Hello Everyone! My name is Jes. I lost my son, Aiden, in 2004. And I AM the woman that Ben sang to in the front. I told him this:
I wrote to you twitter years ago, but you probably dont remember. Thank you for writing Dear Agony. It saved my life.
Ben said it wasnt on the set list, took my hand, looked me in my eyes the entire time as he sang a portion of Dear Agony and almost every fan sang along.
IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING AND PROFOUND EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE, OUTSIDE OF HAVING MY CHILDREN. Ben has been my hero for A LONG TIME. I applaud him so much for doing this. It shows his integrity and humanity as not just a "rock star", but a human being with empathy, love and kindness. Ben will forever be my hero. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR KIND WORDS. Sending you all my love. I fully believe this was Meant to happen, out of all the people in the crowd, Ben found you and did something so amazing for you. I cried when he sang that for you. It was hard to hear what you said while in the crowd, but when I get home and read your story, my heart broke for you, and I’m so so glad Ben picked you out of thousands to sing to. My fiance and I couldn't quite make out what you had said initially (we were back in the rear GA field), but we both heard how Dear Agony saved your life and when Ben finished singing to you, we turned to each other, both saying we got goosebumps. In that moment, all of us experienced something incredibly heavy and moving. I can't even begin to imagine the pain you feel on a daily basis, but I truly hope that that singular moment has helped you heal, if even in a small way.
Very moving and a moment you'll never forget for the rest of your life. I'm happy that a beautiful song can help someone through the hardest of times. Music (and lovely people) really truly do make the world go 'round.

This is one of the most beautiful things I have seen on the internet. I cannot fathom losing a son as a mother but I was a son that lost my mother at a very young age. I was 16 and she was 44 and passed away from cancer. I have battled depression for years and Breaking Benjamin has helped me so much I can't thank Ben enough for what he does for his fans. My heart goes out to the mother that lost her son and I pray that you find the peace and unity in this beautiful song and the unity in sharing each others sorrow and knowing that we are not alone. I was there that night. This was amazing to see live! He could've just said they weren't singing Dear Agony that night and been done with it but the fact that he sang part of it anyway just shows how great of a person he is!

I started really like BB back 2012 when I started flying back forth from PHX to AK for work. Now! I Worship their music and I'm not big on Rock. But I know every darn song now from them. I'm not sure what drew me to this band. But I'm in love with their music and as a band. And when I saw how he was toward U, that is just not common anymore amongst musicians today. I watch this video before and after I have the original song.

I Love Breaking Benjamin’s Song Dear Agony Because In May Of This Year My Brother Went Into The Hospital Because He Felt Like Harming Himself And Then The Hospital Admitted Him To Stay Two Whole Days To Recover And Now He’s Fine And Recovered From It. He Has Anxiety And Depression But He Does Take Medicine For It.
Awww that was a very beautiful moment and that was the sweetest thing ben did, I can’t imagine losing my little sister or my mom but my heart goes out for jes she is a very strong person and dear agony saved my life from my deep depression that I had in 2018 I know it hurts so much to lose a loved one cause I have the same feeling because my friend who was pregnant at the age of 14 passed away I miss her so much and I feel her pain much love and support ❤️❤️❤️❤️
