The BEST tip that I have discovered that has helped so so so much is to take the time to review your lessons that you have learned everyday! Cloudia_ Breeze that's legit what happened in my maths exam today.. there was a graph with a shaded region which was kinda shaped like a bowl. the x and y axis were labeled and that's it.. no numbers to work with at all.. then it expected me to work out the depth
I condensed the video for you :D 1. Study in small short chunks (eg 20 mins each day) 2.Get Sleep and set specific time for studying (eg set revision time to 3-4pm) 3. Don’t passively read notes/books as it’s proven ineffective (use flashcards instead) 4. Aim for specific goals/section the revision (eg science equations only) 5. Teaching what you’re revising is proven more effective 6. Practice the topics over and do past exam papers 7. Have a designated spot with all the materials needed to prime your brain for revision (eg have revision books and equipment needed) 8. Don’t listen to music while revising as it’s proven ineffective 9. Put away your phone/distractions for focused revision sessions
1) Small short chunks and not long periods of time, spread it for a few weeks of 20-30 minutes 2) Don't study all night 3) Flash cards 4) Explain it to others 5) Practice 6) Designated place of studying 7) Put away the phone

I used to see writing in books as despicable. It wasn't until I got a copy of a book meant to look like one of Harry Potter's textbooks. The Hogwarts textbook had little notes and drawings in it that made it personal to Ron and Harry. In secondary school I started getting used textbooks or borrowing old textbooks from the library, occasionally I would see where another student made a reference to an important point that the textbook had made overly complicated or worded poorly. You know that whole: if you have a question in class, someone else does too, and the good thing about question is that you need to know something to ask something... well with that, those little notes in used textbooks made it as if I was studying with someone (without the distractions of someone being there). It helped me formulate my own questions. In College, when I had to purchase my own books, I avoided defacing them for the longest time for resale value; except, for how many hundreds of dollars have I spent on books, and by the next year, they're obsolete... I might as well get my money's worth out of them and make my books work for me. Now I will purposefully look for used textbooks with notes in them. (Also because textbooks are expensive AF!) I do not deface my regular books/novels though.

I'm legitimately planning on uploading what I'm supposed to learn onto my UA-cam channel and then watching it over cuz that's how much I need UA-cam. I'm addicted. I spent about 6 to 8 hours on UA-cam...a day
+Poppin DEEZNUTS to do lists helped me a lot..like bullet journals or whatever. It feels nice to tick something off..i procrastinate with youtube and facebook a lot so I tend to deactivate stuff, turn off notifications and force myself to do a small task then reward myself after
I was listening to a podcast that said, “it’s important to live life by design rather than emotion. Basically, sticking to a routine is what allows us to be the healthiest version of ourselves (especially when you're fighting these demons ex. OCD for me). I made the most healthy+lasting changes in my life when I began practising mediocre consistency. Now I try to put in consistent 40-60% effort into my habits (ex. journaling/working out) - to make sure I do it I began recording it and posting it on my youtube channel. Because historically I have a habit of going too hard, not being able to sustain the Herculean effort, giving up and hating myself. So now I’m trying to give a small-ish, consistent mediocre effort everyday. And its crazy how it adds up.
I did! But then I still have my UA-cam account so boo... Too bad my teachers don't test us on ASAP science stuffs. Would have aced that class for sure!
1:14 hold up buddy. I go over everything because my professors do NOT tell us specifically what's gonna be on the exam. It's basically like "Everything and anything could be on this exam, so good luck." So I don't know what's important and what isn't.
Highlighting actually helps me a lot with remembering important info. Just dont use too many colors because it can be distracting. A red gel pen works for me best
Perhaps it is not the studying itself that can be detrimental, but the simultaneous anxiety/stress/psychology that people create in addition. Thoughts like "omg I have sooo much to study I cant do it" might be of more concern than actually studying in a relaxed way ;) but I'm no expert, I just think it's interesting to think about that
i think yes because i once had depression when studying and i start to cry and scribble word like "help" on the ppaper but then i was like "what am i doing" and i choose to sleep. it helped a lot tho.

