@GameCircleTv oh yeah hands down, I honestly don't even care that all they're making is star ocean games these days. I just wish one would come out at the quality they're capable of. With them being under a mobile game company I just don't have much hope for anything new they do.

Wow, came across this while looking up the Radiata Stories OST. Thanks for the video, I really enjoyed this game during my childhood! Surprised to see people are still talking about this game in 2023.
This and kh2 are tied for my favorite games of all time. It meant so much to me as a kid and i still play through it on my emulators and even have my original ps2 memory stick too
Just remember a studio will never make a new game if they don't think people will buy it, and Radiata didn't sell super well in US on release. I email Both TriAce and Square Enix (SE still owns the rights) saying how much I loved the game and asking for a sequel or new RS content every few months or so so. I recommend people do the same ;)
This is probably the most under rated JRPG, this honestly is my favorite JRPG on the ps2 and I wish I could hit the lottery so I can spend it all on buying the studio who made this game and green light them to make a remake of this game and a sequel.
One of the best games of the PS2 era imo. Very underrated. I would not want a sequel though because the story is stand-alone and had a good ending either way. I would however, wish they made more games like this! The recruiting was so fun...and the characters plus abilities were really cool. If they had expanded on this game, and improved it in the next generations, I would have followed it continuously. Love this game, great storyline and characters. crazy boss fights in the dragon lair, especially the Ethereal Queen, that bitch is HARD!! i wish they would make an anime or something of this, it definitely had the potential!
Radiata Stories was definitely an unappreciated gem, but Square Enix had tri-Ace develop it simply to test how well the PS2 could handle numerous functions and routines, such as the multiple characters' daily schedules. While the game was nothing more than an experiment on their part, it was still quite enjoyable, especially with all the teams you could put together among the many allies to recruit. Sadly, it left behind a lot of unresolved narrative threads and it's unlikely we'll ever see them addressed. Jack and Ridley did make appearances in both Star Ocean Anamnesis (as recruitable allies, but only in the Japanese version) as well as collectable figurines in Star Ocean: The Divine Force. Seems like Square Enix only marginally remembers Radiata Stories existed once. Some of tri-Ace's members still work today as part of a new company, Aiming, and they released an MMO called Caravan Stories some years back. It definitely has Radiata Stories's DNA all over it, with its numerous races, lots of characters to recruit, legendary dragons, and the overall feel to the world of Iyarr. The game is plagued with numerous issues that still persist to this day, but for what it's worth, it's the closest thing we have to a spiritual successor for Radiata Stories.
@@GameCircleTv I hope you find some enjoyment from it. The Radiata feel is definitely there. I've been playing it since 2020 and despite its numerous bugs and crashes, I love the story, world, lore, and characters.
@@GameCircleTv Bad news, my friend. A few days ago, they announced Caravan Stories is going to be shut down next year on March 12th. The game is still playable until then, but all in-game shops in all the towns have been deactivated and evolution materials for characters can no longer be purchased. If you're still looking to play it, now's the time, but there probably won't be too much to do beyond the main storylines and character stories. The plot is still interesting, for as much of it as you can manage to get through.
@@GameCircleTv I don't know what story is left to tell in a sequel game. Maybe they could do something set in the world of Radiata Stories, and with a branched story game like that.
