@@akirebara and honestly from the outside looking in... my friends’ new lives as mothers with small children seem so incredibly *boring.* I obviously hope they are happy but *GOD* do I not envy them
It is true women don't have to lay on their back to give birth and for most of history didn't, but it's actually (thankfully) a myth that women only started giving birth laying down because King Louis XIV had a birthing fethish. The rumor only started because King Louis XIV wanted do be present with his wives while they gave birth, which was unheard of at the time so of course everyone spread the rumor that he was a pervert.
OMFG I was thinking the same thing? Like I'm pretty sure I've seen it come up in documentaries a couple of times, that our hominid ancestors would squat down to have their babies and that that pose is still practiced in some cultural groups today... It makes total sense too, that way you'd have gravity helping things along and you'd get things aligned better, idk, it makes sense to me
They should correct this and reupload, millions of people are gonna watch this. Trixie was born and raised in the woods, of course she knew the right way
Giving birth in a squatting position was much less painful for me. In fact, I found that my period cramps were more painful than actual childbirth. However, I was in labor for 24 hours even after being induced. So, Trixie is right on the money.
Wow! 24 hours, respect! I was in labor for 36+ hours ( I had a kidney infection too! ) It was becoming so unbelievably unbearable that I asked for a C-section because each contraction was pressing on my left kidney ( the bad one )! 😭 The nurse probably thought I was joking ( as if I was in the mood )... She said « We don’t joke around with C-sections! It’s only when the baby or the mother is in danger ( or both )! » All I got was a morphine shot in the butt cheek. Pfft! Then, they did the epidural but THEY MISSED! I told the anesthesiologists but they didn’t believe me and put ice on my womb to test me. When they saw my reaction, they looked at each other like « Oops! », and gave me another one ( thankfully successful ). Oh, the trauma! Therefore, she will be my only child and NOTHING will ever change my mind!!
My aunt had 7 children, for the fourth's birth she yelled at the nurses and doctors to leave her be and that she could do it herself. she decided to have the last three at birth centers with midwives. She did have her husband get a vasectomy after they had the seventh.(6&7 happened even though she was on birth control) The oldest is 26 and the youngest is 8.
Just a comment to the editors, what Trixie is saying is valid. Childbirth can take place in a variety of positions and it really is (or should be) driven by the comfort of the delivering person. Historically speaking, the current position we (Americans) use is for the ease of the doctors, not the delivering person. I've given birth twice and, just for me, it was really validating to have Trixie speak on the current state of childbirth in our culture. Also, those biological women turned some gorgeous looks this episode.
THIS!!! fuck the doctor's comfort. this is why doulas are so important - to be an advocate for their patient, so the patient can't be bullied into anything they don't want, any so she can be given the best options for HER!
100% agree. while it’s important to work alongside a medical team in the case of an emergency i really feel like childbirth needs to revolve around the birth giver. it’s important to ensure they’re comfortable and ease any stress to help them have as easy of a labor experience that’s possible. when i’m older and possibly decide to have a child i’ll likely have a home water-birth with a doula.

