2024 PAVE Parent Power Awards - Ana Rodriguez Advocate Award

Ana serves on the Citywide and Ward 5 PLE Boards. A McKinley Middle School and Morgan State University (and Duke Ellington alumni and soon-to-be McKinley Tech) parent, Ana is a proud Latina Mom and serves as a Territory Sales Manager at Google. This past year, Ana served as the Ward 5 representative on the DC Advisory Committee on Student Assignment and Boundaries through the Deputy Mayor for Education’s Office. Ana has dedicated hundreds of hours of her time to advance #ParentPower with PAVE. She both chaired and attended multiple meetings with policymakers, spoke on a national panel on the importance of centering #ParentVoice, testified multiple times before DC decision makers, tabled out in the community to encourage other parents to join PAVE and commit to #Vote4DCKids, and as a natural organizer, brought multiple new parents into the PAVE network and formed strong relationships with current PAVE parent leaders.
