If you've read the book of revelation in the bible it speaks of a time when everyone would turn from God and how at the very end there will be a return to him, but after much tragedy and eternal night (figuratively). It reminds me that even though so many people have turned away from God, a time is coming that all will come back to him and remember him again. I, as a staunch Christian, find this song quite lovely, and even sang it in Church once as a reminder that even if people are turning away now, we will return to him soon enough. :)
