I've had n outward folding phone as a daily for 3yrs no problems, screens don't crack like the glass screens on non folders Outward is way better than inward folding with horrible creases.
My only guess is they figured out how to prevent that, because I don't see any scratches on my Flip 4 after being assaulted by my trash hand hygiene. And having a phone that folds out would eliminate the outside screen, which would cut down on battery usage and weight. This isn't an endorsement of the concept, mind you, just my somewhat educated guesses on the benefits of a foldout phone.
My wife had both the flip 3 and 5. Both screens crapped out and had to be repaired. The repair shop says these phones have huge warranty claims. The screens are terrible.
i'm still waiting for a candy bar phone that slides out to mini notepad display, and folds easly up again than a clam shell design that is too thick for many pockets

Foldable phones are totally useless 1. You are going to make more gestures than necessary, so 2. They are not ergonomic, especially for writing, and 3. You don't gain anything for watching movies That's more than enough to forget about them, for the time being
These are worse versions than what’s currently available. Why would I want the fragile screen on the outside? The Z Fold is great, just needs a big boost in battery life.
I’d prefer rollable.
Lol why
@MarinaAvalos-fn3ue it's even more pocketable , but it needs better battery tech because the lithium battery aren't enough for so small devices

Yeah, at least I can light it up
man would i hate to drop that on just about anything ....
If samsung puts this on their z flip series I'm fucking switching to Apple cus ain't no way💀

Looks cool but WHAT THE HELL IS THE POINT???
And yet Zach would still be able to make this not survive the bend test 💀
The future of these phones is the same as 3D TVs that were all the rage 10 years ago.
Living under a rock? 😮
Wrong.

YOu can scratch that display with a fingernail just like the inside screen of the Z Fold and flip. So why would you want that on the outside.

Yeah you gotta realize all of this is new, in the future foldables will eventually be perfected and become the norm.
I can't see myself wanting this. Looks cool but it's impractical. A phone is still just a fancy tool.
What was it about the flexnote and flex hybrid?

Love the square designs
I had one but kept breaking my screen protector
Please find out when will we get Tri-Fold Phones
Do you work for Huawei? That just came out.
So basically, we went back in time to flip phones
Love them. What about rollables? Have they show any of those?
Rollables are dead... Not enough screen gain for all the complexity
A folding A4 sized tablet will make sense.
That's not 360 degrees though?
yes it is bruh
The future looks good.
Folding phones still havent solved the scratching issue. Why even bother?
Just because the flex wasn’t unnecessary enough there we go with this now
Samsung innovates!
Fuck this Innovation they better keep it the way it is

that flex looks super thin
It always looks kind of broken 😅

Maybe in 2030 😢

Why?
Outfolding arw useless as we cannot have phone protection covers

Funny how Samsung crapped on phones that folded that way 5 years ago.

The future's gonna have a lot of broken phones. If it bends then it'll break. Why spend 2k on a disposable item.
Actually, the saying among engineers is: if it doesn't bend, it's gonna break.
