5:53 that’s a very accurate advice, I’ve had one of the worst art blocks ever but today I finally grabbed my sketchbook and did smtg, I realised I’be been forcing myself to b mainly productive with digital art (since it’s what i do in my channel) that I forgot how therapeutic traditional art is. ^^
*Hay hun, When the clay is sticky u can use a little bit of corn starch or baby powder. And u can put a bit of WD-40 or oil in the tool where it squeaks to stop the noise.*
Sculpey Souffle Is harder to work with bc it doesn't hold its shape. Premo is by far the best. Roll out manually or with a pasta roller, cut your shape then....LEAVE IT SIT. frustrating but letting the clay sit for a few hours will harden it so clean up or punching holes is way easier. If you're worried about air bubbles, store your piece upside down. The bubbles will rise to the back. For sticking....use a little cornstarch. Dip your cutters in it or your finger tips. Bake for longer at a lower temperature and use aluminum foil over the top to prevent burning. Bake on ceramic tile for best results. Very, very cheap at Lowes or home depot. Use any gloss,Varathane is easy and cheap. Is what I've figured out so far. Practice makes perfect.
I never make clay earring before but when you say that when the clay starts to get sticky and too soft, butting them in the The freezer would help it to cold down , I have an ideal that you can get a plate or buy a piece of marble tile and put it in the freezer overnight or all the time , and when the clay start to get sticky and warm , take the marble pieced out or your plate and put the clay on top of the colder , hope this help 😅👍
I'm not usually somebody who wears cute stuff but I would definitely buy these if you ever put them on your shop also I think for your first time using polymer clay you did a great job ☺️
So, i never even touched polymer clay in my life, I'm just preparing myself to buy all the stuff but even though i have no experience i know one tip that can help with the clay sticking to the molds: corn starch on the molds. Also, if it the clay gets too sticky and oily people say that pressing paper onto the play helps to absorb all the oil and makes it more workable
Also, you were using the wrong type of surface that i forgot the name because english is not my native language 😂 You should use a stick surface like glass, a tile or a cooking mat, that way the clay will stick to the surface and not the cutters, specially since clay tend to stick more to plastic cutters than those metal ones. Then you just remove the clay from the surface with a flexible blade
They are super cute! I really love the colours you used and the way you paired the shapes together, they're so fun and pretty. Just a tip with your jump rings, you have the right technique the way you're using the tweezers to open/close them but when you squish them with the pliers that can warp them and make them less functional, so be careful
WOW , you did a really good job on your first try ! I love all the color choices as well . I would love to see them in your store . And also I love all your work ( how do you draw people so good , I'm so bad at them !?!? ) I recently just binged all your videos !
The earrings look realy cute and have a retro look to them, maybe make the rainbows as a brooch/pin as well. Rolling on glass does make working with polymer clay easier, and putting it in the fridge to cool and harden a little is a good idea. But also I have seen other makers dust cutters with a liitle talcum powder or corflower to stop the clay sticking to them. They would look great if you also painted any future pieces you make. I think they would sell if you ut them in your online shop.
@@imawonder You can get silicone moulds for polymer clay jewellery too,and again dust thes with cornflower or talcum powder so the clay dosen't stick to them.
I can totally see you wearing these omg, the colors are so lovely! I definitely have to try making some someday. I often find myself wanting to make my own fashion items, so this would be a nice little step into it. Thank you for sharing little tips and recommendations too! it's really good insight for those who don't know anything about it ^^
Aww hehe thank you so much! I also fantasize about fashion items I draw becoming a reality so this was the closest I could get haha! Hope you have fun with it if you end up making some yourself!!
Yay I’m so early! Btw love your aesthetic art :) wow the rainbows are so beautiful! I just wanted to say, you are such a Slytherin, and probably the nicest Slytherin I have met. Lol I’m sort of a perfectionist but the sorting hat made me a Ravenclaw, tho I do love a good charms class, I am more a perfectionist with school work xD.
Aww thank you so much!! HAHA oh my god that is amazing! When I initially got sorted into Slytherin I was confused but over the years I've come to realize I 100% fit the house :P I think there's definitely a lot of overlap with Ravenclaw and Slytherin so I think that totally makes sense!
Nice video! What do you call the little gold flat sun that you used for your rainbow earrings? I can't seem to find them and I think I'm using the wrong names for it.
This is amazing! I can’t believe this is your first time making clay earrings!! I love the idea of selling some in your shop! I would totally buy some! 😍
If you do Ploymer clay work I HIGHLY suggest you get a pasta maker/ roller. Conditioning the clay by hand is awful😂.By the time you are done conditioning the clay you won't even wanna sculpt.
Congrats 🍾 they are very cute and pretty, the pastel colors are perfect for summer and beach! They are not the kind of earrings that I usually wear but I really like all of them especially the little flowers 🌸 rainbows are too bigger for me but are really really beautiful 🤩 I made some torso at the art liceum here in Italy with clay and then with chalk so yes! It’s very difficult to find the right way to work it, so in my opinion you did a great job with these little pieces also to put all together without mess all up 👍 brava 💜
it's so cool seeing your style on different mediums! i've just started playing around w clay too (i think i have an art supplies problem this quarantine) and it's a lot more finnicky than videos show lol. love seeing you play around w them :) great colour combos as always
I have seen other people use saran wrap to discourage the clay sticking to the cutter! I am not sure if you have tried it, but roll out your clay, put saran/plastic wrap over the clay, and then cut over top of the saran/plastic wrap!
LOVED this so much!!! These looks so clean and lovely and fun. They v much reflect you artistic personality and it's always awesome to be able to watch you explore a new medium!
Gorgeous! this entire video was perfect as I'm now getting into clay earrings as well. I would love to buy several pairs of earrings from you! I hope we get more videos like this in the future! Could we see you painting some as well?
I love them!! I would wear them if i could... unfortunately need in the process to try and close my earholes cause they were being super sensitive and couldn't wear any kind of earrings :(
I have yet to find those sun findings for my jewelry. I’m like them one day! I can’t wait to start mine, just waiting on the extruder and the oven thermometer 😭
You can take cornstarch and use the cutters take the cutters and dip the cornstarch and then try to take the colors and use it with the clay I know that everyone who worked with polymer clay say that cornstarch works the best
k but the little pasteel flowers?? they look so tasty like some cereals😂🤤 and i absolutely loved this video! you did so well for your first try and im so happy for you that you found yourself a new hobby that isnt necessarily monetized!
Little late to the party..bud you can put some clear plastic foil (that stuff where you wrap sandwiches in) over the slab and then cut. This also will round out the edges.
quick tip: dip the cutter in corn flour before cutting which kinda helps the clay to not stick on the mold/cutter.
I would looooove to see u paint the earrings u did in a future painting✨🗿💕
Aww I love that idea!! Thanks so much!
Those earrings look absolutely gorgeous. You should really start a jelewry shop some day 😌
Aw thanks so much! Haha oh gosh maybe not a whole jewellery shop but I think I will list some in my shop soon!
I absolutely agree!

