Very beautiful. I have been playing tin whistle now and have my first low d whistle on the way in the mail. I'm very excited to embark on this journey and I thank you very much for sharing this, I can see what is possible because of you. Backing track is amazing as well. Overall A+++, I subscribed. Thank you again!
Aw thank you so much! What a lovely comment to read, thank you :) Enjoy the whistle! Covering the holes takes a fair bit of getting used to but it’s worth it, for basically just a holey tube there’s an awful lot of expressing you can achieve with it!! Enjoy! 🎉
@@scottashbymusic Thank you! It arrived and I've been playing it a few days now. It is not as difficult as I thought it might be coming from the high D whistle, but will definitely take some getting used to. Dixon Aluminum Low D, I'm really digging the tone. Thank you again! Your channel is awesome!
@@scottashbymusic Hi thanks! It’s going well, thanks! I’ve been playing it a lot and it feels more natural by now. At first the fingering was an adjustment but it feels good now. I also picked up a low G whistle by Dixon also and I love that as well, it’s like in between the low and high D whistles. Still practicing, I am enjoying it a bunch!
@@TheJofrica aww that’s fantastic to hear! Yes the Low G whistles are a lot of fun, I find I can play them a lot faster than the Low D. Low D for me is the ballad, Low G are the fast Irish jigs/ reels, etc. Have fun!!!
Aw thank you! If it’s the technique you can hear at 2:56, it’s called ‘flutter tongue’. You can achieve this by “rolling your r’s”. It’s an easy technique once you know how. If it’s general shaking you mean, it’s either my natural vibrato (please watch a video on vibrato), or, it’s my fourth finger quickly tapping the bottom hole over and over again. I hope this helps and thanks for your comment! ❤️
Love it, well done. I think I might have a go at that one.
Very Beautiful! So much SOUL in the melody! 💝
Thank you :) Yes, this song has such a beautiful melody, so much fun to play!
Oh, that is a very touching rendition of this tune. The best I've heard. Deserves more recognition. Thanks.
Aw, thank you so much, that’s made my day!!! : )

Which key is the whistle in?
It’s a Low D whistle. So it’s an octave lower than the standard Irish Whistle. Hope that helps :)
Beautiful! Is this Low D or F?
Thanks! It’s Low D
A low C? Very nice sound...MK may be
Thanks, it’s an MK Pro Low D :)
My song for today, love your personal take, how to you do the purr like sound (best way I can describe it) is it tonguing? Thank you!