I use flash cards. But that's not where it ends, I have a real good study tip for you so listen up. I pay a group of 10 midgets to stand around me and show me the flash cards, if I answer incorrectly they savagely brutalise me with moistened cucumbers.
To me I honestly prefer studying at night bc it helps me remember rather than studying during the day. Is it linked to how I’m more of a night time person? But I also agree studying 30 minutes a day instead of 10 hours at once is better too!
I actually listen to music when I study. It’s not classical, nor is it anything with lyrics. I need the beat in the background almost as a motivation method. The happier the music is, the more motivation I have.
As a science teacher with a UA-cam channel and extensive experience, I feel that kids are able to imbibe concepts better through the use of mind maps similar to the ones demonstrated on my UA-cam channel Science Excel.
If you know a lot about music and analyzing chords, rhythms, harmonies, etc. then music is one of the worst distractions from studying because, for my experience, all I'm thinking is "That transition from A to C minor was interesting," or "The song has switched to 5/4 meter time." Also, I feel like some of the things people tell you about how to study are Placebo tests that trick your brain into thinking you're improving your study practices...
Personally, without music i get crazy studying, it is perfect to stay entretained while still studying, you will end the year dead and with 0 motivation to study anymore if you associate studying with awful experiences
1. Pomodoro 2. Active Learning - flash cards 3. Goal for study sessions 4. Expect to teach it to others 5. Practice test 6. Dedicated study locations 7. No phone and music 8. Specific time of day
Ronnie O'Sullivan_Fan 147 Nah, I find it easier to understand stuff...otherwise what's the point? But...when I can't understand anything...I memorize lol
I love this tip list! I especially like how the narrator pointed out in tip 3 that you can't "passively read your notes." I strive to teach this to my students! Passively reading does nothing for memory and cognition, so it is vital to take notes actively and read actively!
Timestamps: 0:15- Studying 30 minutes 0:40- Cramming all-nighters is bad 1:04- Re-reading and highlighting notes is bad 1:29- Have a study goal 1:43- Study like you have to teach it to a group of people 2:01-Practice, Practice, Practice 2:15- Have your own spot for studying 2:26- Studying without music helps you focus better 2:42- Put away your phone or any distractions Hope this helps you save time and hope you do well in your test/exam!!
Writting has always worked for me. When you write summaries, you are most likely to remember what you wrote since you had to choose what to overlook and what actually matters. Also, instead or writting whole long sentences, use keywords for easier memorization or understanding.
Study and practice can only do you so much. It's how you took in that information when you studied. You can read a book as much as you like, but if don't recall the page you last read on, then you're not reading. Id like to introduce a memory system called A.O.D.I.T Account On Details with Individual mental Triggers This system helps with memories. Its Finding a way for memories to occur. So, when you are studying about Chemicals, and you had to remember the element with the atomic number. Such as let's say Gold, and you remember Au for the element, but don't remember the Number. The best way for you to remember, is with a physical trigger that can cause the memory of the number to occur. Such as: Clap, snapping you fingers, Pound on something, or even a gesture. As long as you can create a function that will trigger the memory. Now, for individual triggers that is meant for numerous amounts of things to remember, like you remember How the first World War started, but you cant remember the exact name of the person who died, who the shooter was, and the how US was Brought into it.. And it's not a multi choice so it's not Gunna be easy to Know without the name popping up in front of you. Away to remember all of this is by a visual aspect of the name, not the memory of the name. Take a thin piece of papier and write down Gavtilo Princip. Now hold it to your phone, now take the light of the phone an pass it by once or twice, and i Don't mean turning on you flashlight of the phone on and off, i mean waive the screen light of the phone behind a few times. If you can see somewhat of colors or a picture of what was on the phone through the papier of Gavril Princip, than you at least did something productive while in a chair for three hours. No, in all seriousness, if you at least remember three letters of Gavril Princip and remember a color or a part of a Picture that was on your phone through your papier, then this will trigger a quick flash in you head what of "Not the Exact Name" that is Gravil Proncip, But a name that looks like Gravil Princip. Mainly cuz if you Keep seeing Ravid Principi over and over but it isn't still clicking, then with a hard long think youll the remember it. This is a old system Not much knows about. There are similar Variation people applie to it, but this is a way of helping with studieng.
I used to get As that way, now i started to study like 3 days before an exam, and i just get B and C sometimes, trust me, these guides are just nothing more than a talk, in reality, its all bullshit.
Something that seems to help is listening to game soundtracks , it's made to keep you focussed (at least most are) so it's makes it easier to keep on going (at least that what I found ) Note : avoid music with singing or songs that you already know out of your head , you'll focus on singing / humming along or (in my case ) translating what's said .
Oh and when learning a language you should listen to music or watch video's in that language in your free time( make sure they use the langauge proberly first) , also try to read little thing in that language and mabye ever write something , get to know it farder than what you read in your texbook .
Hearing what you said from 0:51 to 1:03 reminds me of the fact studying near the sunlight is good for our brain when studying. According to that fact "Studying nearby sunlight", should I be setting up a time to study once I can see the sunlight? If so, should we face the window where the sunlight is coming through or should we turn our back towards the window where the sunlight is coming through? Thank you.
TEACH WHAT YOU’RE LEARNING!! grab your sibling or friend or some stranger and teach them about the topic you’re studying!! it will help so so so much not only to be able to remember the material but also to reach a deeper understanding of it !! i also love doing “casual lessons” with people where you explain things in hyperbolic simplicity, which usually ends in a lot of laughs and a fun understanding of the topic. (personal fave is “so Cesar goes ‘um what are all of you doing with those knives?’”)

