I love how BSS keeps sticking to the “company director” concept-it’s so fun and creative. In Korea, companies usually have team dinners every quarter, and someone in a senior position, like a director or department head, usually gives a toast. One of the most classic (and slightly boomer) toasts is: “Youth is right now(청춘은 바로 지금)! Cheong-ba-ji(CBZ=청바지)!” It’s a play on words because 청바지 literally means “jeans,” and that’s why they’re all dressed in jeans and dancing in the music video. I love their humor so much.
I think the disclaimer for CBZ is due to the political situation in S. Korea recently and the fact that the album concept has BSS campaigning for office. If you have time, Mnet just posted the first live performance of CBZ with full choreo, and the vocals/performance was everything I was hoping for from this comeback.
@@stratosstratos4965 As a Korean, I actively sympathize with xkitsune's comments. CBJ also refers to a toast commonly used by middle-aged people(Short for the sentence "Youth is right now."), and this song uses its usage as the main theme.
Seventeen is very creative with word play. CBZ means Cheong Ba Ji(Zi), which means "Jeans". In the lyrics, they use the word as a three acrostic poem. (Cheong) Cheong chun neun, (Ba) Ba ro, (Ji) Jigeum, which means "Youth is now". If you think very deeply, that word has double triple meaning.

maybe someone already said it but cbz is shortened from "youth is now" in korean and stands for "jeans"

Also maybe useful too for the New Jeans issue since the song is "Jeans" related
@@stratosstratos4965 nahh CBZ iis literally a korean phrase and in no way related to the current issue with newjeans/ador/hybe

The teasers explain the message of the song and they have a political theme, which is the reason for the disclaimer.
