I use transparent tape which is more easier to cut or remove if needed, especially from the graphite drawings because lamination makes the graphite drawing lighter and transparent tape works amazing to seal the paper
when you cut the paper sometimes the edges are not sealed and the resin can seep through there. When I cover with the tape I cut the tape around just giving myself the smallest border and use them right away.
Very good tip to coat _both_ sides of your paper. It hadn't entered my head that this would be important, but now that you say it makes perfect sense. I think you're the only person I've watched on UA-cam who's said this!
I find that I don't have the will power to wait so I just cover them with packing tape and make sure that you burnish it to eliminate the airpockets and I'm good to go. Mostly I use my Xyron . lol
Yes, but I would practice on a few pieces first. Sometimes when you try to seal ink jet printings on glossy paper, the glue will make the images run. You might try sealing with our resin gloss sealer spray first, then try the glue trick.
Can you laminate the pieces before putting in the resin? Also, if you do a bunch of pieces at once with Mod Podge, how do you keep them from sticking together when storing them after they are dry?
Do you know how to make epoxy sealed images that are not used in jewelry but instead as a piece for cellphone decoration? Without using epoxy stickers. They are on photo paper.
Just watch a tutorial on sealing it with elmers school glue, then "doming" the clear resin , i would suggest a clay base or something the resin wont stick to, like a mini wall around your sticker. Or a small negative of a barely domed shaped, so you fill that with resin, then lay the sticker on the flat side, so you can just pop it out when youre finished
am not sure if this has been asked before, but can you use normal prite stick glue, as its a white to clear glue and dries faily quickly? reason i ask is i usually laminate my photos byt am still findinv that i am getting spills into the inks, so i want something to give an extra protection to the pictues.
@@ResinObsession okay, i think it will be a trial and error moment, will let you know how it goes as i need extra security, as i still get ink bleeds with laminating, so want a second barrier to protect the image. will let you know how it goes
I have a cute little picture made by my Granddaughter that I would like to put in resin for a necklace. It is painted with water colors. Will this method work?
Yes, Rebecca, it will work well. We have a tutorial on how to do that exact project here: www.resinobsession.com/resin-tutorials/keepsake-artwork-pendant-tutorial/
Lamination will only work on thin paper. I tried using it for baseball cards and it created too much of an edge. I am going to try this method to see how it works.
Ive been pulling my hair out using this stuff. Im using it on printed paper on wood and I get bleed thru. Im coating it with 2coats of mod podge and 3 coats of Matte Varnish and still get bleed thru.
I've been successful in applying paper and varnish with no leaks. First I glue the surface then apply the paper. Wait till dry the apply the glue over the paper, then spray varnish let dry overnight and then apply epoxy resin
@@Pattycake85 I came upon a video comment section where a person is saying that laminating doesn't work, as resin somehow always finds the way and ruins the laminating

It sounds like you may not have let it fully dry before using it in resin. I like to use ICE resin paper sealer because it dries so quickly. You can find it in our store here: shop.resinobsession.com/collections/tools-and-supplies/products/ice-resin-paper-sealer

Yes, but I would practice on a few pieces first. Sometimes when you try to seal ink jet printings on glossy paper, the glue will make the images run. You might try sealing with our resin gloss sealer spray first, then try the glue trick.
Correct. Once they have finished drying, trim the glue as close as you can to the edge while leaving a little bit of a border.
Hi, Please can you tell me if you can see the brush strokes of the sealer through the resin please?
Yes you can, the more mod podge you apply the easier it is to see the brush strokes
What if you have brush strokes from using mod podge to seal the papers? Will they show through the resin?
Thank you for the idea I like it😊
Can you use this for a picture that has been printed off of your printer, like a photo but on regular paper
Yes, you can. I show the results of that here: www.resinobsession.com/resin-tutorials/photo-pendant/
So you already glued in the very beginning of the start of the video correct ?
Solid video. Thanks for the help. Namaste.
You are welcome. :)
What are you covering it with?
What about water proof wallpapers you get online ? Is sealing still required
They're probably okay, but I haven't tried them in resin.
Will this work on all papers and images, like ones you printed from the computer and not just scrap book paper?
+lyokogrl Yes, it will.
what about 2x rustoleum spray... would that work too or do you think glue is better?
I haven't tried Rustoleum spray. I don't know how well that would work.
Can you laminate the pieces before putting in the resin? Also, if you do a bunch of pieces at once with Mod Podge, how do you keep them from sticking together when storing them after they are dry?
Yes, you can laminate them. Same trimming procedure applies.
I put my papers on wax paper to dry.
Thank you
Could I use clear school glue?
twiztedlettesl Like Elmer's? Yes, but I find that sometimes it dries very bendy. Otherwise, it will seal out the moisture.
Hello I wanted to ask you if I could use book binding glue
Would it be possible to Laminate and Image first and then put Resin over it?
Yes, you can do that.
@@ResinObsession thank you 🙏
I've never done paper mache, but I know Mod Podge comes in several different finishes -- gloss, matte, semi gloss, etc.

Why not just use clear tape from both sides of the papers? seems much easier.
You can. I show that technique in a different video: ua-cam.com/video/86R7QBst4_o/v-deo.html Both ways work well.
Can I use Aleene's tacky glue?
I haven't tried that glue. I don't know how well it would work.

What have you tried to use to clean your paint brush?
Hello, is the glue you are using regular white glue?

So, why not just mod podge it and be done? Why 1 coat of glue, cut, then another? Just curious if this way does or does not work, thanks!
Two coats of glue are to make sure you have good coverage.

girl just laminate the image

For paper? Varnish seems like overkill to me.

Thanks!
would laminating the paper work?
Yes, you can do that.
You're quite welcome! If you have any suggestions for videos you would like me to do, let me know. :)
How do you get the paper from curling up when the resin is applied (I’m using uc resin)
I'm not sure what's going on. I don't experience that problem.
I am wondering if Laminating is better...
You can do that too.
Will clear glue work?
a clear-drying white glue will work.
What type of sealer did you use?
Hi Karen, we have a couple in our store that I use: shop.resinobsession.com/collections/tools-and-supplies/sealants-and-polishers
Will this work on a watercolor paper?
Yes, it should.
which kind of modge podge is used
I used the gloss formula.
oh
ok
when i used the mod podge it bled and also changed the color from black to brown and sometimes a light blue. can't understand what i am doing wrong.

Has anyone tried distress micro glaze to seal paper for resin
