- An automated Rapid Transit (ART) trackless tram, currently open to the public for a three-month trial run in Putrajaya, has attracted many commuters eager to take a ride.
If the trial proves successful, the service is expected to launch by the end of the year.

If they want this to be successful, they must make a dedicated and barricaded lanes (not painted lanes) for this ART so there will be no cars and motorcycles in front and back of ART.
100% agree
Yes, needs a dedicated lane
But it will reduce the purpose of this trackless bus that it can share lanes with cars, though
@@ditabahari5295if not, the trams will be unreliable…& ppl will just use their cars..
@@ditabahari5295 trackless means there is no steel rails
Please... Its not trackless tram.. Its just an Autonomous bi-articulated bus..
Whatever
They should just get articulated bus with a normal driver on board....
It's a space tram. More space than a bus.
@@lesliegrace8360no it's just a bus
Trackless tram is more catchy. You'll fail at marketing.
It is not a bus? Just a very long bus?
Yes its just a bust that looks lika a tram.
Isnt this just an elongated bus? It will still get stuck in the traffic.
Yeah this is just basically a bus that looks like a tram.
Tram should have it own special lane, like those in europe
This seems like a good step in the right direction
Insya'Allah
it’s basically just a bus…
Yes, it is indeed a bus
Bus is faster
Just a very long bus which might face difficulty turning into a road with indiscriminately parked cars on the corner
no , bus is faster ,cheaper, more seat
lloooooongg lloooonnnggg bus
That’s cute , now put more commercial activity in putrajaya so it gives people a reason to be there

What I'm seeing is best described as a "bus trying to look like a tram". Basically an over-engineered bus.
I'm cautious about this ART but if any chance Perbadanan Putrajaya (the governing body of Putrajaya) can convert the ART roads into actual tram tracks.
I've seen comments about how putting the ART on the roads will increase traffic but the opposite will happen otherwise. Unless of course the ART (or tram if demand arises) meets demand, people would stop driving their cars and traffic can decrease.
It works like this: when you build more roads, it may decrease traffic at first, but overtime more cars will come in and the road is jammed again. Now put a dedicated lane there. It angers drivers at first but overtime people will take the bus/trolleybus/tram and therefore traffic will come down. It would also mean the roads will have lesser chances of being damaged by potholes (because cars cause greater wear-and-tear on roads).
It is a no-brainer, removing lanes will decrease the number of drivers, and to a certain extent discourage driving in that area. This is the whole point of dedicated lanes - they discourage people from bringing their cars in that area. Now people are going to be angry about this - but the upsides include increased public transit usage, lesser noise and lesser maintenance on the roads!
But to the drivers that still are unable to switch from cars, perhaps a Dutch-style traffic lighting system may work, where the lights will go green when the roads are clear enough to give them the go. Of course, trams, cyclists, buses and pedestrians are given more priorities than the car.
Putrajaya should focus mobility based on the person, not the car. Cities around the world are now realizing all the downsides of a car-centric urban planning and are now on their way to make their cities more inviting and pleasing.
Yes France, belgium, and other nordic countries already had this long times ago in form of Van Hool Exquicity... Its basically a bi-articulated bus. Only this time ot features Autonomous driving.
A vehicle with no rails is nevevr a train... It runs on tyres so definitely a bus. This ART or trackless terminology is just creating more confusion created by the manufacturer instead of city planners
@@crysed7897 This reminds me of this "gadgetbahn" I read about, it's called the Guided Light Transit (GLT) and it has been used in two French cities, Nancy and Caen. Both of them have since closed and has been replaced by conventional trams on steel wheels and rails.
The GLT for a lack of a better explanation is just an over-engineered bus running on a single guide rail. They are not trains, they are buses, and therefore legally required to have license plates. Although less costly than rails and are able to climb steeper gradients (by 13%), the downsides of this system is because:
*1. It's proprietary:* That means only Bombardier is allowed to sell and maintain the GLT. Same goes to the ART
*2. The guidewheels can come off:* this happens a lot when they turn at corners
*3. It's not a smooth ride:* because _it's a bus,_ duh.
These problems are the _reason_ why Nancy and Caen got rid of them and replaced them with trams, which are not proprietary, the wheels stay on the steel tracks and the ride is much smoother.
Even most of the places in Malaysia don’t have pavement and tactile paving designed for pedestrians and visually impaired pedestrians
THANK U, thats what i tell Malaysians and they think im lying or just spouting nonsense, a very well evaluated point
Saya setuju. Terima Kasih ☕
it's a double articulated bus and those things have been introduced in any mid sized town around where I live in recent years
There are too many cars in the city and I don't think this gonna work well...cars still making traffic...but it's a good try...
Malaysia selalu berjaya.. tak akan ada projek yang tak berjaya... Selalu berjaya kalau untuk rakyat..
