I saw Tir Na Nog at a festival near Clacton in the early 70's. I recall quite a few Hells Angels causing problems at the event . Somehow these guys relaxed everyone. SImply enchanting stuff. I just ituned their first two albums- I still know all the words. thanks to whoever uploaded these videos.
Frank Quinn I am a young fan from New York I wish they could tour here. Quite a shame their albums were never released in the USA. Would love a vinyl copy of their first album
They were. I used to babysit for Philip when he played now and then. We were unpaid roadies here and there too but it was a pleasure I haven't forgotten.
Beautiful! Takes me back to a magical time. Now if only there was footage of Scullion in their early days...Sonny, Freddie White, Philip King et al during their residency at Toner's in Baggot St in the early 70's
If rain will fall high up here upon the mountain Grass will grow and shepherds will be thankful And our love will cover up for the mountain For time is like a promise it tries all your strength to keep to… Before she came I lived alone upon the mountain The ravens heard your voice high upon the wind Then one day you came to me upon the mountain For time is like a promise it tries all your strength to keep to… The sun goes down and shadows soon are interweaving But she lies so deep inside my love, surrounds her Time will outdo what's this I only know too well For love is like a promise it tries all your strength to keep to… If rain will fall high up here upon the mountain Grass will grow and shepherds will be thankful And our love will cover upon the mountain For time is like a promise it tries all your strength to keep to…
Tír na ńog. One of worlds best kept secrets.
takes me back to 1970 at st Andrew’s university when I had a Scottish girlfriend who loved this music . 53 years later I still enjoy it
My god does this take me back, saw these guys a few times Nottingham Boat Club, met them backstage 2 real nice guys, they deserve more recognition .
Beautiful singing and guitar is excellent. Loved it

Dear god this takes me right back to my student days in Sheffield 1971 when I first saw them!
was lucky my college roommate knew about this band, and introduced me to them. That was in California, nobody else seemed to know who they were.
Thank you for putting this channel together. Beautiful songs by Irelands top musicians. Simply a treat !!!!
When the tide of futile goes back, treasures reappears, precious, healers and eternal.

Great! Thank you for sharing....
Indeed they were - and still are, fortunately!
If rain will fall high up here upon the mountain
Grass will grow and shepherds will be thankful
And our love will cover up for the mountain
For time is like a promise it tries all your strength to keep to…
Before she came I lived alone upon the mountain
The ravens heard your voice high upon the wind
Then one day you came to me upon the mountain
For time is like a promise it tries all your strength to keep to…
The sun goes down and shadows soon are interweaving
But she lies so deep inside my love, surrounds her
Time will outdo what's this I only know too well
For love is like a promise it tries all your strength to keep to…
If rain will fall high up here upon the mountain
Grass will grow and shepherds will be thankful
And our love will cover upon the mountain
For time is like a promise it tries all your strength to keep to…
Love it.
Absolutely! Plus Leo and Sonny separately at Toner's and elsewhere. Those were magic times.
