BROODY HEN AND HER 4 BABY DUCKLINGS

Here are the first naturally hatched ducklings on this farm. betty the hen went broody and was sitting on some hens eggs, I took the eggs away and replaced them with 5 duck eggs.Betty moved her nest and left 1 egg behind, i candled it and it was infertile,. Betty hatched her ducklings on Fathers day, aah what a lovely present..

even roosters get broody. after all, a male bird can do everything a female bird can after the eggs have been laid. from my experience though, the best brood matches are duck-goose and chicken-turkey.

. btw I've a question . do all hens get broody ? I've heard that some special colors or breeds don't get broody ever during their life though they keep having eggs . eh ? is it right ?
