More than a few great players do or did in the past. Duncan Johnstone, Willie here, and more recently John Angus Smith were/are all superb players. For what it's worth, I play with the bag under the right arm and right hand on top as well.
I have been told by John Angus Smith who's family tradition goes back to the Island of South Uist, (Willie Morrison is from South Uist, Duncan Johnstone was from Barra (near South Uist), Angus J. MacLellan was from South Uist, Rona Lightfoot from South Uist aswell and they all played the Pipes on the right shoulder) that it is a tradition that all Pipers there are paying on the right shoulder.
If you'd no it music and history then all wld no going back century 😂 ago every Piper pldyd on there right shoulder passed father to son/daughter The BRITISH ARMY Changed to left shoulder to keep right free for combat IE ---- CLAYMORE , THIS MAN WON EVERY TITLE CHAMPION PIPER CANT GET BETTER 💚🤍 1,, TO

Most times, if a person is left handed they will play with the bag under the right arm.

There are always 'thumbs down' Piobaireachd experts lol.
Obviously playing “left handed” makes no difference?
Absolutely correct. And any numpty who claims otherwise doesn't know their history, nor their instrument.😑
