So many pilots publish their carefully-edited paragliding videos, making their flying skills appear perfect. They remember the great times, and filter out the mistakes. It's the most dangerous type of confirmation bias. Even the sky gods make errors - I've seen it. Humility, the motivation to always improve, regardless of how good you think you are, and good communication with your fellow pilots, makes the best pilot, imo. Respect to you for sharing this video, and for not taking yourself too seriously. I look forward to the sequel (we'd all have a video like this, if we're honest). PS. Keep your airspeed up when landing, and then do a full flare, hard. This will solve many of your landing issues.

Hello @Karel, thank you for sharing. My friendly advice is that you get an instructor or do a course with a school as soon as possible to correct these mistakes which can quickly become very serious injuries and even deadly. Instruction will cost you less than the "price" you might pay otherwise... Please contact me if you need help finding a school/instructor in your area(we can look together) and/or other advice. I've been in the sport for more than 14 years and have seen 5 deaths and many many back operations, broken bones, knees, ankles and wrists from falls just like some of the falls in your videos. I wish you all the best.

It's cool that you're not ashamed to post it, as you've said it. But that much 'fail' content could cover 10 pilots easily. Don't be offended, but please to reconsider consulting paragliding instructors before 2020. It's not how we want paragliding to look like...

mistakes happens. Wrong landing happens. The more you do, the more errors you can, mathematically, do. but seeing so many from the same pilot in ONE season... buddy, you're brave, I grant you that, but there is something wrong here. The next landing may break your back for good

Boží Karlos. Neznám lepšiho borce z celého UA-cam, který ukáže i tu druhou stranu mince a né pouze načančaný videa, jaký je super pilot. Přiští rok (2022) zkusím první kurz a uvidím, jak mě to chytne. Z kometářů se dají pochytit zajímave věci např. začít brzdit cca 2 metry nad zemí. Každopádně na nových videích lítáš hodně dobře!

@@best.paragliding you shouldn't fly an Axis Comet for the moment. Usually for the fist year of flying an EN-A or at most a low EN-B glider allows you to progress much faster and safer.
In some comments I am kidding, do not take it seriously, but it adds much to views. Give me a chance and in the next video show better performance, what do you think? It will be motivation for me and it will be safer. Yes I made mistakes, yes they were repeated, yes I had to fly to EN-A and not high EN-B and yes I have great luck.

Ahoj! Ten padak neni pro uplny zacatecniky a ja nemel dost nalitano a taky to je o vyberu podminek, ktery nebyly vzdycky vhodny. Je to kazdopadne krasnej sport, ale pozor, az budes litat, maloco ostatni te bude bavit! :-D
jako dobré video, příště bych k tomu namluvil nějaký krátký úvod, možná i celé bych to komentoval jako že z malé webcamery a potom bych určitě přidal nějaký snímky z rtg, třeba toho lokte, to by mohlo být fajn, no a samozřejmě více angličtiny i v popiscích přímo ve videu!
I love it! And only serious accident was in 1:10 - elbow dislocation but after 3 weeks I was back in the air:). Other were only funny accidents without any harms, mostly bad decisions (direction) on landing. I had over 150 takeoffs this year.
I think you should consider the way you are taking paragliding. I’ve checked your latest videos and you have improved, but there are still big errors which are clearly a lack of base information. I’ve been flying for two years and a half and I have won some competitions, even done a 287 km flight with an EN-C glider. All without having a bad landing nor takeoff. What I refer to is that you can improve a lot your level without putting yourself into risk if you set a good base of knowledge and skills before you step up to more difficult tasks. Please think about it
Hello, could you be more specific? What was big errors this year? And competition and big crosscountry flights are mainly about time. I cant even I dont want fly to much often and I use only local takeoff site. Thats why I dont have any aspiration in competition flying...
Hey Karel intersting video. Looks like Certak and Brna is creating a lot of excitement:) I try to avoid especially Certak ones had a situation when the wind died and about 30 pilots went for the soccer field pretty much at the same time... chaos Where is the start @ minute 3.04? Happy landings!!!!

