Lack of Arnav’s redemption , lack of acknowledgment that khushi was the biggest victim , easy brushing of ill treatment from mami to Gupta sisters , never exposing Anjali’s manipulation ( khushi to train La and going behind her family to see Shyam ) ...my list
I understand the whole redemption and change in story was thanks to other factors. It was to hype Anjali's pain that Khushi's character was butchered. Khushi's sacrifices pain was completely overlooked. While Anjali's flaws and manipulation was over looked on the show as well as the audiences find no issues with Anjali.
Exactly! I find it soo weird that the sister who always pray for her brother got jealous watching them together in one of the episodes where she threw away the roses and also in one of the scenes she went right to the hospital to get an abortion without even thinking! Also she forced khushi to train lavanya just for the sake of her brother's marriage.....God i thought anjali is soo matured and good
@@pranathi4620 She was manipulative when she didn't get her way but when it comes to seeing her husband's reality she pretended to not understand. She told Arnav to take the darkness away and make everything like before meaning Khushi was one who brought darkness that's why he called Khushi the biggest mistake of his life and how everything was going so well before she came into their lives
@@radhikab7057 it's ironic that gul made khushi's pain as a joke. There should be an episode where arnav should think all his deeds done to khushi and how he degraded her
Unfortunately she did believe Shyam had changed - she said it multiple times in the show like: "Losing a child could change any man," "Arnav I do think he has changed" "He is Anjali's husband, he has a right to be with her, she needs him" And even Garima tells Shashi, "It's ok [that Shyam is here during the Haldi ritual] Khushi has told us that Shyam has completely changed as a human being" So... *sigh*
I agree with most of what you said about Arnav's behavior being extremely problematic towards Khushi, but I understand why it was written that way because in Arnav's world the biggest trauma he faces was his mother's suicide which eventually took away his entire childhood, and he blames two people for that destruction...His father and the other women so when he assumes that Khushi,a girl he has fallen head over heels for is the reason her sister might suffer the same way his mother suffered he makes takes that decision.Mind you I am not justifying his behavior. But what is absolutely abhorrent is how easily writers forget about Khushi's suffering. The track after Arnav's misunderstandings were cleared should have been about Arnav's redemption and Khushi standing up for herself, which should have included Arnav accepting his fault in front of the entire family and admitting how he manipulated Khushi in marrying him.Khushi,Payal's and their mum Garima's,all their character's were questioned but no body held the people who questioned their character accountable. That was very disturbing. But I won't say that didn't do anything to salvage it.Many people didn't like the Sheetal track and the Miss India track but I liked it because it showed how Arnav evolved as a person.Even when Khushi acted too selfless and naive,Arnav balanced it out. Especially when he challenges her to learn how to say no,even when it's to people you love and respect.
Indeed - Khushi was not treated much as an independent character post wedding so her viewpoint on things, her suffering - very shortchanged. During Sheetal/Miss.India they reduced Khushi's character so we could see how Arnav 'helped' her. So I couldn't enjoy when they made a smart woman an idiot, and then smart again?
So true. All the points are so important as problematic Khushi's character should be more strong they just took it so lightly. Love ipkknd and ARSHI's chemistry but no one cares for khushi always hurt me.
I think khushi needed to have a break from Arnav and his family. She should have actually left the house at moments 1. When Arnav calls her a mistake OR 2. When Arnav doesn't show up to the wedding for long while she is losing her mind. The girl needed some non toxicity. OR 3. When Lavanya and Arnav decided to get engaged. Plz khushi bitiya leave that place! It's embaressing
Great video💖You forgot how they shamed women for wearing "western/revealing clothes"🤦♀ I remember Naani frowning at La for wearing jeans😂 and Khushi was this ideal girl who dressed in salwar kameez and acted like a domesticated woman whereas Lavanya was slammed for being a modern, opinionated woman🤦♀
Hey R and S! I'm sure R must have been very happy with this episode. I also love that it is close to 50 minutes :D I absolutely agree that we have to be mindful of what we are consuming. A healthy dose of criticism is a necessity. Will edit this in a while. :) Khushi's character unfortunately became meek towards the end. They whitewashed her flaws and in the pretence of sainthood lost her charm and fierceness. They didn't allow her to grieve for all that she put up with. In the name of strength and resilience, they ignored the her growth as a character. As a result, we got to see a very superficial character as opposed to what we got a glimpse of during say the resignation. The vulnerability, the strength and self-esteem. Since she is lonely and has abandonment issues, her liking and attraction for A and empathy for him could have led her to internalise all the abuse or aggression and thus, got stuck in a cycle of abuse, self-blame and low self-esteem. However, in this case I