The Warriors are insanely talented individually but without Steve Kerr I highly doubt they would have been able to win their two rings. He's the reason the Warriors are able to play so well as a team and intermediately had an impact after Mark Jackson was fired by creating an offense predicated on teamwork and ball movement. Massive respect for the guy especially since he seems so chill as well

Mark Jackson is overrated trash.
Jackson set up the Warriors as a strong defensive team, which he visualized would be the first necessary step in climbing back into contention.
He was right. It was. Kerr took that and ran with it.
Jackson was part of the management team that sent Monte Ellis away and put the keys to the franchise in Steph Curry's hands.
That worked out pretty darned well, too, over the loud objection of many Warriors fans and sports bloggers at the time.
Jackson was a competent NBA coach, one who absorbed lessons from other great coaches in the league, notably Popovitch, and applied those lessons. Was he better than Kerr? Maybe not, but that's no reason to call him 'trash.' His decisions helped the Warriors to climb out of the basement and into contention. He's a pretty nice guy, too.

You just gotta love Steve Kerr. He's got a huge point here on having everyone involved. I remember reading that on Phil Jackson's book, like how he told MJ he needed him to score less so the team could win a championship. GREAT interview, Nick.

Stvee Kerr really stands out simply by his attitude to coach Nick. The patience, the compliment, the recognition.. These are key qualities as a leader and also - at least partially - why he can make Warriors run a team offence like the spurs when they have 5 super stars on the court. The genuine humbleness he shows is rarely seen among people of his status.
Well said Kevin. You'd never really think the guy makes five million a year, his kindness and genuine love of the game really shines through. A+ human being, you don't see them too often.
Coach Kerr is the brains behind the Warrior's offense. Dont' forget that Mark Jackson had much of the same pieces Kerr inherited (Curry, Klay, Draymond, Iggy), but had a stagnant offense. Kerr picked up the great defense Jackson put in and then handcrafted this amazing offense.

Best interview you've ever done. What a gracious guest Steve Kerr was. Wasn't acting like he was rushed for time. Was putting effort into answering every question in a way that wouldn't leave the interviewer with questions afterwards. Kerr is a great dude. I liked him when he played in the league, and I like him even more as a coach. He seems so laid-back and humble on off-days when he's not coaching a game, but man he gets fired up with the best of them on game nights lol.

Since he was still a commentator on TV I listened to his comments about how the game is played through analysis. I knew that if he would become a coach someday he will be great and now I was not mistaken. He's one of my favorite coach of all time since Phil Jackson and Gregg Popovich!
