I like how he says "I don't know what to say" after 4 minutes 19 seconds of talking about Daigo. It's the way of the beast, he can't be explained and therefore he cannot be tamed.
Yeah Daigo is really that good and I think a big part of it is just natural ability and practice. Daigo might not have the best execution but lets be honest its very near the top. He has near flawless execution most of the time
That's an awesome interview.. But I would say that as brilliant as Daigo is (and he is), he gets beaten in Japan fairly regularly.. A lot of the hype comes from beating US based players. Japan and Korea are on another level.. His win rates are more than likely lower there, you just don't hear about it..
@IEOA Oops, my bad man. I meant to type "first name". I just woke when i typed that LOL. Anyway, what i meant to say was DAIGO rearranged I A GOD. Hence the incredible skills. Peace.
Far from it. Hard to put proper context into text. That shouldn't have been ellipses after "great" since it just sounds like I'm being sarcastic. At the time, I thought he would have been an "okay" replacement considering Seth was pretty much into FG theory from the guides he's made and I haven't really seen any kind of work online about fighting games coming from David other than the above video. His love for SF and the players (particularly Daigo) is clearly shown here though which is great.
dude, daigo's combo execution is more than very good. maybe he doesn't like to do some crazy combos in game very often. but look at him does the ryu ssf4 trials in ssf4. i mean he did it some easy. plus i haven't seen nobody in game did that c.mp + c.hp+dp + FADC + ultra consistently!! shut up david!
if that story about seth saying let's count and he does 9 in a row is true, then i have no doubts that daigo is demon possessed by Satan aka the beast, and the devil was flexing on seth and sirlin, because he knew they would tell this story and make daigo's legend even greater.
@SuperLoligator Schaeffer had the better win rate, plus not to mention getting a lot of perfects on him. anyways your theory is right in a way. A>B doesnt mean A>C, so i will say this. Tomo is better then Daigo in SF2 (even though he never played for long). in a hypothetical fight... i think Tomo would dominate in a match between him and Daigo.
@Xecutionner2K yea thats why i clearly stated in SF2 Daigo was not the best of all time. but your right though, im not disagreeing with you. when it comes down to whos been the top in almost every fighting game its clear Daigo is the best.
@akathetruthteller he has being doing the same motions for over a decade,so how do you expect him to miss a goddman combo dude. he sometimes fucks up his combos. in terms of fighting game execution kof or vf are harder
LOL @ Daigo spamming DP in Guilty Gear and winning. DP's really aren't that solid as anti-airs in the game. Takes some raw skill to be able to crush people using just that.
@Chaldean4life91 OFC, in SUPER TURBO, the level has been the highest ever. Daigo has been beaten in this game, clearly. Because the old vets only played super turbo and sticked to it. Daigo get recognizion you know why ? He plays 24/7 every games. Other don't, even though some are better than him.
@Chaldean4life91 daigo started playing in the st days. Whereas tomo is just oldschool sf2. When super turbo came out, he could hardly beat Mike watson. Thats why he quit.
@SuperLoligator i CAN call him the best because of one simple fact. you eve heard of a guy named Jeff Schaeffer? this guy was on over 10 year break...was playing a shitty irritation of ST (the one on AE edition where Blanka isnt the same) and still perfected Daigo a bunch of rounds. he totally outplayed him. wanna hear the best part? Schaeffer said Tomo was 10X stronger then he was...to the point of saying in the OG days no one could touch Tomo except Mike Watson...but Tomo was still better.
I like how he says "I don't know what to say" after 4 minutes 19 seconds of talking about Daigo. It's the way of the beast, he can't be explained and therefore he cannot be tamed.
i wanna hear the story of why this was filmed inside a rec room.
Daigo told them to film it there.
Sirlin at the gym FTW
more sirlin

@DannyCybar
Daigo is his first name. Umehara is his family name.
Daigo was playing Street Fighter 2 in his mothers womb.
IT'S BIFF FROM BACK TO THE FUTURE!!
I like how they are interviewing at a gym... so random.
just kicking back at a gym

description is very wrong. Sirlin is wrong. Daigo is not the best of all time (not in SF2 anyways). ever heard of Tomo, Sirlin?

@woofycakes yeah he's at the gym but he's obviously not there to work out
What are you doing at the gym?
I thought this was going to be one of those silly videos where someone places David Sirlin on top of Daigo Umehara
stairsteppin

@AlphaQSilly You'd be insane to deny what either of those players have accomplished. Why must people knock others down to praise someone else?
your lack of a chin indicates that this is your first time in a gym

im jealous you got to play him in guilty gear T_T
yes he is special, he is asian
@playtoyx Wait, that's only death.
It's Voodoo
And aparently hes the guy replacing seth in capcom...a fan of Daigo umehara...great...
but compared to someone who traveled the world?
@SuperLoligator

@captainflapjacks LMMFAO!!!!
Interesting insight into what he isn't, Sirlin thinks that deep shit.
