I was serving in the british army at an american army base in germany. This song brings back memorys from that time, i met a few good american soldiers there and this song would play and make me think of home, especially the cold beer on a friday night part

This might be one of the best country songs ever. Whenever I'm on the road and this plays on my mom's song list, I always ask her to turn the volume up. I've always gotten emotional about the part talking about how we should honor those who gave their lives for our country. Having lost family in Vietnam, it hits close to heart

Just joined the Marines and in bootcamp they give us little courses/obstacles. Obviously they challenge us but there was one where we had to transfer “casualties” around the corner. Ofc we’re not getting shot at nor is it a real combat scenario but they introduce their own versions of chaos by tapping people to while in the course to become casualties. This is to build that sense of brotherhood and I’ll tell you that I’ve never felt a stronger sense of appreciation for our men and women in combat. Thank you to all you that have, are and will serve. Thankful to call yall my brothers and sisters 🫡
