    Can anyone tell me that the Medicare advantage is better for cancer or stroke? Please leave your story here. It helps others. Thanks!

    Went through Chemo, Hospitalization for 5 days every 6 weeks for 6 months, Chemo outpatient CT, MRI and PET Scans for Lymphoma. All I paid was the annual deductible with Plan G.

      Glad to hear that and thanks for the comment. People going onto Medicare for the first time will appreciate your story. Smart that you chose the correct plan. Hope you are doing well.

      Hi. Did you have lymphoma before you applied for Medicare plan G? And the underwriting didn't disqualify you? I'm 64 in similar situation.
      Thx.

      @@dporper6390 I was under treatment with private insurance when I applied for Medicare. My out of pocket under the private insurance was $ 15K for 2 months of treatment.

      @dporper6390 There is a 6 month initial open enrollment window that begins when you first sign up for Medicare Part B and you are 65 years of age. During this small window of time, you don't have to go through medical underwriting and you cannot be denied coverage due to health conditions for supplement plans. Don't miss this one time opportunity!

    My husbands final visit to the ER cost over $50k. His plan F covered everything. I didn't get a bill for even a dime. Ambulance and ER were 100% covered.

    I turn 65 later this year. Still working and not drawing social security yet. Pretty much waiting for the medicare eligibility at 65. I am in excellent health but I tell people I love plan G. Sure it costs more and it probably goes up each year you get older but it is all about pay now or pay later. We are all healthy until we are not. It's all about peace of mind for me. Great video. I've been on Plan G for over 4 years through Chemo, Heart Bypass and 2 bouts of Pneumonia with out-of-pocket costs of under $500.

    Unfortunately, gap plans (supplemental plans) are not available for people under age 65 who are on medicare for disability (cancer in my case).

      My sister is in the same boat. She is on SSDI in Texas and 58 years old. She can only get a plan A for over 500 per month. She ended up getting the best star rated PPO medicare advantage plan she could that had all her doctors in network and covered her meds at the lowest cost.

    Chemotherapy is covered by Plan F, G and N the best. Great video. It is true Plan G is best right now for cancer or stroke. Maybe plan n also

      This is true. If you can’t get plan f the other Medigap plans are best for major diseases including cancer. Thanks for the comment

    Great video Brian. A question for you. I thought I read somewhere that the Plan N $20 copay only applies to a doctor's consultation and does not apply to a test procedure, e.g., a CAT scan. In other words, if I go to my doctor and he writes a script for a CAT scan, I pay the $20 copay for the doctor's visit but $0 for the CAT scan on Plan N. Am I correct?

    • @medicare365
      @medicare365  Рік тому +2

      That is correct. It's hard for me to convey that in a video but I'll try in the future. Thanks for the comment.

    So medicare part b covers 80% of chemotherapy and the Medigap plan f or G covers the other 20% ?

    • @medicare365
      @medicare365  Рік тому +3

      Yes, I should have made that point more clear in the video. Medicare Part A&B will cover 80% and a Medicare supplement Plan F will cover the full 20% that is left over. If you have a Medigap plan F... you will pay $0 for chemotherapy, it will pick up the 20% that Medicare doesn't pay. With Plan G, it will cover all of the 20% left over except for $226 each year. We can have the best plans on Earth, but if it's taken 3 to 6 months to your appointments to see Doctors or do the tests not going to help 😢
