This looks like the perfect antenna design for the dreaded HOA problem. Thanks for all the tips.😁 Ok so if I use a 4 inch pipe with 2 inch aluminum tape maybe I could work the 20 meter band? Can you suggest number of turns? Is the spacing also 2 inches?
While aluminum has a significantly higher DC resistance than copper, it has a greater RF conduction depth for a given frequency than copper does, so it is nearly as conductive to RF as copper is.
i am Suhail HZ1si from Saudi Arabia Thank U for the demonstration many Antennas Manufacture speaks about Gain (Fine) ... but tell less about Radiation Angle ? (Shortened Dipole = 1.6 dBi) .... VS ... (J-Pole = 2.1 dBi) mmmm seems a trivial ... Not big deal .. i would consider it as connector or cable lose ... But here is the Big question >>> 1.6 dBi @ (What Radiation angle ??) ... Vs ... (J-Pole = 2.1 dBi @ 5 or less degrees radiation Angle)..

You'd have to check with Mr. Portune. He's the expert. Thanks for your interest and the comment!
@@DigiCommCafe how does one contact Mr Portune?
His email address in on is QRZ page.
How much could an 80 meter antenna be shortened if it was a helix antenna using cardboard tubing concrete forms?

Is this technically a slot antenna?
No, it's a dipole in the shape of a coil with enough spacing so it doesn't load up like a coil.
i think (Not Sure) the Narrower Bandwidth = has Less interference = hence less Noise @ Rx
Don't U think ?
Very good educational video

how do you calculate the feed point on the 6 meter?

Thank U for the demonstration

any dipole at the same height and freq would have similar radiation angles
Absolutely HORRIBLE audio. Was he using an ancient 1983 mobile phone?
Thank you for the very kind observation. You are an asset to society. We need more insightful people like you. Your comment is much appreciated.
