Time for another 4th of July or National Holiday hairstyle idea? This Star Bun Combo is super easy to create, and since it is a combo... your options are limitless!
Feel free to rope twist, simple, or fishtail braid the ponytail before creating your bun. Here, I show you how to use a simple twisty bun.

If you're going to be attending an Independence Day parade this year, I am here to tell you that our 4th of July hairstyles get a lot of attention from the press. Brooklyn and Bailey, and Kamri, have each had their photos taken for major city newspapers, including the national edition of USA Today for wearing our holiday hairstyles to parades. Several fans and their moms have written in to say the same!

Can you please show how to do the star?? That looks super hard! The rest is pretty basic.

Hardest part...the star... wish we could have seen a demonstration of that..
I explained how to do it. The only thing missing was literally pulling the comb through the hair. Seemed sort of silly to add 3-4 minutes to the video to show that :)
It is really hard to do so can you put another video up on how to do it...?

You should've showed how to do the star because that's the hardest part and seeing someone do it is easier than listening to someone say how to do it for most people. That was necessary but showing you putting her hair in two pigtails was not :/ don't get me wrong it was still a good video :)

I think if the star-bun became two on each side instead of the star-bun with 2 ponytails it would be way more cute! I do like the added glitter to give it a firework effect though!

YT grades us for how long a viewer watches our videos. Unfortunately, our % is too low because the majority of viewers skip parts or only watch 1/3. Tutorial channels like us get hit extra hard. If we added the star parting in, it would have added 2 minutes to the video. I might just add a video for the parting only. The best thing loyal viewers can do is watch the whole video for any channel they follow. Sorry, Lauren!

Cross Beeper Here's how I did it. A star is actually difficult to draw freehand so doing it in parts is tricky as well. I first drew it on a piece of paper until it looked right, then cut it out. Now using it as a template you use a rat-tail comb to separate the parts cleanly. The only real tricky bit is making sure its balanced and that you can get the corners right.
For a new trick, try other shapes.
