It appears that the mother is doing the set up but he doesn't agree. The man is a grown-up he doesn't need mommies interference in his life. If she loves her son, respects her son, doesn't want her son to be unhappy, then she needs to step back and step out. Because if he is forced into a marriage to THAT IMMATURE SPOILED YOUNG GIRL he will definitely end up divorced.
Although this is a drama I pray the writers don't go down the rabbit hole of the mean mother storyline. I will unsubscribe very quickly as I can not stand watch it as it is just a garbage over played storyline.
Now if there is any truth to the mother being manipulative as a mother myself of 4 adult sons and 1 adult daughter, my advice is to say to her " butt out of personal relationships that is not hers". Jack is her son and he is a grown man that can make his own decisions for his own PRIVATE PERSONAL life.
Although after watching this episode I do think he needs to be VERY BLUNT with that teenager and his mother and leave no questions at all about HIS DECISIONS FOR HIS OWN LIFE. He needs to put his foot down and be Very stern about it otherwise it's just going to be a very unhappy situation.

This young man Jack should’ve told his mother the truth that he only had feelings for the woman he was seeing & her baby girl. He would save a lot of hurt & painful feelings by being truthful. I can’t imagine how Ly Tieu Tay’s heart felt hearing Jack tell his mother that he had no feelings for her. She already feels bad enough with low self esteem being poor. It’s not her fault her husband died. On the other hand it must’ve made the other young lady’s heart feel wonderful to see & hear Jack had no feelings for Ly Tieu Tay. But, again actions speak louder than words. His mother knew exactly where to find him.