And 30 pilots on soccer field - uff, maybe I try land to shallow of river, it had to be terrible :-D 3:04 is Úhošť, near city Kadaň (here is start: mapy.cz/s/lebubarame ), it isnt usual starting place.
gripping risers is a habit that will come back to bite you bro... you may think it is nothing and if so then you are ok with that.... it increases collapse juze and frequency just when you dont need it... when you need maximum active piloting... try not to touch the risers for a few years and you will be safer... happy to chat if you like to ... nice compilation bro

Hi, if all these incidents happened in only one year, maybe you should do ground handling and SIV training to improve your skills. Maybe also fly with a wing more adapted to your level. Fly safe and enjoy yourself
Thaught I would swoop in through very long grass just recently. Didn't consider what might happen if my foot got caught. Boom face plant!! I just need to have a camera running more often.

Judging by the landing speed and the way the wing falls front of you - your first priority must be to learn how to understand which way the wind blows. Next - ground handling. A lot.

we have a saying in Belgium : a good pilot is an old pilot :) maybe think about slowing it down a notch and getting advice from old guys (along with instruction + SIV clinic etc.). We call them old lads 'heavyweights' and that's not only because their took more years of experience into beer drinking..
Letos jsem začal, tak mi není jen uplně jasný co jsi udělal blbě v 0:35 že se stalo něco takového ? :D Jakože někdo tu psal totiž, že jsi udělal chybu, tak nwm, já z toho vidím jenom že jsi chtěl zatočit doprava :D
Byl to den, kdy jsem sám šel na Čerťák :D a odpoledne mel zesilovat vítr, jasná obloha... Šel jsem hned ráno, slabý, přistál jsem nahoře. Šel jsem hned podruhý a bylo to silný a foukal dost východ. Na toplandingu jsou vždycky rotory, mění se podle směru a síly větru, termiky atd., no a já se vykracoval na špatným místě, kde byl ten rotor nejsilnější, byl jsem k němu nejspíš i bokem a letěl jsem trimovou rychlosti - moje myšlenka, abych se z těch sraček rychle dostal :-D opravdu to chce mít v takových turbulencích spíš trochu nabržděno. Takže závěr pozor na rotory a záložka funguje i 40m nad zemí (nechci to zlehčovat, místní mravokárci se poserou , ale baví mě ty komentáře:-D)

It was big collaps in rotor on landing site. And I was OK, no scratch:) And I use reserve parashute 40-50m above ground, very quickly in right time :-D
This collaps was 50m agl, I try solve this with brakes but nothing hapend and I fall about 14m/s and activate rescue parashute after few seconds in right time:) I have full video on channel

Ahoj, taky jsem začínal s C2 a i když je to hodné křídlo, tak dneska vím že to na začátek nebyla moc rozumná volba 😁. Byl jsem na tom dost podobně jako ty 🙈. Ale vydrž, to se poddá. Jde vidět že se toho nebojíš, pokrok přijde sám 👍

Karel, this is not Funny!!! This is not safe for you and for other pilots! if you want to fly safe, go to 1 year only groundhandling theh go to fly school, then go to SIV!!! If not then go to swimming or some similar sport. Ask anybody... And talk with some local XC or PVC pilots about your "funny" moments... they will tell you, just ask...
Dude... I've had over 500 flights in my first year, and not even a tiny fraction of this kind of carnage. Stop trying to defend yourself. You need practice and an instructor. You're lucky to have survived.

This video just screams carelessness and ego. For example; I've fallen exactly three times on landing. This video shows at least a dozen utter shit, poorly planned landings with bad lines & worse technique.

Good videos about paragliding will get sufficient views spontaneously... There is no need to be offensive in your remarks only to attract more views, because with that you are disrespectful to many of us who’s lives got severely impacted by accidents they had themselves and/or saw happening to friends. It’s an awful thing that comes with such a beautiful sport. Think about what you are targeting to message, and if positioning things like this is an effective and considerate approach.

Hello, could you be more specific? What was big errors this year? And competition and big crosscountry flights are mainly about time. I cant even I dont want fly to much often and I use only local takeoff site. Thats why I dont have any aspiration in competition flying...