The best tip would be on how to get rid of my procrastination.
+Poppin DEEZNUTS Yes.
+Poppin DEEZNUTS to do lists helped me a lot..like bullet journals or whatever. It feels nice to tick something off..i procrastinate with youtube and facebook a lot so I tend to deactivate stuff, turn off notifications and force myself to do a small task then reward myself after
+Cameron Murray Well... when that happens I just daydream.
impossible
+Cameron Murray but if it still distracts you, then remove your computer monitor. simple.
How many are there like me who watched this video due to study procrastination...
Lol I should be doing homework right now
Melanie Celaya then do ur fking homework
21funnybunny Lol I finished
Melanie Celaya same lol
sarah albassam Haha stupid UA-cam
Melanie Celaya me too hindi homework
my teachers can't teach, so i use youtube tutorials and the internet to teach myself. then i eventually end up distracting myself
Mitali Vaidya sometimes I do that 😂😂
True that.
I can relate
Me too
Can’t do 30 min sessions when ur teacher tells u ur test is in 3 days
You can if you do 5 30 minute session a day
@asapscience Hey I have a burning question how do deaf people think, if they do. I Googled it but I want an in depth explanation
Of course they think but I presume it's with images, not words
+Don Rickles wow, great question
+Lexi H I think that's only with people who are born deaf, people who become deaf in their lifetimes think with words
deaf people have words too, but they aren't in a auditory firm. They don't hear words in their head, they see them.
sorry for my mediocre English
Lexi H I cant wrap my mind around that, they think with images?
I never study.
+Nitin Origami haha lol :)
*****
I never needed to, in fact if I study I usually get a lower grade.

How to study effectivaly? Delete your Steam account.
+Swagzilla NEVAH!
Why would someone delete $1000?
Simon L
I know it's hard ;_;
The funny thing, for me, is that Steam is a valuable source of reverence material; so I have absolutely no reason to delete it. :p
Lol me too

My maths teaching is doing it to us now. And I have a maths test (mock) tomorrow

Excuse me while I show number 3 to EVERY SINGLE ENGLISH TEACHER I HAVE EVER HAD!!!

that's English teachers in a nutshell
I feel you bro XD

Highlighting actually helps me a lot with remembering important info. Just dont use too many colors because it can be distracting. A red gel pen works for me best
is there a possible that studying too much can make you insane or crazy? is it similar to anxiety?
Perhaps it is not the studying itself that can be detrimental, but the simultaneous anxiety/stress/psychology that people create in addition. Thoughts like "omg I have sooo much to study I cant do it" might be of more concern than actually studying in a relaxed way ;) but I'm no expert, I just think it's interesting to think about that
For me, yes.
go for superlearning 2000 search that on search bar
if you're passionate and obsessed with what you're studying then yes! but im not saying that it's bad
i think yes because i once had depression when studying and i start to cry and scribble word like "help" on the ppaper
but then i was like "what am i doing"
and i choose to sleep. it helped a lot tho.
Why is it easier to watch study videos instead of studying
Gemma Joikhun IKR😔😞😂

Great video and tips, especially number 5. Students definitely learn more when you ask them to teach to their peers

I think you may be onto something here.
I use flash cards. But that's not where it ends, I have a real good study tip for you so listen up. I pay a group of 10 midgets to stand around me and show me the flash cards, if I answer incorrectly they savagely brutalise me with moistened cucumbers.
Señor Buttface XD
Señor Buttface oh thanks boi
I'm watching this video to procrastinate

same 😂 I have many homeworks
lol......seriously?
LESS WORK 36•/• chance on working
To me I honestly prefer studying at night bc it helps me remember rather than studying during the day. Is it linked to how I’m more of a night time person? But I also agree studying 30 minutes a day instead of 10 hours at once is better too!
Science is fun and freaking easy, but physic is like……damn
Irene 02 physics is my fav..but i hate chem
ill do your homework and u can do mine lol
Irene 02 hehe ;p
Irene 02 if u have any doubt in phys u can ask me ;)

Yay AsapSCIENCE is helping us get our grades up :D
I study, take a test, then forget everything I learned afterward because I have no use for it anymore.

