Rithvik Raja is such a deep-thinking and passionate musician and I'm so glad we got together to record this.

This Dharu Varnam in Khamas composed by my Parama Parama Parama Guru ( Sri Santhanagopalan- Sri Madurai TN Seshagopalan - Sri Ramanathapuram Sankara Sivam - Sri Muthaiyah Bhagavathar) is a favorite of musicians, dancers and Rasikas alike.

What is the connection between this song and Mysore ( Karnataka) maharaja Sri Nallwadi Krishna Raja Wodeyer.?? Also this song is dedicated to goddess of Mysore - Chamundeswari (ಚಾಮುಂಡೇಶ್ವರಿ) .... Is this written by king himself?? Because that king was a great Vaggeyakara. Please clarify me🙏 how this is muttaiah bhagavatar kriti. ?? Clarify on this🙏🙏
@LAKSHMI ALWAN Namasthe. Sri Muthaiyah Bhagawathar had been appointed as the Samsthana Vidwan of Mysore by Maharaja Krishna Rajendra Wodeyar who greatly admired Bhagavathar's music. I believe the
Mudra is featured in the last line of the chittaswara sahithyam- "Mahithe *Harikesha* Manohara sadaye"
The first three lines of the Chitta Swara Sahithya are in praise of the King and the rest, asking the Godess of Chamundi to protect such a great ruler.

Sri Nalwodi Krishnaraja Wodeyar was not a vaggeykara but was a generous patron of arts. It was his nephew, and successor Sri Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar who has many compositions to his credit including Shiva Shiva Who that was performed by Srimathi MS at the UN.
Ritvik nailed it with his depthful voice and excellent performance . soulful rendition by both.💕💕👌👌🤙🤙🥰🥰😍😍
There is something in his voice that is mesmerizing. I am anyway a fan of yours! God bless both!

Maathe malayadhwaja ... Daruvarnam in the raga Khamas,composed by Mutthaiyya Bhagavatharis in Khamas... a Janya of Harikanbhoji; It does not contain rishabham in the ascending scale but with chathusruthi rishabham in the descending scale ., is used for javali type compositions. Say... light classical romantic songs that are used in dance concerts. Of course, 'Khamas' rightly fits into slow romantic/shringara.rasa in classical music.
Here the 'maatE malayadwaja pandya samjate maatanga vadana guha' is sung by a class sychronized tone by vocalists- Sriranjani Santhanagopalan n Ritvik....presented the varnams's muktaayi swara saahityam so beautifully!! There are sahityam for respective multiple mutiple ettugada swarams...Beautifully sung.....
