You’re a tenacious and talented person! Thanks for sharing your videos, they’re a great resource for the many DIY mobility device users…(that’s about as PC as I can conjure). I used to do most of the work on my ‘67 MG prior to the ski accident in which I broke my neck. My days of spinning wrenches are long gone and I gave the MG to my sister-have I damned myself by doing that? Regardless, this is the first video of yours that I’ve seen, but it certainly won’t be the last! I hope those steroids are helping you, I’m sure that your viewers are sending you their best wishes. Great stuff!!👍🏼👍🏼
I am a disabled Vet, and received a V6 from the VA the last time I got a new chair, about 4-1/2 years ago. it has really been a game changer for me. I am able to run around hiking trails and somewhat off trail with my son. I live in Humboldt county Ca. so we have redwoods forests to explore. my previous chars were fully "city chairs" ( Permobile M400, Jazzy 614, shoprider 6runner) the VA does not cover a lot of extras, so it does not lift, or have power leg adjustment, but I don't need those really. lift would help with grocery shopping, but it's not a big deal. someday, i would love to get a real off road beast, but until then, this is the best chair I have owned. it would be very nice if this chair were a bit faster, but 6.5mph is not too slow.
@@TotallyNormal-thanks for sharing your story and that of the V6. I’m sending positive vibes your way-yours is not an easy "road to be on"…I admire and appreciate the work you’ve put into your collection of chairs. It’s like a gallery of every chair I’ve owned in my 31 years a (C5/6 quad)-spinal cord injury-I have tremendous respect for folks who have degenerative diseases that leave you wondering what abilities you’ll have when you wake up. Hopefully those steroids will help you, and as a side effect you’ll develop an Arnold Schwarzenegger physique. Thanks for sharing your videos, all the best to you.

Hey in the future know that the seat on the Magic Mobility Frontier V6 At is on a hinge at the rear of the seat. Undue two bolts on the front of the seat frame and the whole seat will hinge at the back leaving top access to the batteries, easy squeezy You're doing this the hard way. And yes Magic Mobility in AU are AWESOME! Mine makes the same gear noise, and I do think it's just gear noise and not to worry. I've had mine for almost five years and it's still going strong. !
yea i tried that before, but then the seat was in the way for sliding the batteries out the back hah.. this is a version one.. is yours the same? or you got a version 2? (built in transport brackets are an indicator)
@@TotallyNormal- Understood. I can't do that anymore. I've watched the tech's sent by the VA to swap mine out. The first time the dude flipped the seat back and swapped them out in less than 10 minutes. The next crew did it from the rear and it was hilarious watching them struggle. I told them there was an easier way but they refused to listen to the disabled dude... After they were done I showed them pictures from the last time and they apologized, profusely. Hi Dan, just wanted your thoughts and opinion, I’m going to be getting another rig in the near future and it will either be a Frontier V6 or a Quickie Q500M chair. I really have my eyes on the Frontier V6 rig but was curious on how it would maneuver around indoors with the “all-terrain” tires on? I know there’s an option to get a “hybrid” version on the V6 and purchase the all-terrain tires separately, but I have Muscular Dystrophy and I’m not physically able to swap those out myself. My doorways inside are 34” minus 2 inches probably from the door/hinge. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Love your videos.

Hey Dan, I'm in need of new ATV tires for my V6. I've bought them in the past from a local motorcycle shop but I got curious and started looking online. The dude's in the motorcycle shop always give me the stink eye, not sure why but I sure don't like it. In looking at the choices at the mighty Amazon all theirs are only rated for 165 pounds. sand is the arch nemesis of power chairs! it takes something specifically built for it! even the frontier V6 in this video has its limitations on different types of sand. ya need ground clearance, big tires, and power! then sometimes ya STILL get stuck! the jazzy 1103 isnt easily modifiable to tackle that type of terrain. maybe with a more powerful control system, and larger tires.. but even then, the back castors are going to work like anchors in sand :^/
