora, it was my first real look at Spain and I napped through it. But I was tired, we had a long flight with a layover in London (I guess that technically means I’ve been to the UK too, but I only saw the London airport and nothing else :p London from above was also an awesome sight) and I got like no sleep during any of it. But oh well. It was still an awesome week and I’d love to go back there.
A different note, I was actually looking recently and wondering why Spain didn’t have a bigger Muslim population, this video reminded me, yes, the inquisition, that explains it 🧐
Okay final note I swear, I wasn’t gonna write about it but since the book made mention, we also went to running with the bulls! I honestly don’t have much to say about it though, I stayed in the cages away from the bulls the whole time and just remember being mostly confused about what was even supposed to be happening XD (this was 2015, I just realized I never said :p)
@@sheffley3081 well, there is a lot of "Black Legend" around Spain and the Spanish Inquisition, promoted by countries like France or England, for example. Was the Spanish Inquisition bad? Yes of course. Was the worse in Europe? Absolutely not. In fact, the country that killed more people in Inquisition processes is Germany.
Finally, my country! I was expecting this. Thank you for your work, you have an excellent channel! Greetings from Barcelona