wouldn't have rooted for A-K as an endgame. I wish they had shown repentance, learning and growth as well rather than lionising her strength and brushing other things under the carpet. The intricacies could have been dealt with in a delicate manner. I wish they had not gone with a forced marriage. I agree with S that at least this has an explanation albeit it can not undo the wrong that was done. Arnav showed very dark sides when he manipulated to stay in the house and marriage. They over simplified things and that doesn't help their story. He displayed aggression, emotional, verbal and some physical abuse as well. He had shades of narcissism or entitlement that run very deep. I am not sure but I don't remember him feeling any guilt either after scheming against her. He likes controlling everything and that can explain the argument with Shyam and implicit belief that Khushi is his property and he has agency of her. Also, he holds her responsible for everything without telling her enough. That can take its toll on people. Nobody apologised to Khushi, ever. She is treated very poorly. She does a small thing wrong and that snowballs for some reason and everyone holds her accountable. They all believe that she is always at fault regardless of their own actions. They could have tied these ends for sure. There was a certain lack of cohesiveness in the writing. I am not sure when the characters learn about the full story and clear the misunderstandings. Makes me wonder if this happened in the show. The office track was problematic in many ways. Of course, it had stand out scenes but the behaviour exhibited was unprofessional and could lead to lawsuits. I can think of organisations that have a toxic, stifling environment with unrealistic expectations from the employees but these are not explicit. There are so many eyewitnesses and CCTV footage to support K. Shyam wasted a good opportunity to ruin the Raizadas here. He could instigated K to take action and that would have been a more sensible ploy rather than putting a necklace in her bag. La and K should have discussed their frustration of living or working in such a mad house. Well, in our society marriage is highly valued and it is often ingrained in our minds. These ideals might exist to a certain extent but forcefully fitting them into these schemas was an issue. In the same line, I don't think the stressing on the importance of marriage was toxic. What I find problematic, is the way the executed it and that it took such paramount importance and was used as a cover to excuse inexcusable behaviours. Much like what you iterate in the podcasts, the framing of the plot was the issue. A lot of ugly things happened post the forced marriage but unluckily it was portrayed as being the inevitable or right thing to do. I never thought the grabbing of hand/ bruises was normal. The aggression and assault was horrendous. I can't believe that these scenes had romantic undertones. This was left unacknowledged. In fact when Anjali saw them and didn't open her mouth. Appalling behaviour and no one should have to put up with it. Arnav crosses the line and unless K has tears he doesn't step back. He shouldn't have been behaving like that in the first place. I never watched the Sheetal track so I have no memory of it. As the show progressed, K became a ditzy, inane girl with no self-respect. They reduced her to a caricature of her formal self and that is disheartening as a viewer. She has so much potential and treating her insensitively didn't quite help. They could have shown mature open conversations where her insecurities were addressed. The writers had a lackadaisical attitude by this point in time. I understand what could have driven Khushi to contemplate suicide. She had gone a through a lot and really needed help and urgent medical attention by that point. Her paranoia that triggered these thoughts were trivialised and made into a joke. I was miffed with this track. They tried to make it a comedy and that only showed the writers in poor light. I also disliked Arnav's reaction after he saves her. These tracks are open up a pandora box of what was wrong with the show. They treated the past trauma with care and sensitivity and I wonder where they left their hearts while spewing such poor content. It was disheartening. The hut scene and the other one are sore thumbs. There is only so much I can say. The characters were beyond recognition and the intricacies which we cherished so much were blotched. I wonder if it had to do with the acting brief or the writing itself. I simply skip over these scenes as they don't make sense. Her lack of willingness and hesitancy stemmed from a lot of issues. There was a complete lack of regard to her. I agree with you R. I wonder as well if a reconciliation would be possible if everything happened in the show. I don't endorse their togetherness especially after what happened. The only possibility would be as S says, intense therapy, acknowledgement of issues and other work that must have been done in the background for them to have a happily ever after. Also, I would have to delete many scenes in my mind to allow the possibility for change. However, I would imagine that in real life it is more challenging. A separation and redemption track would have helped us. I see that all the comments are quite long this time :P It is amazing to see you dissect the show and have a healthy conversation of what was problematic in such depth and with such conviction. I love how you logically put forth your arguments. I thoroughly enjoyed myself, Keep up the great work!

