You just follow their interests. And older kids still like a few fun things as well. They appreciate clothes and useful things more which is nice. We always ask our kids for a wishlist so we have somewhere to start. But knowing what they are into is all that's really needed.

Just turned twenty, recent years my parents have just given me money for Christmas (which I’m grateful for), because they’d always say they don’t know what I have going on now. Not all Americans get this much. I just got a pair of leggings, some socks, and art pencils. I think it all comes down to the family and also how much income they have.

I'm 20, and my body acts like an 80 year old mans body, so my mom got me a massage mat and a full body heating pad. The year before she got me a back brace that heats up and massages. It's kind of hilarious how I get presents like I'm in a nursing home, but hey, they work sometimes

If you want to complain about a privileged christmas, go complain to the Kardashians, they’re the ones that deserve your complaints.

I got my 24 year old daughter, a dresser drawer, Diapers, baby wipes, 2 outfits, and a base for a carseat. She's pregnant, so everything goes to the baby. I did buy her personally, a long winter coat and some long boots.
That is still A LOT of stuff, especially considering that it doesn't even include gifts from family members. Yes, it's much more reasonable than what many influencers give their kids, but let's not pretend that this doesn't still qualify as "spoiling".

If she has a job and pays for her stuff the rest of the year, and gets a little splurge from mom of Christmas, I highly doubt shes spoiled. All things considered, we simply don’t know enough to say that this one christmas haul is spoiling her.
And here I am, only receiving gifts worth 50€, in total because that's what my dad decided to do (not because we were poor). If I wanted just one thing that was worth more than 50€, I was screwed.
It sounds like they are reasonable and want to raise kids that aren't materialistic and appreciate everything they have even though they are rich. AirPods are more than enough of a Christmas gift.
