Putt the stove on a platform covering the platform with matching wood under it.
Girl I swear I have never seen a home improvement that didn’t have drawbacks. Hang in, it will all be worth it.
Go in, climb into the recliner, and take a nice, long nap. You've earned it. Glad to see you save tidbits of the old kitchen from the pile. You'll find wonderful ways to use them.
I like the stove next to the fridge , I think it will give you more space in your kitchen and a added bonus is more counter space on the original stove wall . You can never have too much counter space . I grew up in an older home built in 1941 with a small kitchen with practically no counter space and the washing machine in the kitchen . It was a tight fit getting our family of six around the kitchen table for meals , but it was cozy and full of love . My daddy still lives there and every time I step back in the kitchen memories of my childhood come back 💕
Your kitchen is starting to look wonderful!!! My husband laid vinyl, wood, indoor-outdoor carpet for Sears, Roebuck for 20 years and worked at Home Depot in the flooring department for 24 years. It is HARD work. So kudos to your husband, Marion, for doing all that hard work! My hubby said be careful sliding things back into place (stove, refrig, dishwasher, etc.) as a lot of floors have been torn that way. He had some particle boards he used to slide stuff back when he finished a customer's job. I can't wait to see the whole kitchen finished. You will enjoy it for years to come!!! :)

If you are going to put your stove next to the refrigerator, put the 12 in. cabinet between them. I ran into that and was sorry I didn't. It will be lovely no matter what you two decide😊
Arika is the stress probably take a little break in between is always like that when you are doing something to your home, think about when is done and how much you will enjoy your new kitchen. You have the best husband! . Take care, sending u a hug!
I would totally move the stove and you could add a small piece of counter and cabinet next to the stove. You could use an exposed vent hood too.
I love what you have done so far, it all looks great. You and Marion are handling all the set backs with such a great attitude. Your videos are always the one I look for first when I open up UA-cam. I love your channel.

Loving these reno vlogs I totally know what you are dealing with it's so exciting to jump in and start tearing out the old but you never know what you are going to run into. My story is very much like yours I live in a small home about eighty years old, my hubby and I have renovated the whole house and we have done most of the work ourselves. We have done everything on a very tight budget and have done the work a little at a time as we can afford it. It is crazy what you find in the walls and under the floor boards when you start ripping things out. We have also had the crooked floor issues nothing ever seems to be level or square. But the end results are always beautiful and you appreciate them so much more because of the love, sweat, tears and hard work that you put into it. So hang in there my friend I know its hard living in a construction zone but you will be so proud of your new kitchen. Thank you for taking me along. Stay safe and healthy.

Wow you guys are working really hard. Not just the kitchen but 3 rooms really! So far it all looks amazing and I love the shelf brackets! Feel better!

I had a 2” difference in my kitchen floor but you’d never know it now!! It was a nightmare under my floor cupboards! But it all worked out.
I bought dimmable led lights for under my cabinets from Amazon. They are electric and absolutely awesome!!!

I would exchange the refrigerator and stove. The extra time it takes now will be so worth it later.

It’s coming along beautifully! You all are hard workers. :) The laundry room looks great, and I love the idea of the stove on the refrigerator wall. It’ll open up your kitchen and give you more storage.
The floor looks so great flowing from the kitchen into the laundry! Great paint colors, too.
You could get a microwave that goes above your stove, would get it off the counter. Vent fan is in the bottom of the microwave, vent pipe goes through a cabinet above. You don't want your refrigerator and stove to touch each other, the heat from the stove/oven makes the refrigerator have to work harder. There needs to be a little space between. I really like my built in trash pull out trash drawer.
Just an idea...you could hang the metal brackets upside down. Then they will look like "floating" shelves and anything you set on the shelf will hide the bracket on top. We did that here. Also, I think moving the stove next to the fridge is a great idea. I love watching all this fun remodeling! Hope you're feeling better?

ohhh, if you move your stove to the other side of your kitchen, you could do a half wall with bar stools and your pendant lights above.

Put the stove beside the refrigerator. It may take a little longer but you'll be happier. If you don't, I think that you'll probably regret it. I am really enjoying watching the transformation! TFS!

So glad to see things coming together for you! It's a lot of work but you'll be so happy in the end. I was glad to see Marion put some sort of shoe on when pulling up the tile! I was concerned for him with those staples in the floor. You all are doing great working together!

Arika you don't know me but I'm a single mom of 3 and I watch your UA-cam channel religiously! I'm in the hospital right now, newly diagnosed with right side heart failure needing and needing a Bipap. I just turned 40 in May and I'm terrified. I have never reached out to you, but I had to. I’m so sorry your not feeling well. Your under a lot if stress. When you make your plans for your kitchen and your carpenter is 4 days late and your home is all cinder block and nothing is going right it can be a whole lot of stress plus you don’t know what decision to make and will it be the right one for you. So glad you took the day off. Get a good nights sleep and hope you feel better tomorrow. No matter what you decide your kitchen will be BEAUTIFUL. You’re in my prayers sweet girl. Keep your faith. I hope you are feeling much better now - felt really bad for you. Trying to make Important decisions on a time restraint can be so stressful which can mess with our health. The laundry room looks great! If you do decide to move the stove, you should put the cabinet in between the refrigerator and stove.

