Hey Kait! Thanks so much for all of your great advice! One question I have is, what keto foods are good to eat on an upset stomach? The BRAT diet (banana, rice, applesauce, toast) and things like crackers are good for when your stomach hurts, but clearly don’t work on keto. This is one exception I make when I generally try to eat healthy, but wasn’t sure if maybe you had some keto alternatives.
Have you tried bone broth and soups? If you make your own bone broth, you can get lots of healthy fats and protein. Also adding in some veggies will soften them and help them go down on a troubled tummy. Yogurt and almond/peanut butter is a good idea too :)
@@brieoflyng4755 all great suggestions! I was going to recommend bone broth for sure. But honestly, if you’re stomach is upset the best thing you can eat is nothing and give your digestion a break. I know that’s easier said than done.

Hi Kait! Thank you for another helpful video. You mentioned taking a tablespoon apple cider diluted in water, how about those capsule forms apple cider? Do we get the same benefit?
I love my oats in the morning! Can’t give them up! But I do mix in 25g protein powder and top with fresh berries, and either ground flax and pumpkin seeds or sesame and sunflower seeds, depending on if it’s the first 14 days or last 14 days of my menstrual cycle for fats to support hormones. I’m also active and move about after my breakfast to disperse to blood sugar into my muscles. It’s a balanced meal that keeps me full for four hours and contains plenty of fibre and all the macronutrients so I’m confident it’s fine. I imagine microwave instant oats on their own with no other ingredients are what gives this breakfast option a bad reputation in terms of blood sugar spikes as it’s simple carbs alone.

And this one will be live next week ua-cam.com/video/FzDIN_97QYg/v-deo.html
How long do you refrigerate to make a starch more resistant? Some say over night, some say just a few minutes. Are there stats on this? Also, how about a possible review of the GOLO program? It's supposed to reverse insulin resistance.
The longer you leave them to cool, the more resistant starch is created!
@@HealthCoachKait Thanks Kait!
Is it okay to eat keto/low carb if one is insulin sensitive and never had weight problems?
Yes
@@HealthCoachKait Thank You for the quick and straightforward answer :)
Hi
HEY 😃
Ohhhh, please please please please say sourdough and legumes!!!!
Well, not surprised but sad. I came off my metformin and still have an a1c of about 5, but I just ate homemade 36 hour sourdough and a big bowl of pea soup. I may restart keto, but it's dead of winter.
Toasting up frozen bread also makes it resistant
Is this for real, because I freeze my bread all thr time.
No, it doesn’t. This only works for starch (bread is not starch).
@@HealthCoachKait Serious Keto's Channel did a test of various products, bread, rice, pasta etc. He wore a continuous blood glucose monitor and tested them just being cooked and then freezing them. Posted the display on the screen after two hours of how it affected the readings. Was an interesting string of videos. Bread was one thing that had a reduced spike and quicker recovery to base line, toasting it after being frozen. Breat contains wheat flour, how does it not contain starch?
Thanks for another great video HCK! Do you mind citing the source for the blood glucose charts used throughout your video? Thanks in advance!
Most of them are CGM results from Glucose Goddess! instagram.com/glucosegoddess
@@HealthCoachKait i have the goddess book & am testing some of the hacks. most of them seem to work for me especially a big salad first, then protein & fat & small amount of carb last. i wish i could get into the habit of exercising after eating but i always forget. i’ve been IF for 7 years & A1C always between 5.0 to 5.1 so not diabetic or pre diabetic, i have family history & many polymorphisms that predispose me so being proactive. i don’t have a CGM but i finger prick to do my testing (experiments). the book has really helped me figure out what foods i can & cannot eat without spiking. i LOVE your channel, btw!!!! awesome content!!! keep posting, i’ll be “liking”.
Can we have the ACV in water on an empty stomach?
Yes also take 5 to 10 mins before a meal

@@HealthCoachKait your content is valuable, I am sometimes too impatient to wait for it.
What if you don't cook oats? Are they more insulin 'friendly' than cooked and cooled? I like to munch on some dry oats with lots of cinnamon.
They need to be cooked first
Is there a number that you think is too high for "low carb" options? And would that number be total carbs or net carbs? With so many options on the market I need some guidelines.
It really depends on your goals and metabolic health. For most people, sticking to under 50g total is going to be best.
