The views from the north west tower are spectacular. It’s not hard to imagine what it must have looked like back in the day. So grateful it’s not covered in concrete! ❤️
Well - it is still a very pretty day : ) rain or shine : ) ...... 16 per sandwich and soup or 16 for 2 sandwiches and 2 soups ??? : / ....... Very Cool - Thank you for educating US all - very interesting background surrounding the players of this place ??? : ) ....... Thank you very much for taking US all along and showing US this historic location : ) ....... Peace on Earth : ) ......
It really is the Old "Fleece" Inn. I would like to go back in time to see the castles in their heyday and tell the people what life is like today, about motorhomes, traffic jams, mobile phones and technology. I'm sure for some things they would think they are better off.
How cool was that farm shop apart from not letting dogs in :( would have liked to see the £16 sandwiches. That castle would have been huge thankyou for sharing, interesting how Sir William died so would have left the castle to her presumably but she remarried and left it along with her family maybe because she could not afford to stay but the Grandson did. Are you going to Chatsworth house? used to have school trips there :)

I admire and compliment the British people in the way they protect these old ruins of castles.

Thanks for your comments. We can't take dogs into Chatsworth and there's no-one to mind them, so don't think we'll be going inside.
