Awesome thank you !
i would love to do this in my garden - remember they used to say - birds, bees, bugs, hedgehogs, bats, owls, butterflies, sealife, foxes and badgers, and wildflowers and hedgerows, and recycle and electric green energy! and your mental and physical health. and meat free monday! and big old trees. or trees for drainage or we'd have floods. and they used to say the rastafarian smokes homegrown hemp tea. well i have cbd tea from holland and barrett, works the same kinda haha.
Wow; absollutely stunning pot of gorgeous, pollinator-friendly plants!
Thank you Daniela - glad this was of help and hope it's given you some ideas :) Appreciate your positive comments! Best wishes, Joel

Thank you Gaz :) That's a great idea, I have these in front of my barrel at the moment, the oxeyes are brimming, along with the nepeta - I should be doing a garden update over the weekend and hope to post it by Sunday evening. Best wishes, and thank you for your support, it's appreciated - Joel

Love your beautiful vlogs, always a pleasure to sit and watch and gather fantastic ideas.
I adore the pollinators and often wander around the plants in the garden and just watch them doing there thing. Such things are priceless and way more meaningful than living in a materialistic world x
Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so very much - this has been lovely to read after a pretty hard day, I really do appreciate your encouragement and support and I hope you are enjoying the rest of the channel - I have around 85 videos to upload now, it's just finding the time during this most busy period at work - there will be lots to entertain over the autumn and winter though, for sure :) Best wishes to you and yours - Joel
How wonderful. Many thanks :)))
You're very welcome :) Lots more of these videos to come, I have filmed and planted up a few more containers with different ideas, videos will be on here shortly :) Best wishes, Joel
Love all your videos joel loads of good tips 👌
Thanks Kenny - really appreciate your kind words and support :) So glad you're enjoying the channel, there's certainly a lot of videos on here now, lots more to come as well - best wishes, Joel
Great - must do one of these. Can vouch for birds foot trefoil - grew some out a pot and it really does spread out nicely. It has yellow flowers which were there for the whole summer and always had a bee on them.
Illustrious Badger great to hear 👍 Yes, BFT is such a great “all rounder”.
Very interesting ....love the colours too XXX
Thank you, I really appreciate it :)
Great ideas thank you.
You’re welcome. Anytime Tracey 👍
Being inspired by the content on your channel. Over the last year I’ve been transforming our garden to make it easier to maintain as we get older and make space for growing some veggies in planters. Inevitably I’ve removed quite a bit of stuff and now I’m trying to give back to wildlife and making up pots like this looks like a great idea. I never would’ve packed so much into one pot before. So far I’ve seen no mention of lavender which we have plenty of and it attracts so many bumble bees for weeks when in flower so just wondering what your thoughts are on lavender?
We have a small wildlife pond which I’m looking to make the best of, I’ve left about 40sqm of grass to go wild, I’m about to make a big bug hotel from some old pallets and I have ideas for several other little projects.
I’d rather be on the garden all day than pushing numbers around spreadsheets!
Just rewatching a load of your uploads. Mojo coming back..... hopefully
Done this pot or similar Joel and looks stunning but would appreciate a little bit at the end which tells us how to keep over winter. Love all your vids!
Hi Simon - if you live in the UK you won't have to do much at all thankfully, the plants will all be used to our weather. I am about to upload a video of the garden this June that shows the pot one year on, with little maintenance as I've not been home much, but it's certainly all survived and has been in full flower as of a week ago :) Thanks so much for your support, it's appreciated and makes a big difference - best wishes, Joel
@@WildYourGardenWithJoelAshton Manchester. Brill thanks!
Our garden is surrounded by a very solid 6' high fence but each year we somehow get frogs or toads. How do they get in and what brings them as we have no pond or water feature? We are new subscribers and are going to do these pots for the bees as we grow veg fruit and flowers. Thank you from Northern Ireland.
Hello Vera. It’s amazing how they get into a garden sometimes. Both can squeeze through some pretty tight gaps! They will probably be searching for food in your borders (slugs, worms etc). Thank you for subscribing. Here if you need any advice 😊👍
Same here!
I have tried several times to get on with peat free compost but have to say it is not for my liking. It does not hold moisture even with I put a saucer under as the water runs straight out the drain holes. I am having to use more and more water, which itself is a scarce commodity.
Can you buy these plants in garden centers? Is it better to grow from seed or buy the live plant? Thanks
Hi Rishabh - let me know where you are and I'll try to give you the right help - it's always nice to grow from seed of course but needless to say it takes longer :) Happy to help with any questions you may have - best wishes, Joel
@@WildYourGardenWithJoelAshton Hi Joel, thank you so much for your quick and helpful reply! I'm in London, south-central to be precise. I have a number of pots on a terrace that I'm thinking of planting up with wildlife-friendly plants. Thanks :)
@@rishabhwatts1676 That's great - if ok, send me an email to wildyourgarden@gmail.com, then I can advise on whether plug or 9cm pots and best place to buy from :) Thanks so much for thinking of doing this, you will reap the rewards :) Best wishes, Joel
😊@@rishabhwatts1676
Great video sir. Thank you. All we need now is a bit more sun and we are sorted! Haha
Blessings and peace
Hi George - I think your wish came true, absolutely glorious day again today, everything in the meadow and garden is responding so well to it - I hope you're enjoying it too and having a good weekend - best wishes, Joel
@@WildYourGardenWithJoelAshton Yes Joel. The only downside is that it is Bank Holiday Monday so I imagine that that there will be more people around in Swaledale than bees round a honey pot! Oh well, having just planted some herbs at least they (the bees) will have something to do if/when they (the herbs) flower!
@@georgealderson4424 Ah, the wonderful Yorkshire Dales - I hope the weather has been good for you, it's been a great weekend so far. Herbs are great, so many bees attracted to mint if it's allowed to flower - hope you weren't swarmed with people though ;) Best wishes - Joel
@@WildYourGardenWithJoelAshton Haha I have stayed away from people buzzing about and designing a bee patch (at least in my head!)
@@georgealderson4424 Excellent! If you needed any more help in choosing, I am not sure if you are aware of our website: www.wildyourgarden.com - there are a lot of pollinator friendly plants and everything on sale is to help wildlife, from gardening to ponds and habitats :) Best wishes George - Joel
When would you plant these?
If they are grown outside, or frost hardy, you can plant any time but avoid harsh frosts. Best time now would be March/April. We will have plenty more stock on the wild your garden online shop by then 😊👍
Where do I get the seeds
Mint spreads terribly. Be careful where you plant it and if in a container don’t just throw any pruned leaves or stems anywhere. It can be extremely invasive.
