    Your saw is incredibly clean. Have always you heard you invert the bar each time changing out the chair to even out the wear.

    The knob that needs to turn to get the cover off is jammed, I can't turn it at all? Any ideas please as to why it would do that before I try brute force?

    The video mentions being careful removing the chain so that the bar doesn't come off. I have the opposite problem. I want to take the bar off so that I can invert it. What is holding it on? I can't see anything but the bar doesn't just lift off.

    I hate these easy tension models. I accidentally pulled the tensioner wheel off when swapping a blunt chain, a little screw flew out which luckily I found but I couldn't figure out how it needed to be put back together. Im no mechanic, Had to take it to the dealer..... Never had an issue with the manual tension ones.

      That f’n screw is The reason I’m watching this video now. That screw is the worst idea they ever had. I never had that problem with the old way and 2 nuts.

      Answering this for others in the future. I used a small bar to create leverage to release. Did not take much. Needs a little extra strength to open after use.

    does it mater which way the teeth are facing?

    • @chrisdungeon
      @chrisdungeon  5 років тому +1

      Yes, make sure that the cutting part of your chain is facing the correct direction. Unfortunately the chain will go on either way, but if you put it on backwards, it will not cut

      I got it for about $30 on amazon - There's a link in description to this video for the exact chain.

    My new chainsaw and my first chainsaw. Started it for the first time yesterday and the bar was smoking and very hot. Is that normal?

      Is there chain oil in the reservoir?

    • @catbirdfeeder
      @catbirdfeeder 7 років тому +1

      mypcblewup Yes, and I added more when I started to cut trees and fuel. They did a test start at the shop. I used it all day and whatever was wrong fixed itself. No smoke, and it's using oil. I used your video to make sure of the tension. But that was after a whole day of cutting. Thanks for the great video.! I LOVE MY NEW SAW! Now I gotta find out how to sharpen! I penched it twice. A deadlimb hit me in the head and arm., and I got stuck in a tree, and I'm exhausted . Can't wait till I can do it again!

      @guyralstin good advice but for any novices dont get it too loose or the chain could come off and that's dangerous.

      mrlafayette1964 my grandfather nearly lost his arm for that reason, make sure that it isn’t too loose.
