Both Lashana Lynch and Eddie Redmayne are Amazing in this series! Richard Dormer's character is quite good, too. Can't wait for the remaining episodes!

Which shows a more human side perhaps? I mean why not? The Jackals character is a very broken man.
Who else sits idly by as possibly one of the greatest British army snipers of all time and lets his unit get torn apart like it did?
Traumatic events shape and direct a person to great ill. Without the proper healing, you are pretty much permanently broken.
We see that story told time and again.
In this version of the Jackal, i am seriously rooting for the psychopathic savant. He is hopelessly focused on his goal, and sails straight past a perfect life, far beyond driven, to an impossible goal.
Fantastic. I cant wait to see it all come crashing down in a totally chaotic finale, cat and mouse, tit for tat, right until the gritty end.
Sure hope the dialogue is up to the task. It has been for 5 episodes, how can the students of the Bard stuff this one up?
Proof of the pudding... As they say.

@@mabselves I'm afraid they will make it a anti war message, I don't want politics to ruin my favourite character. As he says in the 1973 movie "Goodbye Mr Duggan!"

Same here watched all episodes last night. When earlier I saw the trailer first I thought its a movie. But it's a season. And they ended it like a waste. Middle of nowhere

Lashana Lynch really shines in this too. Really nails down that hard/soft, good cop-bad cop. Like proper english bobby. I don't really know where the direction for the character she plays comes from, but that British spy feels, maybe not Connery (007), more like Caine (ipcress). Haven't watched the nov 14th ep yet...

Lashana lynch is the most ANNOYING in this series, non profesional, bald, and egoistic. I wonder if thry made it on purpose for us to simp more for jackal

Her character also make absolutely no sense. This woman is suppose to have a mole inside the Irish militia? Yeah, no.. Not a chance, what so ever. She is miscast through the roof.

Agreed. Really annoying especially when she got the innocent daughter killed and act like nothing happened. Don’t know if it’s planned in the script or it’s just her bad acting

    He’s not the right casting

    • @mabselves
      @mabselves 18 днів тому

Disagree. Very a lot. Probably wrong casting, but the Jackal is a psychopath in the book, and The 1973 classic directed by Fred Zimmerman, and even by the American re-boot in 1997 with Bruce Willis and Richard Gere. You need: cold, Glass like and amorphous. If seeing Eddie in this role makes you think he is out of place, i suggest you take another look.
This series expands in a modern way the way that Forsyth has painted the set in the original tome.
This reproduction of the classic works covers all the main points of the story of procedural thriller shot on set with a ridiculous budget and so many extra levels of nuance.
I can get it if you fail to see that, since we have so much choice. I fear that opinions and misguided advice can ruin a good thing like this.
I dont direct movies, i work my job and i hope that a movie director never tells me how to do my boring and monotonous job, because it would ruin it.
Therefore i say let the creative masters do their own thing and pilot their own ship, and let their art stand on it's own for what it is.
Otherwise, you end up with Star Wars Episodes 7,8,9, aka the "Skywalker Saga" and that should never happen again.

@@mabselves you don’t have one clue as to how government agents work do you do you think a black woman would be the ideal candidate to go undercover in Northern Ireland in a strong Presbyterian loyalist area? she was cast for one reason and one reason only she’s black. People like you are so blind to the powers that be who are trying to mould us all into this culture that doesn’t exist. The characters in this production are fictitious but they can still be believable neither these people are good in this production, and neither of them are very believable

    • @mabselves

@@christianblake3997hi, sorry mate. You misunderstand what i am talking about. Why does it need to be realistic? It's T.V.
I am only commenting on how the production is, and what the actors appear to me.
I also agree with you. I have no interest in what the current craft is in espionage, intelligence or surveillance. I am only interested in the art here. Like i said, it's a TV show. Fluff, fantasy, daft.
The television dramas available to watch on any platform seem realistic to an outsider of the law enforcement world, and that's what draws people in.
Did "the saint" seem very realistic when it was released?
Is James Bond realistic? I would go so far to say that James Bond is actually Sci-fi spy action, and i would never think that it had any accuracy when it comes to international affairs, espionage or assassinations.
But, if you have criticism about how this series is made and it offends you, that's rough. Sorry to hear about it.
If you have your own experience with intelligence services that you would like to share with the entire world, far be it from me to stop you from sharing them.
