At different orgen there is different type of receptor. Different types of receptor have different functions. For example on Neuromuscular junction there are Nicotinic receptor, on Heart and GIT there is Muscarinic receptor. @@rithiskaasudhaakaran1614 basically according to fluid mosaic model membrane is quasi fluid so it means that lateral movement of protein is possible,so when lipid or steroid hormone has to cross the membrane the proteins (integral proteins) do lateral movement and make some space for that lipid or steroid hormone to pass.