@werontan8664...Another option available in our already many modes of public transport...isn't gonna hurt.Maybe with ample time it will be quite popular and beneficial to the people and fairly profitable to the service provider who knows...😂
Putrajaya is like the cool kid who gets all new transport and city planning, while other cities cry in the corner.
Putrajaya is has no working public transport except buses. Fail model for public transport.
Never liked Putrajaya.... Wide expansive soulless area with desert-like weather and man-made structures
kl better
We cant simply build every settlement a public transportation, one must look the economic important and population so it wont go waste and unused
Singapore be like: Finally, just a few more decades and u will come to my level.
Nice! Can't wait to try! Hoping it stops in Putrajaya Sentral.
Which exit of ioi putrajaya is the tram at?
kalau elevated setuju.. kalau jalan biasa tak setuju... nanti jem
wider road leads to more congestion, ever heard of induced demand and road diet?
@@farez1577 never heard of that.. So elevated seems good to you
@@farez1577 thus having dedicated grade separated lane is the only working option.
Good start.....
Anything that is cost effective to improve the public service is a good initiative. The cost of ART is also lower than LRT. The only concern is the feasibility. Does putrajaya have the population to sustain it? What is the frequency during rush hours? Will it connect to cyberjaya too? If it all makes sense then it’s going to be great to have it! I hope all other cities will have it too
They should make a slogan
"Its Art"
Put grade separated ARTs on future KL BRT lines, putrajaya doesn't need heavy capacity mass transit, KL, penang and Johor is congested enough.
kl x sudah2 bg negeri lain pulak lah igt malaysia ni kl selangor je ke😂
Georgetown Penang, Ipoh, JB need this.
@@peacevkw especially Penang and Johor because of the Singapore border congestion and Penang island traffic....
@@suhandatankerbuild a MRT for Johor would be better as it sees demand of over 5000 people per direction on some routes, a mix of MRT/LRT and ART + Bus is the way forward, different solutions for different routes
At the point of grade separation you might as well just turn it into a mini metro
bas panjang.sangkut jem jugak tak? kena stop kt trafic light?
Who got the contract to supply? Nego, appointed or open tender?
Whatever good for the public, I love it.
The race of ART, Putrajaya beat Kuching for what JB has rejected long time ago. At least in Kuching the tram will have separate lanes. 4 years of construction for 3 different routes. Very slow progress.
JB was a failure, too much resistance from car users, im happy Putrajaya implemented it
coming to Putrajaya from Singapore this june, hope theywould increase frequency
Please don’t come
@@namazlur78 u think I will listen to u?
Can’t wait to try this🎉
It may not be perfect for now, but we can see the improvements now, im currently staying in KL for couple days, all public transportation are now under construction for proper maintenance, including KL Sentral
As what they announced in the ktm, the project took 6 years (2024 - 2029)
hoping for the best for Malaysia
Thank you for people who working on it.
kalau jalan jem tak ada guna nya. idea sudah bagus. mesti ada laluan khas yang di block untuk art supaya kenderaan lain tak masuk.
But if you’re doing enough of that, might as well add some rails and wires and then you have an actual tram.
Setuju .kalau xde laluan khas tiada beza dgn bas biasa bersesak jem.. lawa je bezanya
How many will be plying the street? If only one then it doesn't make much different
That's one fancy BUS!
If jog around lakes ponek can balik dgn baih...😅
These train system is useful hope rapid kl can implement in many many place
It’s not even a tram at all. Just a very large bus and the way it works it’ll just end up creating de facto rails in the form of indentations on the road surface
Amazing
Looks like it is feasible in some areas, eg Putrajaya only LOL !
How? It seems super difficult to drive and I don't see how it can run on normal road with lots of cars...
Sangat indah kota putra jaya❤love from jakarta
@ajiputra4771..terima kasih saudara..selamat datang kalau ada peluang!
Sarawak had been using ART in kuching and followed by Putrajaya.
we have this kind of transport in many rural Indonesian named Kereta kelinci. It even has natural air flow by having no glass window... 😂
Why it has Automated in its name but is not automatic
Dr Putrajaya hingga mana?.
So if got traffic jam how? It doesn't have its own track, whats the purpose we want to avoid jam.
3 trip sehari je?
Have you never heard of articulated busses?
function same je mcm bas, just capacity lebih drpd bas dgn name je lain mcm grand la sket dengonye , ok la initiative ni utk public,
都不知道中车集团有卖马来西亚ART
Should we tap our card before boarding it.
Is it a tram or an articulated bus?
Masa zaman Covid dulu dah pernah buat test drive kat Nusajaya dan keputusannya korang tau2 jela. Maleh nak cakap lebih2.....
May I know is this all time free or until when? Where is the station?
