Spencer Hughes! Greatest videos you put out there for us. When I'm checking out what came in, I'm always so excited when I see your name. Love your videos so much. Glad you're out there filming all kinds of events that take place. Thank you!
Awesome aircraft. I missed the 2017 NAS Oceana Air Show, but I hope to make next year's show. The weather did not really cooperate very much last year. I have been to many airshows in many different locations, but the best air show I have ever seen took place at sea. It was put on solely for the crews of the ships in our battlegroup (and was before 9/11). What was really great about our little airshow at sea, was the aircraft went supersonic, and dropped real ordnance as well. And being onboard the aircraft carrier, I got a really good view of our airshow at sea. Truly awesome!

He was turning hard. F18 is a turning jet. You know it can go just as fast and high and turn just as sharp with a full load or without. Not many aircraft can do that. Tho not as fast, it turn much harder then f15s. Amazing plane

Spencer, nice work... We never get that kind of low clouds here that often here in San Francisco. Did you shoot any stills? The last time I remember we had clouds and fog for Fleet Week, couldn't even see the Blues when they tried to fly their low show. Vapor like that makes some great images. Semper Fi.

Rnl Valen ok thanks .Its faster than the new jets public released speeds but im sure the f-22 and f-35 are faster than they claim .even f-18 new upgrades will be held secret for a while . It does compliment the stealth jets.
F-35A has publicly disclosed 1200 mph with full internal combat loads. F-18's 1190 mph is for clean configurations i.e. no external bombs. Speed of sound is not a single constant like Mph or Km/h Using NASA's F/A-18's speed of sound divider. F-35A at 1200 mph yields mach 1.815. LM uses 745.34 Mph for it's speed of sound divider. Read www.grc.nasa.gov/www/k-12/WindTunnel/Activities/knots_vs_mph.html Refer to I.C.A.O. Standard Atmosphere table. Altitude (relates to air density) vs speed of sound example sea level = 761 MPH 10000 feet = 734 MPH 20000 feet = 701 MPH 30000 feet = 678 MPH 40000 feet = 660 MPH 50000 feet = 660 MPH
It's certainly no F-18 Hornet, but it still flies OK! Anyway, great vid work here! Personally, I'd advocate for a joint-venture program to develop a superior, modified, ground-based variant of the Super. Maybe with India? Think higher-rated F414IN engines (w/ thrust vectoring paddles(?)), a non-folding, stronger fixed wing (or even a full redesign F-23-type wing?), enhanced CFT with integrated maws apertures and built-in counter-measure dispensers, dsi intakes (?) and possibly even all-moving canted tail, a la F-23.. Give incentive say, to compensate 50% (?) of relevant r&d costs if it's ready for LRIP within 3-yrs?
vachief thanks for reply! A redesigned joint-service F-23 is an interesting concept which could theoretically be an accelerated alternative next-gen multi-role platform. It could be a compromise too as it could be jointly manufactured by all three Boeing, Northrop and LMT. It would probably still take around 10 yrs to develop and be ready for LRIP, so I guess my comment was more so considering an overlapping medium-term stopgap concept as pondered above - some design elements by the way which could also potentially be incorporated into such an hypothetical next-gen F23 type design.
vachief , F-16XL type would have been a superior single engine next-gen stopgap design for USAF to have procured instead of F35, at least until a viable joint-service 6th gen or 5.5 gen platform could have been properly designed and developed (think 12 years process +/- until LRIP begins). If you're talking about a scaled down single engine F23 though, just make sure it still has at least 600nm combat radius on internal fuel, with 5 minutes air combat turning. And make sure it has internal bays for at least 4x 4m, 600lb class AAM rounds. Then we can agree ; ). Whereas your 'go-cheap go swarm' concept such as with Sherman tanks albeit with insufficient range and fire power would not be a credible or sustainable tactical platform in a future air war. However, perhaps a mixed future TACAIR force structure could be envisioned to include a true high-end, single, twin, or even triple(?) engined manned-capable medium tactical platform at around 35-40,000 lbs empty weight (@ around 20 units annually), + a lighter-weight mass-produced tactical UAV to fill the Sherman Tank role ?? All that said, I maintain that a credible interim advanced joint-service medium multi-role fighter such as proposed (redesigned, modified Super Hornet as existing baseline) could be a strategic, prudent near-term investment and solution, especially if some of the redesign elements and components could be transferred to an all-new, cost-effective, next-gen 5+ gen platform design process.

Loved the vapour but the demo left a lot to be desired. I’m glad the pilot knows how to turn though 👏.

Where are the Miramar air show 2017 videos
Rhino vapor makes me happy !! Doesn't sound right but dammit its true !!
Starting with landing gear disappearing into the flip, what a class
What a Pilot WOW
How did you bring your camera in if they ban backpacks? How did you carry it?
FlightSimulatorXATC camera bags and drawstrings are allowed in
Joey Brown my camera bag is on the larger side. If I put both my lens in a see through drawstring bag would that be okay?
FlightSimulatorXATC yeah but if it's that concerning every airshow you can ask what's allowed and what's not
Joey Brown yeah I just saw this airshow and a small number of others are super limiting on things like that. Seems like it's a military base thing tbh
FlightSimulatorXATC yeah it is a military base thing but it's not bad when it says backpacks it means well backpacks lol but pretty much any bag can be brought in as long as it's not to big
