I remember seeing you both in Vienna, Austria live on stage. The first thing Richard did after the hours long show was grab a cigarette. Such devotion, creativity, love for music and energy poured into many masterpieces. As an American who lived in Germany for 17 years I am fluent in the German language and love (most) of their music. I listen to Rammstein frequently at work and sing along to their songs while my coworkers scratch their heads and wonder what I am saying. Their music makes me miss Germany sometimes.
Turning this into a song about two lifelong friends is pretty incredible, especially with Till belting out those powerful lyrics. Richard's part seems so heartfelt and loving. Such a heartwarming and beautiful rendition of a classic!

Till had to make the decision if he wants to give up the band and move on, or ignore personal feelings and invest into the band. We all know his decision. I did read that in an German interview 20yrs ago and since the story was 'watered' down - in the interview he said that he was quite depressed during the time of making 'Sehnsucht' and some of the lyrics incl. the album name reflect it.

As someone with no true friends other than acquaintances, this makes me shed a tear. It's absolutely beautiful. Two friends that completely understand each other and love each other for it makes it that much more special. At one time I felt this way with someone I considered a brother, but they didn't feel the same way. They stabbed me in the back. I can no longer trust you as far as I can throw you. Sometimes some wounds never heal.