Its free only for malaysian citizens. Foreigners need to pay 😂. No station yet it is test run
Dah free kami mat Bangla nk dtg boleh ke? Kalu ada peluang nk berniaga kecik2 sikit😋
works on straight roads and GENTLE BENDS with few cars and bikes.
Thats the way forward, thank you
I see just a bus not a tram.
I don't think this is too big of a deal. If it has the kind of "sensors" that they call invisible tracks, like the models in china, that's very bad for the road because the tires will be passing by the same spots over and over. If it doesn't, then it's just a bi-articulated bus which has existed for a while now in places like europe or south-america
It will be much better with tracks
Is it also the kind of vehicles that they're planning in Kuching?
Yup
Nice city.
Kuching pun akan beli juga
Nice try for whatever it is..!
Indeed, we need more public transportation. Not just in Selangor, KL and Putrajaya mainly but in other states also..
If it's not even a tram/LRT/MRT, just increase the bus transportation to begin with.
My opinion only. Don't condemn me..😭🙂
Yes add this to Ipoh
melaka x nk buat ke
melaka ada monorail kan ? 🤣museum monorail
Mmg tak begerak la bas tu kalau baut di melaka trafic light bersepah😂
Ktm door have aquarium really?
I don't doubt the vehicle, I prefer this more than LRT, MRT, KTM, whatever we have nowadays. It's street leveled instead of a "station", you just hop in and out, it has the space of a train, it has more capacity per driver. In the end, it's the long walking distance to the stops, really long wait time interval at the stop and short routes will make it not an attractive choice.
Sabah and Sarawak needs extensive railway development. I think Peninsular have enough land networks for the time being.
Yes but it is sustainable? The energy consumption suggest otherwise
So is a bus?
Buat satu airport kat pjaya. Baru effective transportation ini.
Tukar bas jd tandas bergerak
ART works well, if there’s no traffic on the roads to begin with, just like Putrajaya and not the surrounding towns and the connecting roads and highways leading to it. 🤣
Best is always the underground metro. Solves construction problem upfront.
Art will use own designated lane
Rayaat yg naik kena Jaga kebersihan & sebginya. mcam diTuckey .

Where all the people ??? 😂 i'm used to see heavily congested Jakarta 😂
Working in the offices. It is administrative city. You want to see people come during holiday.
u mean a bus?
Isn't this just a BUS masquerading as a tram?
That's a bus.
This looks like its going to be another gadgetbahn if they don't give it special separated lanes to travel in so it can bypass traffic
Why not double decker bus instead of this fancy ‘tram’ , no different from bus
Good can go for a free ride...👍👏🏻😃
It is definitely more comfortable than a bus, but will it be too costly? And what if accidents happen? And will it cause traffic jam if stop let passengers in and again and again ...
Apa beza ni dengan bas?
Nampak cantik
bas nmpk mcm kat negare2 miskin, tram nmpk mcm kat Europe.
Bus kecil ..art panjang feel like naik elektrik train
Kena jadikan laluan monorail sebagai laluan ART....
Wow! Trackless bus 👁️👄👁️
So a bus?
is it diesel, battery, solar etc. No mention of the fuel source. i can work in Putrajaya because traffic is low there. Anywhere else kaput!
Elektrik bus
Johor punya ke tu? 😅
Masa covid kata nak launch ART, sampai skrg pun tak jumpa ART ni kat JB..malaysia hanya ada KL/Selangor kah? Negeri lain tak penting kah?
This is BUS.
The funny thing is that the entire city is a ghost town. So the testing is already in an unusual environment. Low traffic and even lower foot traffic.
Bus. That's a bus.
Wow ! But is it not a risk to other vehicle?
Service frequency? Once an hour?
got a genuine question. isnt this "trackless tram" just a fancy articulated bus? whats the difference?
Marketing tactic 😂 Better to build actual trams than this
8 Jun 2024 sampai harini ART Sarawak di bandaraya Kuching belum siap-siap lagi. Entah bila nak siap? Huhh🙄😒
lepas tu nnti ada kereta terbabas langgar semua dlm train??.. apela xde lorong sendiri atau track sendiri... better buat mrt lagi bagus...
We need not go to San Franciso to ride the tram now. In fact this is better!
"Bus in Putrajaya opens for free public trial"
What is the frequency of service? If the waiting time is too long then it is not worth it. I prefer a tracked tram like the tried and proven ones in Europe.
1. Only 3 trips per day. What good is that?
2. The current buses in Putrajaya already is under-utilised. Instead of having a very long bas masqueraded as a "tram", it'd be better to have the buses but increase their frequency.
My 2 cents.
1. Anda lupa ini hanya fasa testing
2. Projek perintis. Biasa buat kat lokasi tertentu dahulu sebelum diimplikasikan sepenuhnya. Tujuan utk menguji keberkesanan infra atau kemudahan yg dibina
KL GOKL O8 LINE NEEDS IT
Just make a goddamn trains and trams 🤣
