Epic Games has the right to promote collaborations in their Fortnite events, no matter how subjectively bad they might be. A portion of the community likes events that are heavily based on lore, but that doesn't mean the lore was missing from this event. We got to experience a glimpse of the full universe. Each galaxy has its own theme, much like Super Mario Galaxy. Essentially, there are infinite possibilities, with infinite choices to be made and infinite ideas to pursue.
Just like the OG map, these two events' feelings are intended to be different and will feel different no matter what. This "big bang" created a wormhole that allowed us to return to the present and continue to the main storyline. As the event name suggests, Fortnite is entering a new beginning, and each clean slate is how the game stays alive.

Explain the lore please? I’ve finished every event in Fortnite until now with a general understanding of what was happening lore-wise, but this event left me confused

Chapter 4 (which was a complete mess lore wise because of the transition between Donald Mustard and his successor), Optimus said that reality Zero is doom because the ZP is completely froze and slowly dying. In that sense, Slone and Jones decide to put their differences aside, and team up to assemble a heist crew in order to steal the time machine from Thorn. Once they did so, Slone sent Jones back in time on "an exctraction [mission]". What was he meant to extract ? What happened ? That's where interpretation diverge. So here's mine :
We know for a fact that Jones messed up with the time machine by creating time paradoxes (Thus why Kevin Island reappeared at loot lake without following the same path as before, why the Snow biome partialy reappeared, why the Volcano did not show up, etc). Now as for how I see things : listening to the new recordings of Slone (which we could find in game), Jones realised that what he did was affecting the present heavily, meaning that he did not have much time left before also being affected by the time paradoxes (because if no chap 4, no time travel). So he did what was best, recreated the end as fast as possible, in order to reset everything once more before being affected by the time paradox (which would've made things even worse). That was the event, the big bang. Now, lore wise, this should mean that basically anything after chap 1 is now not canon, concidering the big bang (a revised End event) led to chap5. HOWEVER, since Chap 1 did not went the same as it was supposed to go during season OG, basically everything that happened there is also not canon anymore. (The Ice King-Prisoners shenanigans, The Final Showdown event, meaning no monster and no robot, therefore, no Singularity "betrail", etc)
To conclude, this is basically a soft reboot of the storyline. The only things we know so far are :
-The characters we know supposedly still exists, just with no memories of the events post chap 1 ;
-I.O should currently still be in control of the island, since chap 3 never happened ;
-Geno should still be alive and well ;

@@cutecharacterpower not a bad take; thanks for your perspective. Kinda sad how we got unfinished plot points though. The seven just disappeared, we never got on-scene lore following Foundation/Jones pursuing Geno (I know about the comics), etc.
@@mattdrolet17 yeah, Donald's Storyline is far from perfect... but I still enjoyed it a lot ! Now I'm curious to see the new creative director's take on the storyline (can't recall his name). Tbh as long as the foundation is still played by The Rock, I'm all good
I missed the original “the end” event, so I was happy to be able to make it up here, even if it was cut down significantly.
Although I honestly could’ve just closed out of Fortnite after the black hole finished its thing, as I had 0 care in the world for the entire 3/4 rest of the event
My theory for what happened during this event is that Jones had collected whatever he needed and used the zero point to send the Island back to the present(I believe he did this to stop Kevin from following everyone). I also believe that maybe(possibly) the realities that form after the explosion are realities that were never destroyed by the Last Reality in the altered timeline.
It feels like versus 2019 versus 2023

They basically used the same event but changed it and removed the other poi rifts coming out and flying around
They just skip to the meteor bullying and making it hit the zero point

I have mixed feelings about this event
The first part is good basically a remixed version of the end event except with Agent Jones doing the work
But the other half, eeeh ok but I wish it wasn’t a straight up ad, like i’m interested in it
But atleast better than that abomination event we had

Last year, all of you were complaining about Fracture and how bad it was due to all the cinematic trailers and collecting fragments. This year, you are doing the exact same thing. The Big Bang had the purpose to reset the storyline and the Zero Point. We have been introduced to Lego, Musical Festivals and a Racing Mode, but, once again, people don’t like the idea of Epic adding collaborations into the live events. Be grateful for not collecting zero fragments and watching cinematic trailers like last year.

@@JeehhhOkay but Fracture was long as FUCK, no amount of "at least it had plot" can fix the staleness of getting zero fragments. This event was fire compared to that, the bar to pass Fracture is on the ground.

@@vendeta_zenit2956 the Big Bang was nothing but colabs. There was no story. Where was Sloan or jones? Why were they even doing what they were doing? What was the point of the event? What was even happening and why was it happening? What was the memorable? Reveal towards the end? What happened to the zero point? And where dose the chapter 5 map come from?
They had one year yet they cooked absolutely nothing.

Not to mention they didn’t even show the chapter 5 map or how we got there so that’s another reason why this live event is one of the worst.

In terms of what we got to see and do yea I’d agree but it was a little lacklustre with actually pushing forward the story or giving a bit of reason to why we need to do that again

Chapter 2 finale was better than this, the event was like a teaser for every new gamemode lego,racing,festival there was no memorable reveal
Absolute bullcrap event. If i wanted to see any of that rubbish i would go to an Epic Games investor showcase! No lore, no storyline, no content. Just a giant ad to show off how rich they are essentially
Lore and story are the same thing and the whole event was that the galaxies and the black hole all story
