My goodness ! Simply Goosebumps while listening to this ! What happens when three stalwarts decide to get together & have a go ? They create a memorable melody that will last forever. While Bhimsen & Vasantrao we might have heard a million times, but Bhargavram ? That voice is pure sugarcane, perfectly oiled, it'll pass through any dimension. Only those who've watched the original " Katyaar Kaljaat" live & heard his " Din Gele, Bhajanavin Saare" will bear me out. I've been lucky & fortunate enough to have witnessed that ! Thanks as always Farhan ! 👍
Manik Varma, Bhargavram Achrekar, and Vasantrao Deshpande represented the three styles of singing popularized on Marathi stage by the giants Balgandharva, Keshavrao Bhosle and Deenanath Mangeshkar. Bhimsenji represented the Baithak version of Balgandharva's singing.
A classic masterpiece....there is one more recording of the trio singing “Avaghachi Sansar”. Those who attended are really blessed to have seen and heard these Masters! Thank you for sharing and allowing us to enjoy such unique ‘mehfil’.
Suraj Wan has shared two other songs by this trio, from perhaps the same jalsa: 1. Tumha to Shankara sukhakara ho: ua-cam.com/video/bKCaT7iRO5A/v-deo.html 2. Avaghachi sansaar: ua-cam.com/video/Boqhi6Z3aGw/v-deo.html
Hehe. I found it by chance on cooltoad, after a friend mentioned the website. There's also rare stuff to be found on SoundCloud occasionally. Long live the Internet!
