I’m glad you changed gears there. I was waiting to see the Sawyer senior Sawyer that is fall asleep with the last year on. I almost quit watching. It was going so slow. But I’m back God bless. 🇨🇦✌️
Nice work gents!
Thank you.
@@redstemorchard I really like the cost breakdown at the end.
@@CorwinBos I almost didn't put it in there, but I figured there would be somebody like me who might want to know for reference sake.😉
Try a diesel drip. I know diesel cost a little more but a gallon will cut all day at a drop or 2 a second. It's a real game changer. I use a cooks sawmill and it wipes the lube on the blade but friends of mine just drip it. That build was awesome 👍, Couldn't imagine taking that on. Awesome job. Faster you can cut and cut straight the longer your blades will last. I've had good luck with pine at 7 ded. Set to 28 to 30 thou. A good band sharpener is worth the money. Undertaking a build like that just blows my mind. Just subscribed 😜

@@willcoe8419 Thanks for tip. Pop actually looked at buying an MP32 from Cooks, but they had a huge lead time. So....... Yeah he built one. I think we have a 7 deg blade left to try that. Has 10*on it now. As far as diesel I would agree, but.... We have rubber belted band wheels, and there is a concern about break down. I know Cooks recommends it with their steel wheels. We may be upgrading to those in the near future.
@@redstemorchard got friends who run belts and diesel. When you drip it it gets carried away with the sawdust. Check out hobby hardwood. He runs an lt 70 with belted wheels and swears by it. Keeps blades clear and rust free. Much easier to sharpen and set.
@@willcoe8419 Cool, I will talk to Pop about that. We have discussed that before, but for some reason went to the water/soap combo. Maybe over concern for belts degrading. Thanks for the advice. 👍
Liking the mill videos man. Keep them coming!
You got it. I have a lot more lumber to make. Flooring, siding, interior etc.......
Nice job Alex. You, your son and Pops are living the dream that us city folks crave for. I can’t wait till you start building again. A belated Merry Christmas 🎄 and a happy new year brother 👋🏻
Thanks.
It's sad to me that the Lumber mill around the corner from my home is closed and they're turning the land into a development. Anderson Lumber Co., in Forsyth County.
I like your channel. Great job on the sawmill! I've noticed some sawyers that do not have debarkers flip the log 90 degrees so only the first cut goes through bark to save blade life. Would this method work for you?
We are looking at changing the design of the uprights, and that would allow us to be able to do that very thing you are suggesting. Right now, it just doesn't hold the log stable enough. Pop has talked about a debarker, but no plans yet..........
Does Pop count as a variable speed mechanism when he fiddles with the controls?
Ummm, yes. We have dual speed control. Pops hand, and the knob😉
Is it possible to get the plans for your saw.?
