- How to Use the Grid Method in Your Classroom: Mastery Learning
In this video, I share how I have used the grid method as a way to promote mastery learning in my Spanish class. The grid method is a great way to differentiate your class and allow students to work at their own pace, choosing activities that work for them. I have found it to be a great addition to my classroom and I am hoping that this video gives you all the details you would like to know about how to use the grid method in your classroom! Let me know any questions you have in the comments!

Do you have any other examples to share for different subjects? Thank you! Great video!
WOW. Love it!
One of the few videos that actually gives an example. Do you know by chance other resources to implement quizzes, test, etc for a mastery program?
Thanks! I think you could use any type of program that you'd like for assessments. I love using Socrative, some people use Google Forms, etc.
Great video & thorough explanation - thank you!
Thank you for the kind words, Sally!
Love this!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much, Patricia!
Great presentation. Do you mind sharing an example( or template) with a fellow Spanish Teacher?
Awesome! I have a question that’s a bit unrelated. I now work in a preschool and the amount of waste, clutter, and useless “crafts” present is disturbing to me. I’d love to make a difference (I’m a teachers aide) in this area but have found little to no resources. Do you happen to have any preschool minimalism advice or suggestions for resources? Thanks!
This is a great question! Unfortunately, I don't think I have much advice for that age group. Maybe an emphasis on experiences rather than stuff or a one in, one out policy, but I feel like preschool must be a completely different thing than what I teach. I'm sorry I don't have a better answer!
Are you using The Grid Method from the Teach Better team?
Great question! I believe it is based off of that, however, it was presented at our district's professional development day at the start of the year, so I was using their materials to help me with it!
I love it! Can u send me a sample grid
Thanks, Michele! Unfortunately, I do not have access to these anymore, as I no longer work at this school.