I screamed like someone had just sliced into my vagina with no pain relief. Because they fucking did. Also it was *nothing* compared to gallbladder pain.
Omg! This is so similar to my experience! I labored for so long the epidural wore off (!!) and I felt the full force of the very strongest contractions. No episiotomy, but I tore (yep) and was fully hallucinating because of the BP meds I was on. But even considering ALLLLLL of that, I'd do that again before I'd go anywhere near gallbladder pain. The gallbladder easily, EASILY, outstripped anything I felt in labor.
I had a massive heart attack that nearly killed me about three years ago, crushing chest pains, arms, jaw, hand, the lot - gallbladder pain was still worse! But I think I’d still sooner do that than scissors to the vag if I had one! You did well to not kick the doctor in his throat!
I had several bounds of kidney stone attacks from age 16 to 20 and still the worst pain I've ever felt is my period cramps every month. Also I very much agree with Katya about not allowing anyone inflicting physical pain in relationships. I had a friend once who would occassionally slap me in the face "for fun" even though I told her I don't like that. We were in the same class so I couldn't just never see her again but I sure did stop talking to her and pretended she doesn't exist.
If your cramps are that painful, you almost definitely have a condition. 1 in 10 women have endometriosis. I am no doctor, I just have multiple friends with endometriosis. So, you probably want to talk to a doctor about it.
For all my polycystic sisters out there the rupturing of a cyst is THE worst pain imaginable, I haven’t heard from one person who’s had a cyst ruptured with a worse pain than that. Sending love to all those in pain, cysters or not 🙏
A f$&@ing men. I was scared of childbirth if a burst cyst was this bad. I was very pleasantly surprised and relieved to find out childbirth was NOTHING compared. I kept waiting for it to be even a fraction as painful. Never happened. Childbirth is like an orgasm compared to a cyst bursting. Easily.
The pain isn’t the worst part. It’s the heart racing faster than you think you can survive, the passing out, the extreme nausea that sometimes makes you vomit WHILE you have uncontrollable diarrhea and sweats so bad you soak through your clothes and drip on the floor. The first few times it happened I lay passing out on the bathroom floor telling myself “this is it. This is your last few moments and you’re too weak to call out to say goodbye”. I honestly thought childbirth was going to be worse than THAT. So yeah. That should put it in perspective.
Fun fact: it's easier for the baby to come out when the woman is crouched. As our bodies evolved to become bipedal, the birthing canal became smaller so it's harder to push out the baby, and laying on your back does not help. Plus, hospitals are notorious for giving a chain of medicine that eventually make the doctor's perform a c-section. One hospital in NYC had an influx of c-sections at times when doctor's are scheduled to get off their shift (c-sections are faster so the doctor can go home)
That's disgusting!!! Don't even get me started on the "husband stitch" and the misogynistic myth that a vagina gets looser after childbirth. Apparently the tightness goes back to normal after a couple weeks!!
I don't know why, but the thought of Trixie and Katya leaving the drag on while chilling at home - that makes me very happy. These biological women are super talented at putting looks together, they should enjoy them!
noo the editing, trixie was actually speaking the truth about womens bodies for once haha!! yes we are definitely meant to give birth that way, the hospital way is just better for doctors, not for the women!!
@@zlis4536 chill out, they weren't saying anything inaccurate and it's important to remember that not all woman can give birth (including cis women, I probably can't get pregnant because of health reasons), and not all people who give birth are women :)
@@zlis4536 two things can be true at once dude, no need to get so upset. Yes, there is a ton of misogyny in the medical community, specifically related to the topic of giving birth, and also some trans people give birth so these things do affect us too. That person was just giving a small reminder that not everyone who gives birth is a woman.
It’s too bad that people, mostly women, get shamed for choosing to be childless or for choosing adoption over creating a new human with some of their own genetics. It’s no one’s business how you choose to build your family - or not - so just ignore those who feel the need to comment on your parental status. It’s definitely not for everyone. Do what’s right for you and don’t listen to anyone else; they aren’t living your life.
@@porbidapastelann Right, since high school ended and well life moved on. A whole bunch of my friends had a bunch of kids, even got partners. Now I know their lives more intimately because of messages or calls, to my family they see happy wife with happy husband and happy kids. Now why aren't you like them? If only they knew, they'd also know how annoying they sound. 😑
She was so right about the birth position I once had a whole two hour lecture on it and the mortality and morbidity rates for births in the U.S. Our hospitality systems are set up as bed spaces that have timers and their so much everyone should read into. Like once you’ve surpasses a certain time frame your given drugs that induces labor which their are a lot of statistics about the risks which are too high. From a sociological perspective you can compare the popular birth systems around the world and how they compare. Once your done comparing you can that here we have a large population of hospitals births in comparison to other countries. It goes on and on 🤧Anyways love you ladies 🥰
And the kicker is you have to pay for the privilege. It’s all a money making thing over there. I had both my kids in the UK, delivered by a midwife in hospital, one on my hands and knees and one squatting. We even are allowed to have a birth plan so we can dictate how the Labour goes. And we only get an epidural if we really need one or need a C-section.
Same for me, and I don't even got endometriosis or polycystic ovaries syndrome (idk if that is the correct term in English), I heard it is so much worse for girls who have it.
It’s always funny. I always love this show, but it’s extra nice to actually have episodes recently that I can really relate to...teachers/pain....I’m a retired Eng/ESL/Drama HS teacher and chronic pain patient for 18 yrs so this was interesting and super funny. PS Trixie was correct about the best position for giving birth...not “ignorant” at all. I have 2 sons her age💖
as a woman i’m with katya, giving birth sounds like literal torture hellscape disgusting experience and i personally never want to have a child but i have such insane respect for every woman who wants and has children thank you mother for having me but it ends here
I was watching past episodes and there was one where she said "I can't entertain that a woman can't have a baby at any age she wants" (and Katya was like "oh Nononononono") her knowledge on women's bodies is all over the place but I actually find it so funny.
I like how the 'Wow Help Me' bits are in the middle of the episode in this season. That might be because I have some sort of trauma, knowing the episode is about to end. But since this season I know that we have more to come and it makes me really happy.
This is amazing because despite Trixie being the farthest thing from a medical professional she is absolutely right about the most natural position for having a baby 👶
My mom was in labor for 40 hours when she was having my little brother, my second eldest brother was sideways and the doctor had to reach in to turn him the right way, and I was born in a bathtub while my mom ate a Whopper from Burger King. Crazy how wild birth can be.

