Kyle: I am an American and former railroader who stumbled on your videos on UA-cam. They are superb! I never knew there was such a variety of locomotives and equipment in the UK. Great stuff!
Hi Kyle These old class 56's some are being rebuilt virtually as new loco's as they could not buy new class 66/67 from Canada owing to not being able to supply them, but they can get engines and other parts so they overall them and fit class 66/67 type engines in them and reclass them as class 69;s just like brand new and a lot cheaper to buy.
Great footage and the variety of locos was great too Kyle. Nice to see so many 56s on the move, altho it's not quite clear how many will be fully restored. 70007 looked fresh and sounded good, and must be one of the few serviceable FLHH locos. Loved the classic EE thrash off the 50s, quickly followed by the 20s on the LOL drag move. Great sounds and very enjoyable, well done mate! Best wishes from Ken.
Thank you, Ken. Greatly appreciated. It was third time lucky with the 56 move due to it being cancelled on the previous two occasions. The line of 70s at Leeds seems to lengthen every time I pass by. They do sound good, so it would be nice to see some reintroduced to traffic. I'm pleased you enjoyed. Regards, Kyle.
A double-headed container or any freight for that matter, Class 90's never in my whole life have I seen it. Containers pulled by a pair of 86's - common as apple pie but never two 90's. Great job
Very good video. I'm not a rail person but I find it relaxing watching trains at home. Can anybody explain, with electric powered freight trains, how do they remove/up lift/crane out the shipping containers if the cables and gantries are in the way?
Anyone happen to go through Doncaster last night? What was in the shed with the white covering over it? Shape looked like the prototype HST, couple of engineers wandering around it wish I could have seen what was going on
Great show! Two questions: how much freight is hauled by diesel electrics and how much is hauled by electric? Also, do the electric and diesels each used according to the freight being hauled? Once again, great video.
Thank you for watching. As stated above, GB Railfreight has purchased these Class 56s from UK Rail Leasing (UKRL). They're likely to be stored at various locations, re-engineered and returned to traffic when required.

The carriages on the rear are known as barrier vehicles, which are often used to allow locomotives to haul railway vehicles with a different type of coupler or to improve brake force. If you weren't aware, the new carriages being transported are new MK5A carriages for TransPennine Express. They will operate in push-pull mode with class 68 locomotives on services between Liverpool, Manchester, Scarborough and Middlesbrough.
@@steventhornton4716 all comes down to cah at end of day 2 million to refit a 56 or 4 million for brand new loco, i dont think the 69 sounds like the 66 obviously similar but the bodywork defo gives it own unique sound
@corturia I agree its a no brainer cash wise but the 56 whilst a good workhorse would give a deltic a run for its money on the rubbish it throws out the top lol
You see all that rippling on those Pullman mkII coaches? That’s what happens if you let an idiot loose with a sand blaster !!! They look terrible close up, like they’ve been rolled down an embankment.
Will never get on with 66s tho and the 70s are ugly. And they sound and look characterless. But having said that your videos sound and quality wise are a+

3yrs old,,, still a great video.
Superb selection of Traction. Liked the 4 choppers at Derby 👍😎
I am from the US and worked on Amtrak locomotives for 2 years. England has some neat shaped locomotives. Have a good day.
First train spotter video ever which keeps the camera still and doesn't use zoom: well done!
Thank you.
Even after 4 years people are still watching and leaving comments. Simply superb Kyle, Thankyou for posting. Happy New Year.
Thank you. Happy new year!

I'm impressed with the length of the class 66 ballast train.
Thanks for watching.
Great compilation with so much variety over there. Crewe and Stafford are two of my favourite locations.

The electric loco is swapped for a Diesel loco before it reaches its destination. 😀👍
This is a seriously good video! Well done mate 👍 excellent quality and great selection of locos!
Thank you. Much appreciated.

A Great video you made, Kyle Thank you
Thank you, Ernie.
Superb camera work.
Thank you.
i dread to think what will be dragging 66769 to the breakers when its turn is here.
Probably a class 37 lol
5m21s There is a break in the rail. Watch how every wheel sparks as it bridges the gap. You would not want to be near that on the track.
Nice video of 2 choppers hauling underground trains grest shot.
Thank you.
My god, some of those trains were long ! - excellent video Kyle
Most CN trains passing my home town, Brighton, Ont., are 12,000 feet long ....!
OK let me rephrase that... Long for the UK !
Thank you, Malcolm. Appreciated.
Interesting comment. I'm looking at the train lengths compared to here in the US with 2 mile long trains. Not trying to boast though.
What's the story with 56031,32 and 37? Hopefully reactivation and a good repaint.
Thank you for watching. As stated above, GB Railfreight has purchased these Class 56s from UK Rail Leasing (UKRL). They're likely to be stored at various locations, re-engineered and returned to traffic when required.
56031 is now 69001,,, not sure about other 2
Brilliant video
Thank you, Phil.
12:29 wait, that’s illegal.
Why?
Harvey Quinn it’s a joke
Great up to date video Kyle,,
Thank you, Mike.
Awesome Video And Captures :-)
Thank you.
Wow that’s 13,000 horses in the form of class 56 and I know which locos I’d prefer to hear over a 66.
37 884 looks very smart. :)
Thanks for watching.
Brillant video Kyle
-Kyle
Thank you.
Regarding the 2 hoovers @ Leicester.
Thought they'd all been withdrawn years ago... any info anyone?
Nice video Kyle, what make of video camera do you use? I was looking at buying a video camera instead of constantly using my mobile phone!
Thank you very much. I use a Panasonic HC-VX870 to film my videos.
Nice video!
Thanks!
I know it's been a while but what was they doing with them old 56's
they were converted to new class 69 with emd 710 engine was pooling them together think it was 18 in total got pooled for the project
great video
Thank you.
Simply the best 👍👍👍🇬🇧
Dear Kyle do you happen to know what will happen with these class 56 loco's in the second and third ride?
Thanks for watching. As stated above, GB Railfreight have purchased these Class 56s from UK Rail Leasing (UKRL). They're likely to be stored at various locations, re-engineered and returned to traffic when required.
Top video as always.
Thank you.
whats all the carriages behind the first train with no windows in them?

wow. the class 56's are they going to be the new zomies
I see DCR don't want 56311 then which was brought to life by them
Nice one thanks
Thanks for watching.
At 2.20 I thought 'hang on that doesn't sound right!'........then the answer appeared behind it.......doh!
Thanks for watching.
Great Video 😁
Thank you.
Was that the 56 scrap surplus?
originally but they were converted to a new class with new engines, class 69
@corturia that makes sense not sure about the 69 seeing a 56 hearing a 66 just seems wrong like the 57

Wagons join with a hook tights up and a red pipe for brakes
I don't feel bubbly when I see diesels. They look so dirty in compare to the beautiful steam trains out there
You see all that rippling on those Pullman mkII coaches? That’s what happens if you let an idiot loose with a sand blaster !!! They look terrible close up, like they’ve been rolled down an embankment.
Locomotive needs tlc
Sexual Chocolate great video some fab combinations 👍
Thank you. Appreciated.

Thank you for your kind comments.
the mk5 coaches look horrible, the crappy "livery" doesnt help.
