This guy was such a good actor on 'Lost,' when I clicked on this link I wasn't sure if he'd be able to speak English

Even though it became painfully apparent in later seasons the writers had created a bunch of mystery with no answers in mind which led to the story going downhill, you can't poke holes in the argument that the first few seasons of Lost is some of the best television ever made. And Daniel Dae Kim was INCREDIBLE as Jin. I can't imagine any other person who could do that character justice like he did.

I disagree. When I was a teenager watching Lost, I had the same impression as you: that the writers wrote themselves into a hole that was impossible to get out of. Then lately, after watching some of David Lynch's work, I rewatched Lost and now I think the show only got better season after season. Love the Jacob stuff. Love the time travel, the island that moves, all of it!

This is actually a serious misconception. Lost was not made up as it went along, at least not as a whole. The ending was planned. The issue was the creators wanted 3 seasons, but the show became so popular that they extended it, then season 4 was the writer's strike and a lot of what they wanted to do there got cut short and they had to rework their build up to ending. So much of it was pre-planned and from the beginning they chose not to hold anyone's hand! You're on the ride and either you like it or you don't, but those writers worked hard and they knew what they were doing. If you're looking for people to blame, blame the studio. I for one love Lost start to finish.

@@echernaut Oh good to know, I haven't done any real research into how Lost was made. I too absolutely love Lost, I just have a hard time rewatching Jack go "We have to go back Kate" for an entire season.

The writers wanted only 3 seasons but it's ABC who wanted 10 seasons. In the end, they came to an agreement for 6 seasons. The fact the writers had to add 3 more seasons to their writing, that's what made it complex for them. They started throwing new ideas while they were going along. They had to keep the show interesting throughout the 6 seasons but by doing so, you had to bring more mysteries. Only 3 seasons of lost would probably never have brought the Jacob vs Man in black storyline. Nor Richard the immortal. And probably not even the time travel ark with the Dharma initiative.

His was the most fascinating character on Lost but there was never a chance he would've been given more screen time and deeper involvement in the story line.

I couldn't imagine the show without Jin, easily my favourite character because of how many layers there were to his personality.

How can you like the Game Of Thrones ending?
It literally destroys every plot and every character development with the most basic and cheap writing possible. And that hurts so much because the show until that point was so wonderfully crafted, with such a smart and elegant writing and so much deconstruction of the genre and it’s tropes.
It still breaks my heart to this day how badly GoT became in the last 2 seasons. It was on track of becoming the best show ever and they ruined it so badly it almost feels like a nightmare.
It was the Star Wars of this generation, everybody was so invested on it… But the ending was so bad, nobody gave a fuck about the show anymore inmediately after it ended.