So glad to hear it!! Switching mediums can be a great way to kick start some motivation/inspo! :)

Video made me smile after I lost my dog yesterday. Love you Tina, they look amazing❤
Aww I'm so sorry for you loss, glad to be able to bring you a smile

Practice makes perfect.
Smooth down rough edges after baking by using a wet piece of sand paper, this avoids white scratch marks
The small ones with the three different colour pieces look like lucky charms! So cute
Omg they totally do!! haha thank you!

I really want to see her island if she has animal crossing.... like it’s gonna look amazing I know already

the flower ones i- they are so adorable and cute and pretty im in love with them!!

@@imawonder no problem 💕✨ you deserve it
so, is the jewlery thing you put in the clay before baking them save to go in the over/airfryer?
Nice video! What do you call the little gold flat sun that you used for your rainbow earrings? I can't seem to find them and I think I'm using the wrong names for it.
Cool your using other medium. I love it for you. For the clay sticking on the cutter, dip the cutters in corn starch before using it on the clay. ☺️
Thanks for the tip!!
I can definitely see these ones decorating the background of the pictures of your illustrations!
Hehe I probably will!
This is amazing! I can’t believe this is your first time making clay earrings!! I love the idea of selling some in your shop! I would totally buy some! 😍
All of these are so stunning.. I fell in love with the rainbow ones 😍
