I was able to keep my Yellow Manzano (pubescens) pepper, Negro Chilhuacle, Amarillo Chilhuacle, and a few other peppers alive through the winter. I used a heavy-duty clear tarp (20'x30' weighing 25 pounds) with some occasional heat from an electric oil heater. It takes the Manzano at least 3 years to get into any full production with the 2nd year maybe producing a few dozen fruit.

Your mango tree is looking incredibly healthy, Jeff! I wish we could grow mangos here, I guess I'll have to build a giant greenhouse as it can get down to 20°F here.

Hi Jeff! Came across your channel while looking for information on growing avocados in the Central Valley, and we are from Modesto too! We were going to wait until we were in southern ca to find a mango tree nursery, but if you have any ideas where we could find one closer we’d appreciate it! Thanks

Do you have another mango tree nearby? I heard the Ataúlfo mango needs another variety. I’ve also read the Ataúlfo mango came from the Manila mango.

I have huge issues even keeping mango seedlings alive in pots due to ( I assume ) root issues Jeff, are you using the same mix that you use for avocados ?

What did you use to keep them growing healthy to fruiting? I can't keep mine growing at all. Bought one, and it died out by the end of the year. One isn't grown any farther.
