Bfs is growing and nice to see a pro talk about it . I started bfs this year and its been a blast to the point that in open water situations i dont even want to grab anything else . I started out with the pw100 then kastking came up with the zephyr which i now have 2 one with the drag clicker. Its a great bfs reel for the money and maybe the best under $100 or at least one of them . Great work kastking on getting ahead of the American market for BFS!
As much as I love my Zephyr BFS there is a slight design flaw in it, light line like 4;b which is an expected line weight, sometimes gets caught between the spool and the housing. This is microscopic but exists and at time will catch the line. I love my BFS but at times it can cause a mess.
@@terribleatfishing I get plenty of distance on mine . These are ver light spools and thinner compared to normal size spools . Tighten the spool to minimize play then work your brakes . Also dont whip it when you cast. With bfs you have to cast smoothly .
@@okish02 thanks for the advice, I love my BFS but the design flaw does cause inherent problems. Bottom line your solution should not even be needed if it was engineered well. It is made for Light line and light lures, that is its whole point of being. Do what you said, a 1/16 oz cast would be short.
@@terribleatfishing Actually we are taught wrong when adjusting a baitcaster . We assume to let lure drop to a certain speed by using tension knob but that is incorrect. The play in spool should be minimal then you work the brakes depending on wind etc. Plus your dealing with lite line on top of it .
I want one but I’m concerned with frame flex at the reel seat when fighting fish anyone can advise on this being a carbon frame if it’s a solid carbon like Zion or ci4+???
Hi NLS, the frame and side plates are carbon fiber which is strong and light.Carbon fiber is lighter than aluminum and stronger than steel for its weight. It's strong enough for Bait Finesse Fishing.😁

Iam sorry, But some of my friend got the bad news, like strange sound when fast roll, and ball bearing not in place. Is the old model (whitout drag clicker) better QC than the new model (with drag clicker)? Iam from INA, And if i buy from online shop which is lazada is QC guaranteed? Tighten the spool to minimize play then just use brakes.
@@okish02 that drasticly reduces the cast distance, I am not sure if that will remedy it but I will pay attention if that will make a difference.

Just did ceramic spool speed bearings in mine. Video soon.
Hope the quality is better than the two VE"s I ordered and had to send both back due to broken parts out of the box.

bfs isnt just for light lures, you can cast light to medium heavy lures up to 10g no problem for big fish too
