I'm a Black American and was stationed for two years in Germany. I can't remember facing any racism. I practically had my pick of any German women. They love Black men American and African.
We Indians are worst racist. We are divided into many communities among ourselves. Few races have a fake sense of superiority for themselves. Only these people who are from the upper caste ( higher race) complains about racism in Europe or America because in those advanced countries no one gives any importance to them and they felt offended.
We Indians should be least worried about segregation due to ethnicity. In fact we have a variety of them in India, we are treated differently based on our Religion, caste, location and even surname 😅. So us being worried about people treating us differently sounds ironic to me. Also, the incident you spoke about, was wrong from that old lady's part, but don't we see that happening in India almost everyday.

That’s what I have seen in my two years living in Germany. However, good and bad people are everywhere. Not every American also says hello to everyone. Even there would’ve been most of the people who might be rude for no reason at all.

When u take Flix bus or RE, ICE & S Bahn there is so many checks. At times it’s annoying.