I actually listen to music when I study. It’s not classical, nor is it anything with lyrics. I need the beat in the background almost as a motivation method. The happier the music is, the more motivation I have.
Oh gawd school starts on September 8th for me I don't wanna go back ahah
+Pythagoras Dupree™ mine is the ninth, the grade nines have the first day for them selves
aw good luck
OMG mine does too! Oh gosh I'm scared help me! :(

As a science teacher with a UA-cam channel and extensive experience, I feel that kids are able to imbibe concepts better through the use of mind maps similar to the ones demonstrated on my UA-cam channel Science Excel.
Studying makes me cry.
Ummmmm😬 So can other things. Imma go with the other things lol.
+sue lopez the more you study, the more chances u can get your dream future
+Jayden Bunny true dat, I tought about that for hours a couple days ago!

"Hmm, I should watch a video about studying"
*12 hours later*
"Omg! There's a my little pony season 5 opening remix??!!?!"
lMAO
If you know a lot about music and analyzing chords, rhythms, harmonies, etc. then music is one of the worst distractions from studying because, for my experience, all I'm thinking is "That transition from A to C minor was interesting," or "The song has switched to 5/4 meter time."
Also, I feel like some of the things people tell you about how to study are Placebo tests that trick your brain into thinking you're improving your study practices...
Personally, without music i get crazy studying, it is perfect to stay entretained while still studying, you will end the year dead and with 0 motivation to study anymore if you associate studying with awful experiences
Luka Puka true😭😭😭

I live my life by memorizing when I study...probs a bad idea since once I hand in the test, everything I memorized goes out of my brain
Kristy Cheung Same
Me too xD
I hate it when I have everything memorized but once it's time for the test, I can't remember anything xP
Ronnie O'Sullivan_Fan 147 Nah, I find it easier to understand stuff...otherwise what's the point? But...when I can't understand anything...I memorize lol
Kristy Cheung that's me right now lol
I simply do 15/5, 15 minutes study/work and 5 minutes phone/ computer time. I can’t really focus for long so this helps me a TON!
Hi
I love this tip list! I especially like how the narrator pointed out in tip 3 that you can't "passively read your notes." I strive to teach this to my students! Passively reading does nothing for memory and cognition, so it is vital to take notes actively and read actively!
whats passively reading
@@sienna1292 It means that you do not engage with the text in any way apart from the very act of reading.
I wish the best to everyone with their studying! 📚

Writting has always worked for me. When you write summaries, you are most likely to remember what you wrote since you had to choose what to overlook and what actually matters. Also, instead or writting whole long sentences, use keywords for easier memorization or understanding.
i got a math test tommorow and i dont know shit lol :/

my sacred studying place is school, sit up right, breathe and ask questions. being interested in school helps others in class too.
my advice
+JuhaniP That doesn't work past high school lmao.
+ExternusArmy for me it does, lmao
Definitely works for me. Just staying engaged in the class saves me tons of studying time
+SuperSMT exactly! One thing to add I havent brought my phone for 2 years to school, it helps alot.
Study and practice can only do you so much. It's how you took in that information when you studied.
You can read a book as much as you like, but if don't recall the page you last read on, then you're not reading.
Id like to introduce a memory system called
A.O.D.I.T
Account
On
Details with
Individual mental
Triggers
This system helps with memories.
Wow thank you so much for this tip! I'll be using this in my next study session!
my friend only studies the whole night right before the day exam starts and get straight As, pls explain dis shit..
Some people are naturally built that way.
They must have a really good short term memory
he lies....
I used to get As that way, now i started to study like 3 days before an exam, and i just get B and C sometimes, trust me, these guides are just nothing more than a talk, in reality, its all bullshit.
or your friend's a genius, or how the way she / he adapt, and these facts doesn't really apply to all people....
condolences to my accounting exams, I failed 😭
I have accounts exam for CXC in 2 days😭
Zamina Rahim how was it?
Something that seems to help is listening to game soundtracks , it's made to keep you focussed (at least most are) so it's makes it easier to keep on going (at least that what I found ) Note : avoid music with singing or songs that you already know out of your head , you'll focus on singing / humming along or (in my case ) translating what's said .
Oh and when learning a language you should listen to music or watch video's in that language in your free time( make sure they use the langauge proberly first) , also try to read little thing in that language and mabye ever write something , get to know it farder than what you read in your texbook .
Extra tip: memorize all of the Pokemon battle music to play in your head during tests.
TheLowCalCalZoneZone Dear God why , I feel this on a higher level
We watched this in school!
The Kobster nice
