Cheap and Easy Drum DIY

Today I decided to make a really quick and easy drum for a local larp game! It is nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. I wanted something that was a step up from a little child's drum but not quite a professional drum set either. All the tutorials I was able to find seemed to be one or the other with little in between.
So hopefully there are others out there like me who wanted something in the middle!

Big thumbs up for more bards - this is my current favourite Bard ua-cam.com/video/BF5gdvMyuOs/v-deo.html I have even Larped with him in person. The drum project is pretty cool, although you will get a much better sound with leather. Especially the sort of leather that you cut off some one else's couch when they throw it away. If animal products are a no no for you, Vinyl with work almost as well if you get it tight. I am almost inspired to go and make an Orc wardrum now.

That is great XD I have a mighty need to bring an accordion to a larp now. And thank you for the tip as well! I briefly considered that, but didn't happen to have enough on hand to do so at the time. Whooops. I will definitely have to try another with leather though!

One think you could also do is make an Irish Bodran style drum. Just buy an old circular cake form and tie and tention your fabric that way. Will look a bit like a scaled down shamanic drum

Nice! I just bought an African (I think) drum with leather and fur yesterday from the thrift store for like $7. I’ve never played drums but my character needs some music in her life lol

Also tinwhistles are a good starter instrument if you actually want to play something, costs like $10 at most and pretty easy to pick up

the person im cosplaying has 5 drums on his back. i already spent a lot of money on this cosplay/ i can paint it so thats a great and it just fit with everything so well i put packing tape under to make the sound better you should try it!