Actually if you watched the whole film well. Anarv after they confessed their love to each other came on a night during their second marriage preparations and appologized to Kushi for every wrong thx he ever did to her. He is arrogant with a hot temper by nature but in all the episodes were he said smthx bad or physically did smthx bad to her, he felt guilty n physically found a way to ammend his actions although that is not still enough but he appologized. Undrstd that Anarv is far from being verbally or emotionally expressive and kushi understood dat. Dox thxs by force was his way of gettx thxs even if his intention wasnot to hurt anybody and the truth is Kushi wanted it blc the kushi we knew if she wanted to get out of any situation...she wld. You guys are forgetting that even Kushi manipulated him as well into doing thxs she wanted although hers was potrayed as comedy. Infact their relationship was Cats and Dogs in a funny way. Kushi is innocent and was new with the whole concept of being inlove. I think she stayed blc deep dwn she wanted to. Plus i found it irritating that Kushi nvr bothered to find out why Anarv forced a marriage between the both of them initially n later decide to explain thxs to him. Even durx the course of their first marriage sge didnot asks. It was Anarv who tld her why he did it in one of their arguments. She allowed him do as he wanted wch is foolish on her part. Yes he is arrogant and agressive bt marryx you is certainly not one of the thxs u can imagine him outrightly wantx. Why didnt she find out why. On Anarv part i cld undrtdx him too in that he was madly inlove with kushi but she was a threat to his sisters happiness just as the other woman was a threat to his own mothers happiness wch finally lead to the destruction of their home. That was the root cause of his agressive n arrogant nature. I dnt think bex inlove with someone was enough to allow dat scenerio in his family repeat itself. So he did what he had to do. Its not right but its justified n he acted upon pre assumed evidence wch he saw. Kushi did cry abt her family disownx her as much as she cried for Anarv livx the airport. But u dnt expect it to be balanced. Undrstd that Anarv kidnapp was a matter of life n death. Yes i will cry over my family disownx me but that could be sorted out with proper conversation and dialoque but if it comes to a love one in a position of life and death i will cry more. Once yr death, that's it. As for Angeli. I totally agree with you. I dnt knw abt the other viewers but for me, she was the most annoyx and spoiled bratt of the film. And i also support you in that Anarv didnot validate her name wuth respect to her first marriage n who forced who n why. Infact i think even Anarv's family were more dissapinted in Kushi than they were at their own son. Which is wrong. You guys forgot to mention pyal first marriage and why everyone blaimed Kushi that it didnt work. I mean Pyal knew she was getting married n could also work to end her dowry. I found it shamefull that it was the little sister who need to earn money for the dowry.
Moral: this serial showed that smartness and strong attitude, the ability to say no, knowing our priority no matter how much you're in love with, how much you value "his" family, he used her because she is childish and she gave him the chance..... No one can even touch our life until unless we give the chance. It's not like arnav doesn't value a women, it's not like that. It's about the "inner aukat". Arnav had that fear and respect towards anjali because anjali knew when to defend herself even though she gives her jaan to her bro. He instantly regrets and says sorry and also begs when it comes to her sis because she's expressing her anger. He needs to know what his loved one's will feel if he done something but in khushi's case, she is confused herself. For instance, in that su.....Raat scene, she could've say, why are u even spend with me if u didn't consider it as a marriage, instead she wants to get married. Khushi's character is potraited very down, pativrata type who can bear everything for a marriage......
Hey guys!! Awesome episode yaa! Honestly, the last episode ( how not to give a job) felt more like ranting than analysis, to me. But you guys are back in the game with this one - loved all your analyses here. I don’t need to agree with everything but the conviction and rationale you guys display must be appreciated A LOT!!! ❤️
Thank you so so so much! Yeah the last episode - we had a lot of grudges stored in for years coming out at once! And thank you so much for all the appreciation - that genuinely matters a lot
honestly the sheetal track is very confusing like he was not the type of a guy to have many friends and then be a stud in the university, its a bit hard to belief at the same time if they would have come up with her education continuation and exploring the world like going to a university would be soo good then any of the last 2 tracks.
shows like these are dangerous to the society.. They portray women as weak and normalise toxicity and misbehaviour against them.. That's why Indian dramas are just joke 😂
Very well said R. It’s alway Arnav. Not Khooshi. Because of the actions were taken by other people. As if she was the punching bag. I agree with you S. This is the typical thing which I also can’t take. When Sam and Arnav were talking as if she is my wife , she was my lover. But no one even bothered to think what she thinks. Why these kind of things come in any series where guys only thing it’s their right . As if the woman has nothing in the whole drama. Yes I agree with you S #2 . How can you treat your wife . Who gives you the right to do that? He was very aggressive at least that’s what the writer shaped his character, I wonder why these kind of character should be treated as a hero just because you are a guy and top of that a rich guy? When we will wake up and realize that it’s is toxic. This isn’t normal. Anyways, you both are doing an outstanding job. Love you both 🤗🥰

I found it shamefull that it was the little sister who need to earn money for the dowry.
i actually as a kid got scared due to the bruises and did stop watching this show. i watch it as a guilty pleasure now but arnav is not a man
Moral: this serial showed that smartness and strong attitude, the ability to say no, knowing our priority no matter how much you're in love with, how much you value "his" family,
he used her because she is childish and she gave him the chance.....
@@IssPodcastKoKyaNaamDoon Always a regular listener!! ❤️
No offence but there were times when Arnav manipulated, harrassed and forced Khushi....
That's was a kind of more "toxic" than "love".
Can u guys make a video on arnav and khushi in gupta house and the last confrontation track
honestly the sheetal track is very confusing like he was not the type of a guy to have many friends and then be a stud in the university, its a bit hard to belief at the same time if they would have come up with her education continuation and exploring the world like going to a university would be soo good then any of the last 2 tracks.
shows like these are dangerous to the society..
Love you both 🤗🥰
Yes, unfortunately Khushi was reduced to a punching bag for most scenarios :( Thanks for the love
