Mint insight to a brutal looking track, can you now march into the RedBull media tent and tell them to buy some more cameras, so much of the track is not filmed on race day, I feel we’re being cheated, and you must definitely tell them where to stand though The teams seem to take your line choices seriously, so RedBull definitely should listen. Looking forward to your practice vids. 👍

One question that poped up in my head now is. In dh skiing they always talk about who designed the course. I would find it really interesting to hear if its the same on dh mtb and who designed the tracks.
Interesting thought. I guess once a DH track is built it only tends to vary slightly year by year rather than being totally different each season so the current years “designer” doesn’t get much credit. With skiing the snow is moved and shaped each season to form a “whole new course” of sorts so more credit is given to that years designer? Reality is probably back in the day a course designer was mates with the broadcaster and said “here mate, gonna mention me on tv.” And thus tradition was born.

It’s a mix of course designer, UCI technical delegates and Redbull content managers as far as I’m aware. I knew the old course designer but he was give the boot which sucked cause he was rad.
Yeah this is a similar question to what I just asked in the main text about how they decide when and where the tape should move event to event.

I'm one of the trails maintenance guy here I val di sole, and as you said UCI gives us some guidance about little changes of the track and then there's our trail builder interpretation of UCI hints.. BTW thetrack is pretty done, next year there will be some surprises, rad ones! Other thing I need to say is about the name of the Valley, it doesn't come from "Sun" it comes from a celtic water goddess named Sulis, so makes more sense about the huge rainfalls that happens here! 😅 Great video ben!! Hope to see you again walking around here!

They’ve all been mentioned in my past videos as well as when they expect to return to racing. These were all new developments that had not been mentioned before as far as I’m aware.

Try a less directional mic on top of the camera. The shotgun was too much with Finn Iles. Try something like a cardioid of a subcardioid. They should be better when you turn the camera. Great vid otherwise, as always.

Love your work as always, but I watch with my kids and would rather not see close ups of bloodied body parts. Crashing is obviously part of mtb and I'm not trying to hide that, but gore doesn't add anything to your good work. Maybe a warning if you really want to include it? Cheers