3:04 is Úhošť, near city Kadaň (here is start: mapy.cz/s/lebubarame ), it isnt usual starting place.

gripping risers is a habit that will come back to bite you bro... you may think it is nothing and if so then you are ok with that.... it increases collapse juze and frequency just when you dont need it... when you need maximum active piloting... try not to touch the risers for a few years and you will be safer... happy to chat if you like to ... nice compilation bro
Thanks a lot for the feedback! This video is a few years old, it has changed a lot. But sometimes even now I make the mistake of touching the risers when getting to the harness:-/.

BUT the main thing is you are no longer in the habit of touching when your UNDER STRESS cause this is the time you need maximum active flying input LIKE WHEN YOUR IN BAD AIR OR ROTOR and sadly, the moment that the risers are grabbed, active flying STOPS IMMEDIATELY ...cruel but fair...?.

Hi, if all these incidents happened in only one year, maybe you should do ground handling and SIV training to improve your skills. Maybe also fly with a wing more adapted to your level.

Judging by the landing speed and the way the wing falls front of you - your first priority must be to learn how to understand which way the wind blows.
Next - ground handling. A lot.

we have a saying in Belgium : a good pilot is an old pilot :) maybe think about slowing it down a notch and getting advice from old guys (along with instruction + SIV clinic etc.). We call them old lads 'heavyweights' and that's not only because their took more years of experience into beer drinking..

Letos jsem začal, tak mi není jen uplně jasný co jsi udělal blbě v 0:35 že se stalo něco takového ? :D Jakože někdo tu psal totiž, že jsi udělal chybu, tak nwm, já z toho vidím jenom že jsi chtěl zatočit doprava :D
Byl to den, kdy jsem sám šel na Čerťák :D a odpoledne mel zesilovat vítr, jasná obloha... Šel jsem hned ráno, slabý, přistál jsem nahoře. Šel jsem hned podruhý a bylo to silný a foukal dost východ. Na toplandingu jsou vždycky rotory, mění se podle směru a síly větru, termiky atd., no a já se vykracoval na špatným místě, kde byl ten rotor nejsilnější, byl jsem k němu nejspíš i bokem a letěl jsem trimovou rychlosti - moje myšlenka, abych se z těch sraček rychle dostal :-D opravdu to chce mít v takových turbulencích spíš trochu nabržděno. Takže závěr pozor na rotory a záložka funguje i 40m nad zemí (nechci to zlehčovat, místní mravokárci se poserou , ale baví mě ty komentáře:-D)

And I use reserve parashute 40-50m above ground, very quickly in right time :-D

This collaps was 50m agl, I try solve this with brakes but nothing hapend and I fall about 14m/s and activate rescue parashute after few seconds in right time:) I have full video on channel

@ yes, it was on tracklog. I flew without brakes (it was wrong) on landing site, but thermals and wind was strong and also rotor...

Ahoj, taky jsem začínal s C2 a i když je to hodné křídlo, tak dneska vím že to na začátek nebyla moc rozumná volba 😁. Byl jsem na tom dost podobně jako ty 🙈. Ale vydrž, to se poddá. Jde vidět že se toho nebojíš, pokrok přijde sám 👍

Karel, this is not Funny!!! This is not safe for you and for other pilots! if you want to fly safe, go to 1 year only groundhandling theh go to fly school, then go to SIV!!! If not then go to swimming or some similar sport. Ask anybody... And talk with some local XC or PVC pilots about your "funny" moments... they will tell you, just ask...
I even won a video award in local pilot club, I fly with them.

This video just screams carelessness and ego. For example; I've fallen exactly three times on landing. This video shows at least a dozen utter shit, poorly planned landings with bad lines & worse technique.

Możesz oglądać najnowsze filmy, jest tam pewna poprawa. Lądowanie w małej przestrzeni jest dla mnie nadal trudne. Dzięki za komentarz i wysyłam pozdrowienia do Polski! :)

Good videos about paragliding will get sufficient views spontaneously... There is no need to be offensive in your remarks only to attract more views, because with that you are disrespectful to many of us who’s lives got severely impacted by accidents they had themselves and/or saw happening to friends. It’s an awful thing that comes with such a beautiful sport. Think about what you are targeting to message, and if positioning things like this is an effective and considerate approach.