That's disgusting!!! Don't even get me started on the "husband stitch" and the misogynistic myth that a vagina gets looser after childbirth. Apparently the tightness goes back to normal after a couple weeks!!
This is unhhhh bestie
How have they not discussed this earlier, they are literally in pain.
Are we not gonna talk about the old people biting into orange peels like it’s an apple 😫💀
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS
Ikr😭
I just want to say thank you for pointing it out cause god damn what the fuck😂💀
Truly haunting
Ahahahahahaah I am so glad someone else was equally horrified as I was 😆 😂
I don't know why, but the thought of Trixie and Katya leaving the drag on while chilling at home - that makes me very happy. These biological women are super talented at putting looks together, they should enjoy them!
They have literally gone post verbal in the intro, as they said they would in Ep. 1
Came to say this and glad to see someone else already has 🙇
When I’m older, I want to have Katya’s style and wardrobe.
Shes gorgeous!!!!
@@ggibson262 yes! she’s everything I want to be when I’m 57🥰🤩
Why wait, just embrace the tender elderly chainsmoking lesbian in you today
I wanted her style when I was 17, I just didn't know the footwear existed!
i have wait so long for another “honeyyyy” moment. finally, inner peace.
Lady's and gentlemen welcome to the stage *Katpiss Buttercream*
i was so expecting them to say that
The Incomparable
The Legendary…
The Dancing Diva herself.....
I wanted them to say that so much. So I paused it and said it myself 😂
noo the editing, trixie was actually speaking the truth about womens bodies for once haha!! yes we are definitely meant to give birth that way, the hospital way is just better for doctors, not for the women!!
not all women have female assigned bodies though and not all men have male assigned bodies as well
@@chlstn we're talking about misogyny, not transphobia. shut up and stop making everything about yourself for once
@@zlis4536 THANK YOU!!
I love how Trixie thinks about things specifically to make Katya laugh

Katniss Buttercream sounds like the name of a creepy pastry with Katniss' face drawn on it, that Peeta would create if she never married him
Omg stop 😂😂
Why is this so accurate 🤣🤣🤣
And then do the sex to it under a niche pornhub category

Let’s have a moment of appreciation for how good Trixie looks in this episode....
Thank you.
I can’t get over how pretty Trixie is in this video! She looks like an actual Barbie!
"I do not understand why a woman would have a baby"
Me, only wanting to adopt: "same"
Me, childfree; same
It’s too bad that people, mostly women, get shamed for choosing to be childless or for choosing adoption over creating a new human with some of their own genetics. It’s no one’s business how you choose to build your family - or not - so just ignore those who feel the need to comment on your parental status. It’s definitely not for everyone. Do what’s right for you and don’t listen to anyone else; they aren’t living your life.
SAMEE I was like I don’t get the hype either lol
@@pinkmonkeybird2644 the worse part is your family pressuring you to have babies. Like Linda, have you met me? Hahahaha no babies
@@leamartin8392 wow! That’s awesome. Love that they did what was best for you. America is fucked
4:18 so we’re all gonna ignore that old guy taking a bite of the orange *through the peel*
“Piss right back Bitch” is probably the best advice Katya has ever given us
I've broken my nose, i've smashed my head open, but still the worst pain i've ever felt is period cramps
wait until the contractions start. once they're every 3 minutes .. it dawns on you the actual delivery is going to be even MORE PAINFUL 😱

Same for me, and I don't even got endometriosis or polycystic ovaries syndrome (idk if that is the correct term in English), I heard it is so much worse for girls who have it.

Katya is absolutely stunning. The hair, the makeup, the outfit, all amazing.
Trixie looks like a baby doll I had at age four. 😩❤

@@jthall1039 Oh really? Thank you I didn't know that
It’s always funny.
This is wholesome❤️❤️
Trixie's makeup is STUN this episode
“If you were my fever demon, I’d thank God.” That’s really fucking sweet. 🥺
as a woman i’m with katya, giving birth sounds like literal torture hellscape disgusting experience and i personally never want to have a child but i have such insane respect for every woman who wants and has children thank you mother for having me but it ends here
I hated myself for a while, but I never got low enough to want to induce that kind of torture on myself.
Absolutely adoring both of their looks in this one 😍
Katya's dress is actually making noise on the mic - LEGEND
trixie’s ‘i thought of that yesterday and thought it would get you’ is everything
Katya is slowly slipping back into saying mmmmhhh... Oh God, I love her
I clocked that as well, but I’m gonna let Katya live because it’s her show and not ours.
"Molly, you in danger girl"

The way Trixie was right and women didn't actually used to give birth on their backs😂

But since this season I know that we have more to come and it makes me really happy.
trixie’s makeup looks SO GOOD in this episode
"ASK YOUR DOCTOR IF CANCELLING A DRAG QUEEN IS RIGHT FOR YOU"!!!!! The fandom is shooketh!!!
This is amazing because despite Trixie being the farthest thing from a medical professional she is absolutely right about the most natural position for having a baby 👶
I am amazed that it’s taken this long to do “pain”.
My mom was in labor for 40 hours when she was having my little brother, my second eldest brother was sideways and the doctor had to reach in to turn him the right way, and I was born in a bathtub while my mom ate a Whopper from Burger King. Crazy how wild birth can be.

Trixie's intro line had me like Katya, this really is the show for stoners.
The worst pain was seeing those clips of a cup of orange juice overflowing and the old people eating oranges with the rind
Trixie is spitting facts about oranges here. Also great watermelon and cucumber. Most fruits and vegetables have lots of hydration which is what keeps you full