I know your nerves are rattling! Especially because the kitchen is the heart of the home! It's looking so nice though and you're going to love it! I almost hate to tell you this, but your ceilings would be so pretty with planks painted white! :)
You all are working so hard. It is coming together nicely. Can’t wait to see where the stove ends up.
Had a fire and had to have new cabinets and new stove and exhaust fan. The legs on the stove can be adjusted. My stove was one and a half inch difference. That was years ago. Well we just replaced our floor and it again had to be raised another half inch. If the counter is higher then the stove move the stove to refrigerator. If the counter is lower even when adjusting the legs leave the stove where it is. You have pan handles and sometimes a wider pot. Have rented where gas stove was higher, was ok. Also, rented a place where it was lower then counter both places gas stove, it was a pain.

I’m loving DIY projects! Although I know you’re bringing in a professional for your kitchen, I think it’s great you guys do what you can on your own.
I just went to my daughter’s home and we repainted her entire master bedroom! I’ve painted our kitchen cabinets and our laundry room cabinets too. Next month I’ll paint our guest and master bathroom cabinets and buy new accessories to update the look. Can’t wait to see your finished product, I know it’s going to look beautiful!!💖

I would move the refrigerator where the range was, then the counter height won’t matter. Move range on the wall where the fridge was. More open and more counter space or storage. You’ll make it work either way. Looks good so far. Love the paint color with your faux walls.

Hi Arika. There are always bumps in the road when you start a project. Shelves will look good. I am sure. Habent seen Jaxson dab for awhile. Maybe you were nauseous from the heat. Build a small platform (box) raising the stove up to whatever height you want. The electrical move with the block walls will cost you time and money. I know you must be soooo ready to have your kitchen back!

I know how you feel. Renos never go as planned. We are gutting and remodeling a place for our daughter to move into on our property and it has been crazy. I've already stepped on 2 nails (thankfully I got a tetanus shot) and there is so much rot from previous roof leaks. But oh well, the show goes on and it will be beautiful when we are done, just like your kitchen. It's all worth it in the end!

Oh no I hope you are feeling better! Your laundry room looks awesome. I had one of those spray paint handle things and my hubby loaned it to a neighbor and when we went to ask for it back ,now they can't find it,Ugh!!! So I guess we have to go buy another one,Thankfully they aren't expensive. The neighbor said she would look for it in her shed ,her grand son probably took it and was playing with it and she asked him and he said he doesn't remember seeing it?? Oh well Such is life!!right? Now I see why you put your hair in a ponytail,like you had said you mess with it a lot when it is down. No Disrespect intended! Your hair looks so much healthier now. I hope you feel better soon. My husband tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday but his only symptom was loss of smell. He did have some sinus issues a couple days before but we are trying to go about being in the same house but being apart. I have been sleeping on the couch lol and him in the bedroom and using the back bathroom(minus shower). I didn’t get tested but I have felt good. Hubby feels good too and he got his smell back soon after. I think my tummy hurts because of nerves tho, this is nerve wrecking and scary but he thinks it was from going to work. He took all precautions and wore mask and still got it.
I am so excited for your Reno. I love the black shelving with the wood and I’ve added black to some of my decor. My hubby built me some shelves but we just went with the same white brackets bc I wouldn’t have had enough room for my decor and plus I wanted to go as cheap as possible. Maybe I could show you a picture. Anyhoo, love all your decor and what’s going on and hope you feel better. Ps. Your brother seems fun!!! Watching the old flooring getting pulled up was so sasifying
I think you should totally switch the stove and the fridge! You’d have more counter space and the fridge would be out of the doorway and I think the flow of the kitchen would be so much nicer
If you really like the location of your stove, they can make the stove a bit higher by putting a platform under it or just blocks. It can then be finished off with a nice piece of moulding (wood) underneath the front of the stove.We had to do that to one side of our refrig as the floor was not level. We also built a pallet under our washer and dryer to get them off of the cement floor so it CAN be done inexpensively.
We are slowly redoing our kitchen. The house was built in the 70s and the floor was the exact flooring you had under your washer and dryer! It stayed dirty and stained from all the years! It had to be the first thing to go! Lol

The kitchen is looking great Arika!..I Ihave seen people use the antique windows in their aged condition either hung next to each other , or one on top and one underneath, hung from two small chains on patio ceilings.. It's a really cool look!
Move the stove. It makes sense and add small counters on each side of the stove. You will appreciate the extra counters when making treats for people.
When you had your stove sitting by the fridge I thought it would look nice there and give you more counter and cabinet space where the stove use to be. You should look at some led light strips for under the cabinets. They are small and put off a lot of light. Plus some of them can be color changing.

looks great. we re did our kitchen about 3 yrs ago. it is a crazy time. but all worth it. we only painted our cabinets but wow that was a job. but we did re do our hardwoods witch had 5 layers of old flooring. everything looks so pretty. look forward to the next video 💞
