My discover it graduated in 6 months, but I don’t get the 5% cash back like the unsecured card. Also I heard with capital one you have to use use over the limit of the card to show you need an increase. Example like if your card have a $200 limit. Spend $400 to $600 or more to show you need a bigger limit. I don’t know how true that is but will try that approach and see

Worked for me! I actually spent over the limit not to much just a few dollars to trigger the massage that I'm over the limit and paid it back it should not be on the statement

@@yossibraver5330I think that is the key to getting a capital one increase. What’s the point of giving someone an increase if they’re not using the small limit they already have.

This worked for me as well. I kept maxing my card and paying it off in full on the statement date to keep my utilization at 0% and I got increased in 5-6 months

Cap One is weird. Got a platinum card as my first card with a $300 limit 12/2022. That card has a $800 CLI now. I also have a Savor card 10/2023. Starting limit $1k. Currently a $4k limit. Auto bump of $3k in April 2024. Got a Discover secured card $300 limit 12/2023. Used it constantly and paid the balance off in full every month. Decided to put another $200 on my secured limit to make it $500. Graduated after 6 months and they bumped me up to $2k. Currently at $3k and I believe it is because I currently have been carrying about a $1200 balance average for the last 5 months. I plan on just paying the balance in full within the next 3-4 months. Now my average starting credit limit on new cards is about $5k.
Also…I always have my TU frozen. Capital One has still approved me for my Savor card.

I could just get $200 back after spending $1,500 vs $150 after spending $3,000 from Citi??? What makes Credit Unions good tho? I’d like to hear back and maybe I’ll make a video on it! Thanks!!

Capital One is buying Discover Card. Rather than compete, they'll just eat the company that treats customers better. Once they get regulatory approval, will have same policies by end of 2024 or early 2025. Try protesting merger to your legislator and see how that goes.

He's not wrong. Did you pay attention to the video? Capital One deals with the subprime market and a lot of their customers have poor or no credit at all. So when they get approved from Cap1 they get small limits that also get very small increases. And it stays that way for many years because the cards are BUCKETED. I had no credit history almost 7 months ago, got approved for an unsecured Platinum Mastercard and got a $300 CL. After 6 months of heavy use and on-time payments I got a $100 increase.
So pay attention to the video before commenting on how Cal is wrong.

There are folks who pay for every expense including bills like insurance, cell phone, groceries, gas, dining, online purchases by card to earn points or cashback. 1500 won't cover everything for a lot of people. @@samanthagriffinv2.08 You're absolutely right. Someone can pay off their card 2 or 3 times monthly. However, it's not too hard for many w good credit to get a higher balance and not worry about going over mid-month. After automatic payments set for my primary card early this month I needed to pay about $700 for an unexpected car repair last week, so my December balance on Dec 7 is $1600. Everyone's card use differs. I pay my full balance off monthly. While I do well enough I'm not rich. But $1500 doesn't cover my preferred monthly use to benefit from points and cash back. And I don't really ever want to stop mid transaction to pay off a card to use a card.
